THE LORD OF THE RINGS: Return of the King (spoilers)

cus that was the major battle, and the elves from the begining didnt not want to be a major deciding force in the war for the one ring. that is why.

But hten they changed their minds. That was the whole point of that scene with galadrial and Elrond in TTT. And Galadriels men going to Helms deep. And Arwen convincing Elrond to reforge the sword and take it to Aragorn.

The elves changed their minds, and decided not to abandon the men and leave them to their fates. The opted to be pro-active in the conflict, instead of casual observers.

Well, I am going to have to side with Mr. Coffe on this one. Although visually stunning, I also found that the pace of the movies took way to long and I felt like I was watching a different version of the same movie with each one.

Well like I said I like LOTR, books and films alike, but I recognize all the faults in the material. I just like it anyways and I can't explain why, but I'm at a loss as to how these films ended up being so popular.

It's partly that, and it's partly pronunciation. My parents gew up in Surrey, and what mildly irritated me about the HP films was that the kids would pronounce either and neither in the American fashion (ee-thur and nee-thur) rather than the English one (eye-thur and nye-thur). This might have been at the insistence of American dialogue coaches or the director; I don't know.

weird, cause in Canada we say eye-ther and nye-thur. I had no idea people pronounced it the other way.

OK, so my regular reaction to NJO:

A long time ago, actually not so long since its all years after ANH, in a galaxy far, far away...

STAR WARS
The Reborn-Renew Jedi Order Proving Ground School, part 8

(NJO Book #CXLVIII)

It's a time of so-so peace in the Galaxy. The last remains of the Empire:Reloaded, led by evil revived clone of a bad xerocopy of Palpatine's grandson's lookalike and the cunning grandson of Thrawn's nephew - Le Grandeur Admirale Thaw, are instilling bad feelings among the stellar citizens. The New Republic-v.3.2 Fleet, composed of prized Super-Hi-Fi-Eclipse Star-Bombad-Destroyers, repainted to fuchsia/pink color scheme (after capture) resembling peace is standing by to thwart any danger that may appear as a phantom menace to the New Republic-v.3.2.

As if Imperials weren't enough, a new terror emerges - an completely unknown alien race from a different movie, know only as the "bombad alienz dat eat ze brainz". Only the neon swinging hippie cultist, known also as Reborn-Renew Jedi, can avert the danger and bring some sort of order to the Galaxy.

Duke Skywalker, the grand, grand, grand^6... son of Luke S. is meeting at Chewie's graveyard with a wealthy merchant, Jacen-Han Solo-Organa, to take the Reborn-Renew Jedi training from him in the Jedi Order Proving Ground School in Naal Hutta. Unbeknownst to him is the adventure that lies on the path he is about to choose...

LOL

not far from the truth.

Beautiful Women

I never really got the idea of Sandra Bullock as Wonder woman. SB is pretty cool but its such the wrong part for her. Lucy Lawless or Catherine Zeta Jones on the other hand would be perfect as WW. SB would of made a good Batgirl though (not that I really like the idea of a batgirl, but she would of been ten times better then alicia silverstone)

Yeha people rave about Sam in ROTK, but I thought he was much better in FOTR and TTT. Not that he was bad, but he just didn't stand out so much IMHO. Pippin and Faramir were the stand out characters for me in ROTK. I really felt like ROTK was from Pippins perspective (hobbit perspective was one of the things TTT lacked IMHO) in many ways he came across as the main character to me and he had a strong character arc. And farmair is such a sad man, I felt terrible for him, I wish his romance with Eowyn had made the theatrical cut, just to give some resolution that these two sad characters finally found some happiness.

Gandalf got the one eleven ring way b4 the one rings was destroyed rebel, he got is from an elf named celenor or something like that, 2000 years b4 the lotr story.

Celeborn is Galadrials husband (he was in the movie briefly) He gave Gandlaf the ring after the war of the rings, not before. as far as I can remember it was either before the hobbits went back to the shire at the end of ROTK, or it was just before they went to the grey havens.
