Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)
Time

I was only referring to your basic set, dark_jedi.
I'm aware your bonus set was for those who sent in DL's, and I'm fine with that, obviously. It's a fine reward.

Like some others, I too wouldn't mind sending in some DL's late at this point.
Although since I live in Belgium, I'm not sure if those would survive the long trip.

I'm sure it will end up on some filesharing server sooner or later.
Probably on tehparadox too.
Torrents, in my opinion, suck. They die far too fast, and leave everyone wanting.

I do whole-heartedly agree with you though, Asaki.
The set, image quality, sound and everything down to the covers, is downright fantastic. You should be damn well proud, dark_jedi!! :)

Here is a sample of the "Bonus" Set you guys will be getting with the packages, I honestly do not think I can get it any better, well anyways see what you think.

The intro is brilliant. The soundtrack sounds so much better in its original state. There's just that authentic feel to it that no surround system can beat.

Hoth showed up in the Clone Wars cartoons....there may or may not have been some local wild life in the background that could be used. Even if they are cartoony style they might be so small in AdY's edit you wouldn't even notice.

Wait, I thought we were talking about Dagobah?

True. But maybe Shadow only intended to refer to the wildlife itself, not their home planet per sé? Although I agree on saying cartoon bits (let alone animals) are probably a no-go.

The smile was a nod to the original Emperor who smiles at the exact same point.

When i get to the point that i'm pleased with a shot, i should stop there. I'm never going to please everyone and things just then get bogged down.

Bummer on the no more videos part.
About the smile; I wasn't complaining, even if it came across that way.
I like the smile, period. I was merely comparing with Grievous on ROTJ.

I definitely agree on how you feel about editing shots though.
It's still your edit, and so far, everything you've done -  I liked.
I'm still patiently awaiting and only comment wherever I can.
I completely tune out whenever it gets too technical.

I didn't say that, but that's an entirely different scene. He was reveling in his hatred, but during the holo scene he should be more restrained.

I agree, but I was merely comparing :)
You're right though, seeing as how the matter at hand (Luke) is very serious.
It's of course ady's edit, so I can live with it :)
Looks awesome nevertheless.

EDIT: and what greedo said about the obsessive eye for detail too.

You know what I would add to the emperor that I think would distract from the lack of facial movement?  I a quick eye blink, a la the amazing eye work you already did on Yoda.

But know you, Ady, you probably already tried that...

I like his cold, deathly stare. makes him more evil.

I agree on the deathly stare. Like I said before, everything about the 2004 Emperor is just ridiculous, including the eyes, that make up the stare.

Your Emperor edit is far superior ady.

+1 about that smile... very cool :)

I don't know about red eyes, but they now seem both yellow and realigned (i.e., looking directly at Vader) in that latest clip, whereas (if I recall correctly) they were neither before.

Very nice Ady :)

Whichever colour you want to call it, those eyes on the 2004 Emp look awful, period :)

The smile is ridiculously amazing, and I'm glad you finally got rid of those god awful red eyes. It always made me feel as if suddenly every bloody Sith everywhere had to have red eyes, just because they looked cool on Darth Maul...

The side-by-side comparison was an absolute pleasure :)

I would also consider when making the explosion to have the explosion burst towards the rear of the video picture, as the SD is moving forward (ie when a plane explodes in midair, the fireball extends across the sky as the plane [or what's left of it] continues moving forward).

Isn't that more because of a movement's relation to gravity, which space doesn't have?

Second, I noticed some time ago that just after Lando reveals his plan to escape from the Imperials at Cloud City, one of Leia's lines was cut out from the Special Edition and 2004 DVD. In the original release, Leia says “Do you think that after what you did to Han that we’re going to trust you?” In ’97 SE and afterward, however, all we can hear her say is “Do you think that after what you did to Han” before Chewie growls (quite loudly) and cuts her off. This has actually bothered me ever since I saw the SE in the theater for the first time. Ady, is there any chance of restoring the original dialogue here?

True. I don't even have to watch the film again to remember that one.
It sort of always stood out, clear as day.
You can clearly see her mouth still moving too.

It would be far easier for Jedi to have an on/off button on their hilt that actually works. Especially if they use lightsaber throws on enemies.
Imagine having to both guide the lightsaber, keep it on, and focus on your other enemies as well? Should be brutal on any Jedi's mind :p LOL

On topic: I definitely like Monro's idea.
Sounds natural as is, and that's what it should have looked like, judging from Luke's split second reaction.
