We could talk about ESB:R, too.* ;)

True enough. Everyone knows Ady won't incorporate any new stuff, be it DVD, or Blu-Ray. He's just postponed it to 2011 to get funding together. It doesn't have anything to do with George Lucas.
So no, I'm certain Ady won't be adding in the lightsaber scene.

And now, back to ESB:R?

dark_jedi, quick question:
will you be including the George Lucas introductions that were played on each VHS before the actual film? The ones where he shortly outlined what 'changes' he made?
I'm not even sure if that was an international thing, or only Europe.

dark_jedi have already answered that question on the previous page, it will be a movie only disc, no extras.

Fair enough, but read my post more thoroughly. It played BEFORE each film, it wasn't an extra feature.

Btw returning a bit back to the yoda clip you posted. When luke bites the food we listen that its hard to cut it. Like a dry bread. But when yoda bites it is like creme. Will you add a "strong bite" sound to yoda? If you know what i mean :)

-Angel

Have you seen Yoda's jaws? I bet he can bite through concrete with one chop of his predator teeth :p

I think they showed the Rancor scene as an example of "black matt lines" being obvious when talking about the clean-up (fixing transparencies) of the battle on Hoth in ESB.

Exactly. The scene showed Luke being pinned down by the Rancor, during which Luke disappeared off screen because of the Rancor closing in on him in front of the camera. THAT's what I was referring to. It showed the matte lines very clearly, which was something GL wanted fixed for the 97 SE.

Well g-force's scripts really improved the image(with what you mentioned and other) and it is made anamorphic(16:9) and they will have all the available audio mixes for the first time ever, no other set can say that, I am sure other people will chime in and tell you how nice these are, and 1 might comment about how it is not, but the ignore feature here is great for that.

If you like the Theatrical versions of each film this is the set to get, I think the only way this set can be beat is by only GL himself releases them.

Hope this helped somewhat LOL.

So basically, your GOUT v3 set is going to knock everyone else's out of the water? Okay then I'm definitely sitting it out until you finish and release this one :) I downloaded ROTJ GOUT v1 to ease the waiting pain until then :)

Quoted from that article:

"The original idea was that they would recover [the kidnapped] Han Solo in the early part of the story and that he would then die in the middle part of the film in a raid on an Imperial base. George then decided he didn’t want any of the principals killed. By that time there were really big toy sales and that was a reason.”

The discussed ending of the film that Kurtz favored presented the rebel forces in tatters, Leiagrappling with her new duties as queen and Luke walking off alone “like Clint Eastwood in the spaghetti westerns,” as Kurtz put it."

If Ady can pull anything close to that off, he's truly a magician.

Sorry it's off topic.

Ady's project is about restoring the OT to its full glory, not to make it something entirely different, as Kurtz envisioned it. That would be a FanEdit, which this project is not.

So yes, indeed, it's off topic :)

I don't know if this has been discussed yet, and I was hoping you guys would go easy on me, (I mean come on, 756 pages to read through?!), but what about Leia's dialogue when turning the Falcon around, back to Luke?

Will the line "I know where Luke is", be kept?
Or will Ady change it back to a second "We've got to go back!" ?

The line is also featured in the Story of the Empire Strikes Back. The quality is better, but I'm not sure if Ady could use it.

Unfortunately unless i can completely remove the music and clean up the vocals from Movealong's The Story of ESB to match the 5.1 audio i won't be able to re-insert that line.

Well, it's not entirely wanted from what I've read from my colleagues, and there's no reason why you should put all your time and effort in that one measly line, if you could better spend your time making everything else more epic than it already is! :D

I think that she knows where Luke is would be the key part in Chewie insisting to take the ship back. Lando has never met Luke, he doesn't care. Unless Chewie take Leia at her word constantly, I think its fine the way it is.

If you put it that way, it's hard to argue. You're absolutely right. :)

As with Ady's Revisited Trilogy, and dj's GOUT set, I can't wait to see this one completed either.

That shot looks even more epic now!  Great new tweaking to the colouring, and love being able to make out the stairs now.

I think I just... yeah no okay never mind that, but it's so damn... awesome!!

So very true. But that's what I like about it. You just have to be able to turn that sixth sense off. Either enjoy the film, or strip down to its very core. :)

Personally, I am somewhat making it my mission to see about every single official and (interesting) fanedit version I can get my hands on.
So far I'm well on track thanks to all the lovely people making GOUT edits and Revisited edits, but I'm still looking for someone that has put the 1994 VHS editions on DVD, so I can add those to my collection as well.
(Sadly, during my move, our VHS recorder had to bite the dust in favour of... euhm... free space) ;)

However this has nothing to do with ESB:R so perhaps we should all move onto subjects more related to Ady's project.

I agree. As entertaining as this may be, and trust me, it is, this does not aid Ady in finishing his project.

Back on topic:
I honestly never noticed the change in Han's shirt before, although at a younger age, when first viewing Star Wars, I wasn't such a sucker for details. Now that I am up-to-date on this fact, I too would like to see Ady change this.

Leia was born 19 BBY and her ship (with her in it) was captured 0 BBY.
So a clumsy little sum would make her 19, 20 at best, no?
Amidala was born 46 BBY and got bumped by the Trade Federation 33 BBY, so that would have made her 13 or 14 around that time, indeed.

That was either a really stupid attempt from Lucas to make Amidala seem like the early mature type, much like Leia in the OT, or it was just plain stupid, period. At least Leia had reached early adulthood... Amidala probably hadn't even gotten her first...--you know--... :)

I whole heartily agree with 005 and Bravo Zulu.
Cutting out Leia parts in either ANH or ESB would be almost blasphemous. She's the one girl amongst men, and has more balls than the majority of them. ROTJ is a whole other story, since she prefers tagging along with teddy bears instead of kicking shins like she used to.

I'm convinced Ady isn't going to change anything in the opening scenes along the lines thejediknighthusezni mentioned. That would totally destroy everything. The Ion Cannon sequence in particular is perfect the way it is. I nearly fell off my seat the first time I saw that one (no kidding), and couldn't stop cheering after I saw the Star Destroyer tip over.

If Leia's hanger briefing is cut out, and the General's "two at a time" is cut off before Leia speaks, or altogether cut, than the -21 year old in the snowbunny suit is top military expert and and commander- would be fixed. It would create other problems. The ion cannon and the transport ships would need set-ups. If a voice over the PA announces a cannon test, then a cut to the cannon traversing, that might be a set-up. If a voice announces the ships landed, then a cut to the ships, that might be a set-up. Audience sees transports and fighters, they'll know what the fighters do

The whole point of the Star Wars true fanedits was to get rid of those god awful "Lucas Captain Obvious" dialogue entries, as well as additional scenes that were unneeded. If all those set-ups you mention above are reinserted, the crowd will go nuts...
