267 INT CORRIDOR - BUILDING

A lift opens. Leia, Luke, Lando, Threepio and Artoo get out and walk out onto a garden balcony rich with flowers. They stand waiting. The Falcon takes off, rising into the starry sky on a plume of flame. They watch it diminishing against the starry sky. We see their faces. The 'droids', Leia, with all her heart and soul in her eyes, watching the man she loves vanish into unknown dangers.  And Luke... older, wiser, and more humble about his shortcomings, still loving Leia, but in a different way. Abruptly he unsheathes the lightsaber and activates, holding it in a position of salute for the departing Falcon.

All we need to do is add some flowers and we're cool.

The one background which had always royally pissed me off, even as a kid, is the final scene of ESB when Luke and Leia are looking at the distant galaxy.  That galaxy is huge in the sky, but even so, it would still be at LEAST a few MILLION light years away.  Which means that it should have been visible in every single starfield in the entire Star Wars saga.  There would not be a single place in the galaxy that you could go without seeing it in the sky.  Just like, even if Earth got moved to the other end of the Milky Way, much of the night sky would actually remain the same because of the light coming from stars in galaxies outside of our own.

There has already been pages of debate about this. Without starting another debate, I'll say that adywan has decided that is an accretion disc forming around a new star. So, they are still inside the galaxy, positioned just above the orbital plane of a newly-forming solar system. I agree that this makes the most sense.

Guess what? Looks like they're going to start all over again... ;)

How about simply adding a little thickness to them?
Maximum powered lasers could simply have more input, thus appearing bigger and having a bigger impact as well.

I would keep the original color, preferably.
It just doesn't fit, even for that one shot.

Er...what gave you the idea that this might get dropped?

I know it won't be Frink, ady seems more than determined, but I'm just saying. I'd hate for a project this big, popular, etc... to get dropped because of some negative feedback from some people.
Infodroid dropped out because of too much work/pressure/**fill in here** if I believe correctly, and I'd be devastated if ady would call it quits too because of the immense pressure he is in right now --both here and in private-- and ingratitude some people seem to radiate.

I think the Ralph McQuarrie scene proves that adywan is indeed open to suggestions, contrary to BmB's belief.

The mock-ups that some people posted were quite inventive and really improved the scene, without losing McQuarrie, which was ultimately adywan's main goal.

No rush A-Man ;)

I sort of went in grammar overdrive, while I just could have said:
Hey that looks neat, keep it that way, but as usual:

larger background => showcase more activity => ady knows best ;)

Leave the guys on the far right, it looks far better than the original that way.
It's quite impressive, really.
If the conversation is the main focus of the shot, and the ships are the main focus of the conversation, doesn't that mean they sort of balance each other out? I'd keep it the way it looks now, but without the pink tones.

In this example I tried to ground them in a dark control room and out the window we would see all of the action of the transports and the people hurrying around.

Obviously an alt. would be a brighter control room or something like that but at least from this you guys can see what I mean. If there were originally an establishing shot of the guys up on a raised platform this shot wouldn't seem so weird.
