You're right: if I were to assume the role of ISB officer, I should play it Putin...

Actually, we should ask ourselves the question: is our childr.... errr - I mean, can we treat this whole "fixing the classics" trend seriously? Doesn't it look to you that movie makers behave like a kid trying to rubber out stupid answers in a test after it was checked and then pretend that these were the original ones and the score was too low? I can understand that our civilization speeds up the "replacing old with new" process, but shouldn't it only apply to technology and not to movies? Doesn't it mean that they treat us all as the "common popcorn munchers" who can't see through the bells&whistles of the flick and see some other aspects of it, like the plot, acting, conveyed message etc.? Next time they're gonna "upgrade" other films, aimed at more demanding viewers, using the "lowest common denominator" so that they appeal more to a wide audience. So expect some sex, teen-humor, high-paced action and pop-music celebs to be added into "Schindler's List", "Passion", "Casablanca" ( "Play it again, Eminem..." ),...

And no, it wasn't supposed to be funny...

OK, I just couldn't stand to wait & wonder until the DVD gets released, so I e-mailed Lucas. He said he's gonna change the following:

- the characters will be sporting weird 70's-style hairdos, hero's hair will be dyed bright green to single him out from the crowd
- the interiors will be digitally altered so that they appear more colourful - expect some Star Wars stuff in the background as "Easter eggs"
- the robotic policemen are going to be replaced by TechnoNinjas(TM), new idea from Pixar studio, who will be moving with feline grace&speed (this concept was introduced after "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" hit the screens)
- the hero will have to choose between two colorful pills at some point in the plot
- there will be plucky comic relief called ZZ-88, with his favorite line "THX-1138, you be in a big kaka now..."
- the hero will have a mysterious scar on his forehead that was there since childhood
- ...

All of this to bring us the real version he has on his mind, but which couldn't be completed 30 years ago since he wasn't sleeping on $$$ as he does now

Star Wars: Combine, a MMORPG game
Time
OK, one of the forum members gave us this link once: www.swcombine.com

At that time the game was "down for mainteance", i.e. wasn't accepting new members. But I was just curious yesterday and.... voila! Welcome in SWC!

I'm a total newbie, I have barely created a new character, so don't saturate me with questions... my impression of the game:

-it's huge... 1200 members so far in one Galaxy, with dozens (hundreds?) of planets, cities, citizens, ships, vehicles, items...
-gives you that "Frontier:Elite" feel, the freedom of choosing your career and traveling through the (in)finite space
-plenty of characteristics, customizable characters
-many factions that post their job ads, recruitment ads etc.

As I'll be "immersing" myself in the game world in the following days (hey, I have to test, maybe it will turn out to be worth of my time?) I'm going to post some more thoughts and experiences.

So, if you'll ever bump into a guy named Riik Rola, don't kill him

Lucasarts cancels Sam'n'Max 2
Time
LucasArts is getting worse and worse... they used to release remarkable games, true "instant classics" with that elusive spark that makes you play them even as they grow old... too bad nowadays they just patch-up another console shooter with plot little to none and short gameplay span.
But this is a worldwide trend. Making games is no longer a labour of love, but a growing industry set on mass production.

must play games

sean, thank you for presenting the link in this way - by explaining this is a game etc. I once experienced a flood of spam caused by gamers who played this game, who unfairly masked their intentions by making links like: download free games! fresh mp3s! or other stupid stuff that led people to click on them. To reward you for your honesty, I've clicked on it.

EDIT: the message box said you have grown by 1 foot from it! Wow, RRS has some Viagra powers after all

Dent in Jango's helmet
Time
Other (more official?) sources say that he hit his head while boarding Slave I just after the fight and this is supposed to explain why clones (and later Stormtroopers) are "genetically" prone to bump their heads against the fast-sliding doors (check that famous ANH blooper scene).

If this was caused by a simple head butt, I wouldn't have very good opinion about the alloys the helmet was made from Shouldn't it be more sturdier? This reminds me of my parent's friend's accident - his car was... bitten by a dog! Yes, there were teeth marks on the hood! I have another car story on standby, but this would be even more offtopic
