a Star Trek thread...
Time
Klingon, for me after Voyager (which I really, really liked) and Nemisis, I have been pretty much burned out on Trek. Funny, since I'm speding so much money on Trek DVD sets of these series. I'll just be glad when I have Voyager and the original series on DVD. If I buy Enterprise it will only be to have a complete library of Trek.

I am going to buy the animated series. I used to love that as a kid. My Trek DVD collection is getting WAY too big.

Ralph Fiennes Officially Cast as Voldemort in HP4
Time
Count me among the one who hasn't seen Schindler's List so I'm not familiar with him.

However, I am familiar with the HP books. Have read them all and this is going to be a tough movie to film. The story itself is very complex. There is so much that happens in it that I just don't see how it's going to work. I might be pleasantly surprised. This was my favorite of the books so far.

Hey R2- Holiday Special truely isn't dead...
Time
Whoo-hoo! Great news! Thanks Starkiller! That thing will never die. I for one am doing my best to keep it alive.

Sheba, we must be about the same age. I saw it as a kid as well. Forgot most of it. I think my psychie was attempting to protect me from further harm. Didn't work. LOL!

Dark Lord, part of the thing are just ridiculous. LOL! I still gets the giggles when I think of the cooking show part. Stir, stir, whip, whip, stir. Just assinine. However, Carrie Fisher singing is something that I think that the public could certainly have done without. Just rotton.

Han, you big wookie hugger.

A Picture is worth a thousand words...

Yep Sheba. KJ is right. He said it.

Personally I don't like McCallum. I can't quite put my finger on why, but he strikes me as an ass kisser. I don't see what his purpose is other than to say, 'yes George' to everything. I know he's producer, but really. Isn't a producer supposed to keep a director sort of in check instead of just agreeing with everything?

Luke, the 'Jar Jar is the key to this movie' line is in referrence to the CGI work. What was meant is that if they can pull off Jar Jar, then they were home free as far as the rest of the CGI. Anything after Jar Jar would be a piece of cake. And the world of Star Wars hasn't been the same.

Info: Clarifying The Mystery of Kenner's Last 17 & Other Stuff
Time
The other three were Greedo, Walrus Man and Hammer Head. No, they weren't exclusives. They were the same ones that came out in the stores in 79. I was never sure why Snaggletooth was tall and blue for Sears but short and red for the general public. I guess Kenner just didn't have the correct specs for the character and later had to change it. I do know that the red Snaggletooth seemed to take forever to hit the stores.

Discussion: I Finally Got One! vintage Millennium Falcon
Time
Thanks guys. I can't wait to get this. Luke, for me I'd say it's the 2nd Holy Grail of Star Wars toys. My first would have to be my Death Star Space Station. I waited three years (when I was a kid) to get that sucker. Once I moved to San Francisco and decided to sell off some of my toys, that was one of the things that I kept. I'm so glad that I did.

Now that I have all of the ships and toys that I want I think it's time to complete my Kenner figures set. I just need those last 14.

2004 box set changes
Time
My best friend is a girl and she is totally into Star Wars. For a while there we weren't speaking. Largely due to the fact that I showed her the Holiday Special. I guess the psychological trauma was just too much for her. She hasn't been big on the PT. We both saw TPM and AOTC twice together. The one thing she has always said to me is that she is grateful that I told her about the immaculate conception before she saw TPM. In my own twisted fashion, I kind of wish that I hadn't told her. It would have been fun to see her reaction once that popped up on screen. LOL!

Star Wars Trilogy changes
Time
Welcome RobinHood. Great to see this stuff side by side for comparison. I have to agree with everyone else. The 2004 editions look great as far as picture goes. I'm also with Pagz on this. The detention corridor is a change that I can live with. Certainly a true improvement. Thanks for the great link.

Again a new poster creates a new thread when we already have two threads of this discussion. Oh well.

Has anyone watched the making of documentary on the 2 disc set for Kahn? The part where Shatner gets pissed about not knowing about the mind meld at the end is rather funny. I think he even talks about it in the commentary for the film. I could be wrong on that since it's been a while since I watched the movie.
