Random Thoughts
Time

Last night I dreamt that adywans star wars epIV revisited started out with scenes from a comedy set in modern day US, and then suddenly there were X-Wings shown flying outside of a household window, and then it flashes to some shots from star trek (they weren't really from star trek they were completely fabricated by my mind, but in my dream for some reason I had the knowledge it was from star trek), and then the movie started.

Then I went to walgreens to cash a check (they don't really cash checks, but in my dream they did) and they told me the check had to be at least 15 weeks old to cash, so I got some pizza on their buffet (that the walgreens in my dream inexplicably had) and some green beans and left.

And yes, I did smoke something before going to bed last night.

Petitions other than the one we all signed.
Time

I signed a local petition to keep a murderer who murdered a (random) black person (that he'd never met) in prison.

He had been heard saying with his friends "Let's get us a nigger" and they killed a random black guy they found, not knowing he was actually a very upstanding member of the community.  (not that that's all that odd, but to his mind he probably couldn't imagine it).

And this was in the 60's/70's, so I'm actually quite proud of my hometown for putting him in jail instead of just letting it go as was quite common back then. (Not here, but in other areas of the country at that time)

Absolutely! And also there are packs for Majora's Mask as well so if you want to experience it again without playing the same game you can try that.  Also it works with Master Quest!

I'd love to know where I could find these texture packs!

 http://textures.emulation64.com/index.php?id=downloads

There's a few of them.  If you want to use an ocarina of time pack (other than the cell shaded ones) PM me, because the ones that use "realistic" graphics are the community pack and phantom7's pack, but they are both missing several things but most of the missing elements can be found in one or the other packs but not both, plus one pack may have glitches that the other pack doesn't have, etc.  I made a hybrid version of these two packs that I used myself that I would love to share with you.  (I've never made it public as it's not my work rather a combination of other people's work)

The BlueDart majora's pack is pretty sexy though.

Well I can tell you for sure that no SIGNIFICANT story/plot elements will be removed.  Mostly trimming out annoying stuff and some of the ewoks more ridiculous moments.

Also, salacious crumb will be totally removed.  He'll be in the background of some shots still of course, but NO MORE CLOSE UPS OF HIM AND HIS STUPID LAUGH.  UGHHHGHGHGHGHGH.

Jabba's palace will move alot more quickly, many close ups of aliens will be removed, and I will try to remove as many appearances by the Muppets as I can.  (just kidding... but seriously though they look like muppets and I'm cutting out as much as I can)

NO musical or dance numbers at all.

Considering adding some music from the shadows of the empire soundtrack to the battle against the death star in space.  (if you've played the video game, I'm looking at the song that plays in the very last level when your attacking the skyhook with dash's ship.  The one with the choir).  I like that song and think it would fit really well, add a dark tone to the battle, and add a sort of symmetry to the score (since phantom menace score has choirs in it, and not much of the original trilogy's score does.  The only choirs I can think of in the OT is in the approach to cloud city and you can barely even hear them and the emperor's theme).

Again, any opinions on whether using the lossless pcm soundtrack would be beneficial?  Also any suggestions on how I could get the isolated score that I have to match the sound of the music in the movie in terms of quality and tone?  Don't want the music during cuts to all the sudden sound much more crystal clear than it just sounded you know.

I'm baaaack.  And jeez, didn't mean to cause such a ruckus on my departure.

Let's just all get along.  Yes, sometimes Frink adds nonsensical off topic posts to threads, but you just have to learn to laugh it off.  I mean let's face it, if it SERIOUSLY derails the thread, then you should just face the fact that the thread was going nowhere to begin with or else people would have simply laughed at Frink and moved on.  It used to bother me, but I've learned to accept and even appreciate it.

This place certainly wouldn't be the same without it, and it would become quite boring.

But don't take this as a criticism of you Jetrell Fo! I have nothing against you either.

Let's all just agree that we like star wars?

This has officially been taken up again, in 1080P.  The source I will be using has yet to be decided, I'm awaiting to hear back for permission, I plan on using the 'semi-specialized' version with most of the theatrical version minus enhanced visuals restored (NOT including the beak in the sarlaac pit). And I plan on using the uncompressed pcm wav dolby stereo audio track from a laserdisc for this for optimum audio quality, but haven't fully decided on whether or not this will really be necessary yet.

Any opinions on whether or not a lossless wav would be worthwhile for the audio track?  And I'm dead set on using 2.0 dolby surround.  Don't worry or let the 2.0 fool you, it WILL be pro logic II surround compatible.  The reason for this is it will make it easier to edit seamlessly (easier to pull up in an audio editor and make flawless transitions) PLUS less data to compress resulting in a higher quality file with smaller size leaving more room for video.

I'm going away for a  time, to clear my head and try to stop being so annoyed at certain things that shouldn't really annoy me but do anyway, to hopefully improve upon my own attitude and be able to return hopeful and not be annoyed by things!

I'm sure nobody cares or will miss me, but eh, that's okay can't say I really blame anybody I know I can be a dick sometimes and I'm really going to try and work on that because I don't like that about myself.

I meant the indy reference to be an implied "Deal with it" or something of the sort.  I just didn't have a gif of it. Sorry this isn't up to your standards, I know how you HATE to be off-topic. . .

I know I know shame on me for posting something that was only an implied gif and not an actual gif.  So serious in the joke thread...

Indiana Jones shooting the guy with a sword in Raiders

Wow I missed that!? Indy must have used one of those sword firing catapults... or did you mean that Indy loaded a guy who had a sword onto a giant catapult and fired him... or was 'the guy with a sword in Raiders' the codename of a Nazi super-weapon that Indy activated?

I need some clarification.

 Yes, that's the one.

*Insert GIF of Indiana Jones shooting the guy with a sword in Raiders*

(Did you know that was a last minute improvisation by the cast because Ford had been sick and as a result of that they were extremely behind schedule, and there was supposed to be a long choreographed fight scene between them but they ran out of time shooting it and Ford jokingly says, "Why doesn't he just shoot him?")

For me it would be characters we are supposed to like, ignoring waiters in restaurants. Kinda makes me instantly think they are actually rude pr*cks. Even in a scene like 'Jack Rabbit Slims' from 'Pulp Fiction' where the waiter isn't just an extra (He's played by Steve Buscemi), our two heroes just sit in uncomfortable silence while he serves them their drinks, no please, no thanks, no cheers, not even a smile or a nod... I'd have p*ssed in their 5 Dollar shake and Vanilla Coke! ;-)

Seconded! I have also noticed and gotten irritated at that.

Also, smoking marijuana is better for anxiety, as when you eat it it stays with you MUCH longer, so therefor if it freaks you out, you'll be freaking out for a WHIILE, whereas if you smoke it, it won't be so long.

But that's off topic.

I also detest fart jokes.

I also hate REALLY obvious set ups to lame jokes about people being stupid.

Example.  (even tho this is a great film), in fellowship of the ring, pippen says "You need someone of intelligence on this sort of mission...quest...thing..." Mary says "That rules you out pip".  I spent a good 5 minutes after that happened not enjoying the movie and just thinking about how annoying that 10 seconds were.  Otherwise great film

I suffer from horrible anxiety and panic attacks that totally prevent me from seeing any movie in theaters, does that count?

I'd say!

I went through a period of having anxiety attacks and there is no sensation like it.

The first time it happened my ex was driving me in the car and I begged him to stop the car and I collapsed against a fence. I couldn't breath, everything was spinning around, passers-by thought I was having a heart attack and offered to call an ambulance. I was on beta-blockers for months.

You have my sympathy there.

Weirdly (and I'm not suggesting this as a cure) my one and only illegal drugs experience stopped it dead (probably because it was more horrific than anything in the real world).

You heard it here kids do not ever, ever, ever eat 15 space cakes in one sitting.

You may be peckish but the results are like H.P. Lovecraft really pushing the boat out.

Got rid of the anxiety attacks though, nearly lost my mind in the process.

You are right, there is nothing like that.  I never had the world spin, but my chest gets really tight, not painful, but tight, and my heart will beat really fast and I'll just get really weird.

And hahaha I know it's not funny to you, but someone who suffers from anxiety deciding to eat 15 space cakes in and of itself is kindof funny, sorry to be insensitive, and I appreciate that.

I do smoke weed, which is a mixed bag as it often helps but on occasion makes it far worse.  I would probably be better off on the anxiety front overall if I gave it up for good, but the times when it makes it  better are so blissful and worry free it seems worth it to have the odd bad trip now and again.  (strong stuff around here)
