Somebody that I sortof know was just found guilty of intentionally smothering her 3 month old baby. We weren't friends or anything (which is a relief) but I still knew of her. She seemed so normal, to everybody. Nobody in the community would have ever thought this was possible of her. She was generally liked and nobody was ever suspicious of her. It's shocking and shaking to the community.

If it makes you feel better only two people have me on ignore and I don't recall ever having any interaction with Greedo and the only interaction I ever had with Doctor M was being mistaken about something this one time... don't remember the details but I don't think there was an argument. I just posted a comment and I was mistaken about some of the details in it so he put on ignore. What a fuckbag.
I confess that Clerks 2 is the most recent smith movie I've seen. Dogma was I think 99? But it was a good enough movie to warrant a career.
And I watched a stand up thing with him and Jason Mewes (Jay from this movies if you weren't aware) and although Jay was way funnier than smith, I didn't find Smith to be unlikable.
Why?

They are making a mallrats 2 I've heard. Considering Mallrats wasn't even very good, I don't see why. Of all the movies Jay and Silent Bob are in, (and I love those two characters) that's easily my least favorite. I'd much rather see clerks 3, or Dogma 2 (although Dogma 1 wasn't ENTIRELY a comedy, but it was mostly one I guess.)
I would be wary of disclosing any mental illnesses you might have on this (or any) forum. Not going to name names, but I can clearly picture certain members, if you post anything they don't like, responding with things like "This coming from somebody with _______", and that would get really irritating.

Well let me be clear. My purpose in that post was not to attack political correctness. I reacted angrily toward political correctness after the fact merely because I felt it was being used to distort the true meaning of my original post.
And in case there is anybody who still doesn't understand the meaning of my post, here's a simplified explanation. Philistine is not a racial slur. I provided the "n-word" as an example of something that is a racial slur to show differentiation between the two, and to say (in my intentions anyway, I suppose I could have made this part clearer but I didn't anticipate the big backlash) that one is acceptable in jokes and humor (philistine) and that the other is unacceptable (the "n-word").
In retrospect I understand both sides of the argument, and I should definitely have not spelled the word out. Now can we please let it go.

I didn't, I was trying to explain why it isn't racist. I was saying phillistine is just a race, like african american, and that it was not like the "n-word". I was saying that spelling out the word was a mistake. Warbler is correct, it was others (don't recall if it was Crow or not) who thought it was racist, and I was saying it wasn't. Or trying to anyway. Clarity in words isn't my strongest quality.

False, it was more of an oversight than anything I didn't anticipate that much of a reaction. I mean if I had used it to label a person or group of people or anything like that I would understand and would have deserved it. Maybe I deserved it anyway, but I hardly see how one post counts as a tirade. I'm sorry that I was so uncouth as to spell out the complete word, I was not advocating it's use as a racial slur, I was merely providing an example of a racial slur. It's true I could have just said "n-word" and gotten the point across, and I probably should have, it was just an f-wording oversight people, J-word C-word, relax and move on, I won't do it again. Anytime you wanna stop talking about it would be fine with me.

Yes. It was a mistake, I shouldn't have said it, but as I've repeatedly said I don't condone it's use it was just an example. Can we please stop the bandwagon now? The first three or four people to reply made their point, and it is a valid one and I concede, there's no need for half a page worth of people repeating it.
