Because it mostly represented the states that seceded to keep slavery?  And I don't mean represents those states NOW as that would be a different story, it represented those states at the time.  Pretty simple to see why that's a bad idea, but what do I know.

 Most peoples ears can't tell a difference.  192 is better for *recording* the audio because it captures more details in the recording process, but once it's recorded downsampling it to 96 or even 48 will be virtually lossless.

But yeah you are definitely right about something not adding up.  There was that story about how he used to work at wal-mart, and had to walk out because he was being "bullied", and was unable to get in touch with wal-mart corporate to get the situation resolved so he had to walk out because he couldn't take it anymore.  

That story never sat right with me, because I work at wal-mart and getting in touch with corporate is not hard.  Like, at all.  I recall a time when one of my co-workers who is deaf (both with and without the "a" :)) kept being asked to work in a situation where she would be expected to answer the phones (which is stupidity beyond my comprehension... I don't know if her supervisor's just kept forgetting because she's so good at reading lips or what...) so she got tired of it and contacted corporate (had one of the assistant managers do it for her) and the whole situation was resolved THE VERY NEXT DAY.  (nice gal too.  And pretty.  Sidebar, she has a thing for me too, and if she didn't have kids I'd totally be into it, but I don't like kids so I pretend like I don't notice when she flirts with me, though it pains me because I actually do like her quite a bit.  But that's a story for another time, one which isn't really worth sharing.  :P)

But anyway, that story he told about not being able to talk to corporate never felt true to me.

You know what's funny about DrCrows sudden departure directly because of gay marriage being legalized in the US(... wtf.  Guess he's moving to Russia or Ethiopia?)  is that I remember this other time he said something like all conservative republicans deserve to be executed, and yes he seriously said that.

I'm not hating the guy, I actually liked his thoughts and enjoyed talking with him outside of the political threads and I honestly hope he comes back, but this has all left me a bit confused.  :S

I don't really think it should be illegal either (although I definitely strongly oppose it being flown in any sort of 'official' sense), I just would like people to see for themselves on a personal level that it's wrong.

Wearing a shirt depicting a movement that was created for the almost sole purpose of being able to own people as property and wearing a shirt expressing freedom to love are so different that I can't even believe you just said that.

 I too was going to start talking about Star Trek: Nemesis until I read the post.

Needless to say, I'm not even going to mention how I actually love Nemesis despite its shortcomings.   I'm not going to mention how, for me, the tone makes up for the plotholes and that the only thing I don't like is Data dying.  Also, I'm not going to bring up how I love the starfield designs in that movie.

If I remember correctly, I think he's said that his current situation makes it difficult for him to leave.  I don't think it's a matter of being antisocial in his case if I'm remembering all the details, but rather of a situation which requires him to remain at home.
