My snes still works perfectly as well. And my grandma has a VCR from 1987 that still works perfectly. I mean it has manual tracking and can only access the mono track of a tape, and can only go up to channel 13, but for the features it was built with it works perfectly.

But it’s a VCR so who gives a sh*t.

I wish there was an official collection of the show XPlay from techtv/g4. I still love the era of gaming that show was thriving in (mostly GameCube/Xbox/ps2 with some Wii and ps3 toward the end) but my collection of games fr that time is pretty bare and xplay was good at helping discwrn what was worth buying. And not only that but the show was pretty damned entertainingvi loved watching it every day on junior high. But other than a few random episodes on YouTube from vhs capture it appears to be lost forever. Which is understand since nobody needs it now but something about it I just love watching.

Super Mario RPG is fantastic. It’s much more of an ‘authentic’ Mario themed rpg than it’s paper sequels. Not surprising since it’s made by square. And it’s hilarious. But it has a much more in depth approach than paper Mario, it’s kind of like a watered down humorous Mario themed final fantasy parody.

It has a walking talking cloud who thinks he’s a frog. Complete with a full soap opera cutsceme for the revelation that this frog isn’t his real grandpa. That’s just good material.

X is the one I bought actually, I saw the ps2 version for literally 4 dollars. I feel overwhelmed by it though because I’m not all that into rpgs and I don’t have the patience to be good at going in depth and leveling up properly, collecting stuff, etc. Truthfully the only ones I’ve ever beaten are Super Mario Rpg, Mega Man X Command Mission, and the Paper Mario games. And while all those games are beautiful as far as Rpgs go they are pretty shallow. I only bought FFX to get immersed in the story and atmosphere.

Info: Evidence of TFA Changes in Blu-ray?

I still thought the BD sound was better than what I heard in theaters. The theater sound didn’t have enough bass, punch, or impact. The star wars theme in the opening crawl didn’t have near the impact I remember it having when I saw ROTS in the same theater. Although it is possible the speakers haven’t been maintained well.

But are we certain there wasn’t multiple sound mixes anyway? And I know I’m in the minority but limiting the center channel (and the center channel only) makes sense. Ensures the dialogue is always clear and constant. To me dialogue shouldn’t vary in actual volume. The acting can Use expression to “imply” difference in volume but the actual volume of the audio should stay constant. Old movies often did this and it worked well. When somebody whispers it’s still the same volume yet there’s no trouble discerning that it’s a whisper.

Note that I’m ONLY talking about the dialogue/center channel.
