Thanks I really appreciate it! I want more people to listen to it because everybody that I strongarm into hearing it usually ends up enjoying it.

Are there any sites I should try posting it on? I’ve also considered making it’s own website because even though they are instrumentals I still tried to make them ‘concept albums’ which is even more strange since they are all covers, but I consciously picked the track listing and added tone/ambiance to get a particular distinct feel for all three (four if you count the one I have done but have not yet released yet:)) of the albums. And starting with album #3 (the one you just listened to) I started incorporating songs from older video games as well as they are usually very smartly crafted to tell a story with only instruments.

My third album, that I released last December, is finally fully available on Soundcloud.

https://soundcloud.com/jacob-martin-28/sets/the-way

It’s primarily instrumental rock/metal, but also a small amount of ambient. All tracks have a symphonic accompaniment as well. There are a few video game remixes and even a couple pop songs as well. Give it a listen! If you’d like a physical copy I’m happy to mail.

Ugh. I’m a manager at Wal-Mart (talk down to me for working at Wal-Mart all you want but management here pays me very comfortably) and I totally lost my cool with a customer today. I don’t feel bad about it either.

Our Wal-Mart has a gas station (an actual wal-Mart gas station not a Murphy’s like some Wal-Mart’s have) and a customer there was so furious about something they demanded to speak with a manager. So I went out there.

So, they wanted to get $4 in gas. (Yes this all happened over $4) They apparently didn’t know how fuel pumps work or something. There was only one attendant on duty and she had a line of customers so she couldn’t just drop them to go pump his gas for him until she got her line down and when there’s input one of them they aren’t supposed to step outside anyway unless it’s an emergency.

Anyway, as I get out there I hear the Bastard screaming at the girl “Well I guess you’re just too stupid to turn the pump on!” because supposedly his gas wouldn’t pump.

So I walked out there with him and proceeded to, without any trouble, pump his gas for him. And, with his recent uncalled for insult on an innocent cashier, I calmly said, “Hey, would you look at that… I pulled the trigger and the gas pumped, imagine that. I guess somebody’s just too stupid to pump gas.”

I don’t feel bad about it either. The trend (in this town anyway) to treat retail employees like absolute garbage knowing they have to just take it is getting old. Normally I would’ve just pumped his gas and left with an obvious smirk but that guy was too much.

Maybe the guy was from my state? We don’t pump our own gas in NJ.

Right, that totally excuses calling me stupid over his mistake. I’m not engaging in a conversation on the evils of Wal-Mart with You from what I’ve seen of others arguing with you is generally useless.

  1. I though he called your coworker stupid, not you.

Ah yes, you’re right. I didn’t fully read your quote of me and forgot which story I told because such things happen so often because people are generally assholes.

The Place to Go for Emotional Support

Have you talked to your supervisor about it?

I ask because I’m a supervisor at Wal-Mart myself and if an employee comes to me with something like this I can usually find something away from people for them to do until they calm down and just having their supervisor know and accept it seems to help.

I have the odd panic attack at work too but working with customers usually makes it go away after a few minutes cuz I’m more focused on them than my chest.

Holy fuck, so much for progress! I had another COMPLETELY random set of compulsions followed by an anxiety attack unlike any I’ve ever had, I actually thought I might go crazy. I’m still sweat hours later, my heartbeat doubled, my hands shook, my face went numb, it was easily of the scariest experiences I’ve ever had. I think I’ll hope for a heart attack from it if that shit happens again. Don’t know if I can hide it from my parents. I dot know what the fuck to do. I’m amazed I managed to make it through the rest of my work shift. Jesus fucking Christ. That was…God.

Just a tidbit as it’s somethi,g I used to freak out about when I had panic attacks and it would make it worse: the chances of having a heart attack from a panic attack are very, very slim unless you have a preexisting heart condition. My doctor (back when I went to the doctor, which hasn’t been since 2013) once told me that for a healthy person your heart could literally beat like that for days and days on end without harm.

The Drunk Thread (was: The Durnk Thread)
Time

I’ve been on a mini-4 day vacation. I go back tomorrow. I should not be left unsupervised for that long. I’ve drank about 100 dollars away in these 4 days. And not in a bar or on expensive wine. I mean $100 of grocery store whiskey and vodka. Not the dirt cheap stuff but still plenty for one person to drink.

Its intense. My skin has lost all it’s color and my eyes are so sunk in and baggy. Detoxing at work is going to be Hell tomorrow. At least I’ll be with my loves.
