Fuck you.

Just kidding. Always funny, right?

This is the kinda discourse I know and love.

Honestly fuck you. What about the kind of discourses you don’t know? You’re saying you only love the kind of discourse you’re familiar with?

I don’t care what you think.

I care, but only because everything he says is both wrong and stupid.

Dom: Wrong and Stupid

Found his autobiography title.

I just want to step in and say one more thing before warb comes in and sighs all the fun away and tells us we can’t do it in his house.

I mean thread.

If it bothers you, practice not taking things so personally, or don’t be around those who bother you.

It is the lack of control over the issue that makes me mad. There are avenues but past experience says it will do me no good.

Don’t try to control the issue. Control yourself. If you can’t control your emotional reaction, control your exposure to the offense. Darth Id used to really bother me. But this is the cold Internet, people act rude, and I decided I don’t care if he insults me anymore. Usually, I ignore him, but when he does try to insult me, I just don’t let it get to me. Ignore what you don’t like, or get away from the situation. You are clearly a nice guy, but you let too much bother you, and try too hard to control the direction of the forum. Accept what you can’t control, and control what you can, and you will be a lot happier here.

Thick skin, thick skin, thick skin, no-one cares, I’m never right, move along, got it.

This persecution complex is why you don’t enjoy yourself here and is why people get annoyed. Honestly I thought you were doing great until you happened to notice an almost two week old comment.

If you need to B*tch about something other than originaltrilogy.com... This is the place

Thanks bud.

Now I have another complaint.

The amount of hoops you have to jump through to play a damn blu ray on Windows 8 is absurd. You’d think getting a blu ray drive would be enough but nope. Have to find a separate program. They disabled it in Windows media player and I can’t get vlc to work either. The only free program I could get to play it was neavo, but the sound wouldn’t work properly. I have the pc hooked to my receiver with hdmi. For some reason when i select hdmi for sound in this program it won’t play any sound. I have to hit analog… Which still sends the sound through the HDMI (wtf) but only in stereo. I don’t understand why it can’t just use direct sound or whatever to just use the default sound for my computer so I could have surround. It’s just a basic down mix too from what I can tell. If it would at least matrix it so I could use the pro logic II song on my receiver then I could live with that but I don’t think it does. My soundcard has an automatic matrix downmixer for 5.1 audio on the fly but I’m pretty sure this program is doing it’s regular down mix before it even gets to that so it didn’t helpo this instance.

So I guess I’m just going to have to bite the bullet and upgrade the powerdvd and hope it sends the audio in 5.1. But even if it doesn’t I should still be able to to use my sound cards down mixer and get a surround experience that’s at least close. (I can honestly barely tell the difference between dolby surround and discrete surround anyway other than the fact that dolby surround needs less bit rate to sound good…)

Video Games - a general discussion thread

I just replayed the original Super Mario Kart for the first time in years and it got me thinking about how there are very rarely any near-impossibly difficult video games released these days. The ones that are definitely aren’t as popular as they were back then either.

The Mega Man X games for super Nintendo come to mind. You better spend the time finding all the upgrades or ingest some dangerous illegal substances if you want to finish those. Especially the third one. They sure are a blast though. Exorbitant once you get really good and master the nuances of the dashing and jumping and wall climbing it becomes a very satisfying experience.

Speaking of the third one I recently discovered a romhack that lets you play as zero unlimited like in the PlayStation titles. (Original would only let you use him once a level, couldn’t fight bosses, and if you died once with him he was out.)

The guy that made it is working on implementing this into the second one as well

'97 vs. '04 (and '11) - Your preference?

Can anyone specify which edition has the superior sound mix – '97 or 2011? Not sure if there is that much of a difference at all, but I recall hearing great things about the 97 DTS mix.

In my opinion, the 1997 mix is the best overall for star wars/anh. Aside from content changes it sounds better than the original mixes by a long shot. The music actually sounds full and lush, in the original mixes the music sounded weak and muffled and sort of tinny. The sound effects are powerful too. Also it doesn’t have the problem that the 04 and onward mixes having with the dialogue quality changing with every other line. I seriously can’t believe they let that go it sounded horrible especially since it wasn’t necessary as the previous mixes didn’t have it.

For Empire, 2011 is best. For Jedi, 2004 is best because it’s basically 2011 sans vaders no.
