A collection of nine covers/reimaginings by our own Possessed! The led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden tracks were the only original versions I was familiar with going in, so I have nothing to compare the other tracks to. Each track is great! Blistering riffs that’ll make you see speedlines! The Zep/Maiden tracks stand out because I know the originals. Both are great versions that change things up enough to be interesting while being recognizable enough to feel familiar.

As far as I know, this guy hasn’t killed anyone or committed any acts of violence. Until he breaks some law, he has as much right to be a nazi someone does to be a member of BLM. That is the way America works.
You can absolutely be fired for your political beliefs in America – that’s how America has worked every day since its inception. Whether that’s a good or bad thing, and whether we should change the way America works so that you can’t do this, is open for discussion.
Again, being a Nazi isn’t equivalent to being a member of BLM, in the same sense that being a cannibal is not equivalent to being a vegetarian.
The way America works is if you can be fired by being a Nazi, you can also be fired for being a member of BLM.

I disagree with that. My views are my own.
To elaborate on this, you should see that there are many issues wherein Frink and I disagree, particularly the MAC vs. PC and anime issues. I wouldn’t be comfortable with myself if I were changing my views simply to advance status on this forum.
I was (mostly) teasing. I mean, Frink’s humor is great, and I think many of us aspire to win some approval from him.
I pretty much approve of every regular here, except the obvious ones that pretty much everyone else also disapproves of. You know who they are.

I liked the boyfriend line, and Maz. I think it was more just that some of it disrupted the tone for me. The “i’m with the resistance, this is what we look like” being the worst for me. But there were plenty of other examples of humor from fin that did work for me, so it’s not that I just don’t like the character or anything like that.

I suppose I don’t “insist” on calling them that, but I could do without him destroying his computers when he doesn’t get his way.
I’m not really sure about the humor. I don’t know if I disliked the humor itself or just didn’t like the placement.
Some examples of humor I didn’t like:
“Obviously. I’m with the resistance yeah. I’m with the resistance. This is what we look like. Some of us look different.”
“I bypassed the compressor!” (Not really humor but I always disliked that line for some reason)
Han and Rey finishing each other’s sentences on the falcon early on seemed cheesy to me.
“I’ll talk my way out of it. Yes I do, every time!”
“When has that ever helped? And don’t say the death star”.
“Is there a garbage shoot? Trash compactor?”
A couple other examples I’ve forgotten now. Mostly had to do with it throwing off the tone for me than the humor itself. But some of the humor I did like. I like bb8s thumbs up, and while a lot of people disliked fins “you gotta boyfriend? Cute boyfriend?” line I actually liked it. I liked most of fins humor actually just a couple instances I thought it was too much.
Just watched it again for the first time in about a year. I still loved it. Honestly I wasn’t even bothered by some of the similarities to ANH. The only thing I would change is cut down on some of the humor and trim Kylo rens temper tantrums. Maybe after I do my eventual rotj fan edit.
Sadly my Swype had learned enough about me that it only makes minor mistakes nor shop I guess this thread is dead. What a shame, it was fun.

Just watched The Force Awakens for the first time in about a year.
I still liked it.
Very engaging, great score and tone. The only things that bothered me was some (not all! But some) of the humor, and Kylo rens temper tantrums. The former could very easily have the worst of it edited out with the best attempts left in and it would work I think, the latter I would probably have to just live with since it happens in vital scenes and is too integrated into the fabric of the scene.
Overall I’d have to say it’s a 7/10, but the 70% that I do enjoy I enjoy a lot.
I’d like to think Jesus Christ, who was supposed to be the epitomy of a perfect human being, would have thicker skinned than that. I mean we are made in God’s image, so would not God have a sense of humor also?
Also I think it’s evident Jesus was merely being used as a device for humor. I would pretty confidently say that there was no disrespect intended to him or his message, and thus I choose to believe that Christ himself would not be offended. He was a human who, as a human, would no doubt have a sense of humor. Not saying he would necessarily find it funny, but being all knowing and loving (not mocking) I doubt he would be sending somebody to hell over a lighthearted ribbing.
I would probably start to get annoyed at South Park if I were him though… But that’s probably it. Annoyed. We are supposed to be made in God’s image our we not? So wouldn’t God have a sense of humor? Possibly the most perfect sense of humor?
I’ve often wondered about this. If God and Jesus is perfect, and we got all of our good qualities from them, would that mean that God is the most hilarious thing you’ll ever encounter? And I mean no disrespect by that it’s a genuine thought.
I know this isn’t the thread for this but it was relevant to the discussion directly at hand.
Virtualdub can do this also, you’ll just have you use avisynth to import the streams.
