Will a completed version of the scene be uploaded independently for editors at some point? I think plenty of people would like to slot it into Hal’s edit or possibly merge it with an extended version of AOTC for a super extended version.
Which editor(s) are you making this request to?
I personally think it flows better going right before the elevator scene. Though I guess if you share the redone scene by itself anyone could make an edit putting it wherever they want.
I tried that, however for my edit it just didn’t work. The placement of this scene will differ from edit to edit!
I’ve put the training sequence after the assassination attempt on Padme’s life, and before the deleted scene of Padme addressing the Senate.
I’ve adjusted Anakin’s voice to match how he sounded in AOTC.
The user Phase3 is planning to incorporate it into his ‘streamlined’ edit. He has mentioned on the fanedit forums that he was almost done with the edit. He is more active there.
The scene has finally been finished; I made more adjustments to the SFX and colours, and I’m happy with it now.
The AOTC Streamlined edit is nearly done, however I haven’t had as much time to work on the edit lately as I would like…
Great work there! 👍🏼👍🏼
Fantastic! Please let us all know when it’s ready!
Will you be making a separate audio track available, that we can add into our copies of the edit?
That’s a subtle, but fantastic change!
The explosion with no shake, plus Yavin in there looks great!
The colour correction looks fantastic!
The pink hues throughout the Tatooine sequences always looked wrong; if you could restore them to a proper sand colour, then that would be amazing!
The cc is working out better than expected.

Do you mean this shot?
Comp (WIP)
Here it is with the lightsaber:
ignore the color issues.
That looks fantastic! I hope that you include it in V2! 😀👍🏼
You could access the US Apple site whilst using a VPN if that helps?

I don’t have any Apple products or accounts, so I can’t sign in and buy it…
It’s available on the Google Play store, however it doesn’t state if it’s the 1.2GB version or not:

The ones I have are 304x640, which came out of an .epub file, of which I don’t even remember where it came from. They look decent when upscaled, but still not amazing.
My .epub file is 519mb, and according to the Apple Books website, their version is 1.2gb, so it seems that the video files would be a lot better.
I can’t buy or download that version of the eBooks (looks like they aren’t avalible in Australia?) but it looks pretty confirmed that the video files would look a lot better. Best way to get it would be to download it to an iPhone/iPad/iPad, and sync it to a PC/Mac, and then figure out how to extract it from there.
Hopefully someone is able to get that raw ebook file, I’d love to crack into it and get the higher res video files. Would do wonders for many projects around here.
Well done! What is the new plugin you acquired?
That shot looks great!
Looks good!!
Glad to hear you’re getting back into the edit!
Looks good!
I just watched the smaller encode version, and mate you have made a fantastic edit! I thoroughly enjoyed watching it; the colours are beautiful, it sounds great, and the visual changes you made all look fantastic.
Thank you for sharing your hard work with the fan edit community!! 😃
I echo what cOrpze wrote; a lot of the edit had some good parts, however a lot of it seemed a bit off and unfinished too. Various parts of the film that were truncated or cut didn’t have smooth audio or video cuts, and were quite noticeably cut.
Endor now looks far too yellow, and the scale and perspective of the re-done Death Star and Endor shots look incorrect. I could go on, however I think that cOrpze covered the other noticeable things in the edit.
Using non-ROTJ music seems out of place, and many editing choices seemed to be borne out of a subjective dislike of the film and story, rather than making cuts in order to improve the film. The story is the most important part; removing things simply out of disliking them (such as removing Ewoks, Obi-Wan’s “point of view” line, and most of the Jabba’s Palace sequence etc) detracts from the overall story, and breaks the flow of the film.
To each his own; it’s your edit, so you can do things however you wish!
Hahaha nice one!
That’s great news!
Thanks for all of the work you’ve put into this!

Will you eventually provide a higher quality version? The artifacts from the video compression are pretty clear and distracting.Something seems off with the overall sound mix. I have a 7.2.2 system and no matter what I do with the receiver the audio that should be on the center channel comes out from other speakers. It also suffers from heavy compression.
i made the 5.1 channels into 6 mono channels which seems like the best option. even pixeljoker does it this way. i exported it as 5.1 so i should be fine i guess. it sounds pretty okay to me.
I also found the artifacts a bit distracting too…Also, I played it through both my laptop and TV, and the audio didn’t sound great.
Will you be addressing the compression issue in an updated version?
Would you happen to have a regular stereo track, as opposed to separate mono tracks?
Aside from the audio and compression issues, the edit was enjoyable!
Would it be possible to temporarily shift a few folders from your Hard Drive to an online file storage system?
That might free up the space you need?
Alternatively, can you borrow an external Hard Drive?
So I’m having a bit of an issue.
After rendering the file to my external drive, It doesnt open and instead sends me an error message like this:
I’ve tried to render a portion to my internal drive and it seems fine.
but the problem is that my internal drive is almost full and can’t hold a 30GB file.
what do I do?I also tried converting it via AVIDEMUX but that doesn’t seem to work either.
I’m using Davinci resolve for rendering BTW.
I’d love to see your edit; I hope that you can finish it!
Sorry to hear about the computer hassles…that’s frustraing.
