Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist
Time

I'm sure from that vantage point they would see the Death Star surface. if you bring the space battle closer to them (like it should be) then adding the Death Star surface is probably necessary anyway.

did anyone notice that the tower actually has 4 large rooms with a big window at the end like where Luke duels with Vader? the other three sides of the tower have duplicate rooms I guess. the others are probably sleeping quarters for royal guards, those old dark force guys, emperor's bedroom..

Here's some Ralph Mcquarrie Coruscant art.

Honestly, I doesn't really look much different than how it ended up in the prequels, same with Aldeeran. About the Jedi robes: how would you explain why Yoda, Ben and Anakin all wear Jedi robes as ghosts in the end of ROTJ?

Obi-Wan wore Tattooine farmer clothes like Owen. That much is obvious. I figure that Yoda made his from some material he had hanging around after his original clothing wore out on Dagobah perhaps. Or perhaps to set Yoda apart he always wore some basic scruffy robes. And Anakin appearance shows how he's in harmony with them. Like how he would have appeared if he stayed on Tattooine to farm moisture with Owen (brother/step-brother/whatever).

Plus it makes sense that Luke's attire in ROTJ was based on what the Jedi wore except more minimalist.

Ah, you saw the prequels first - that explains why you're much, much, much more willing to preserve some of George's ideas than we are.

To me, the PT took everything I loved about the OT and made it pretty much irrelevent. The Jedi were NOTHING like they were depicted in the originals, the Republic wasn't a Republic, and the Clone Wars made no sense, among other problems (i.e. the whole movies feeling like the Endor and Tattooine scenes of ROTJ, a flawed film I'm working on fixing for my first fan edit).

Even though I saw the prequels first I still prefer the OT. There are a lot of things I look back and dislike about the PT. They were not great movies to be blunt. The OT (or at least ANH and ESB) deserves a special place in the history of American cinema and the PT does not. However, I believe the PT contained some smart ideas and even small moments of brilliance hidden under the thin veneer of crap. The PT was poorly executed but they were not devoid of worth and TPM and ROTS were both enjoyable. I would intend to preserve George's ideas that make sense and add to the "saga" and throw out those that don't. Some of the ideas mentioned in this thread don't sit well with me because they completely throw off the whole idea of the "saga" being about the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker which I always thought needs to be the overarching message and should still be preserved. Again, the overarching story I have never seen as bad, it's all in the execution, how George develops these themes he's decided to focus on.

It would make much more sense if the Dark Side has eaten him alive by the time the prequels come around than have him disfigured in a force lightning accident (surely Luke got as much if not more exposed to that trick than Palps did but I didn't notice him getting all pruned up).

I liked the irony of it. As if it's an ability he shouldn't even wield, since if deflected right back it's extremely poisonous. They can't take a dose of their own medicine you know.

essentially these prequels and any version of these prequels ARE sequels. if you view them you watch OT first then prequels. i'm afraid if you really absolutely feel like the surprises must be kept in the prequels it's going to get pretty convoluted. so ease down on keeping the secret identity of Vader and Yoda's physical appearance and whatever else. that's not the point here.

Don't need no Qui-Gon. Original script just had Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan actually pretty much acted like Qui-Gon and talked like him. if i remember correctly.

Remember back in ANH Od Ben mentioned Owen not wanting Anakin getting involved with the Clone Wars. Aunt Beru remarked that Luke was not a farmer he had too much of his father him in and Owen was like "that's what I'm afraid of". There was a lot of familiarity there. Maybe they were brothers. why couldn't they be?

Vader would have no reason to go there if he had no knowledge of his offspring. And his brother was of no importance to him.

Clone Wars should be between Mandalorian clones and Republic Clones. though Palpatine should still be the one behind it all. it would require at least a newly designed Clonetrooper helmet. One scene could have Boba Fett in battle taking out a load of Clonetroopers single handedly using his flamethrower or something. but there shouldn't be any more of him seen at all

no more farmer's robes as Jedi clothing. should be more like the Phantom Menace concept art and ROTS concept art for Anakin. they are much more closely related to Luke's attire in ROTJ.
