I thought those two guys were using the Blockade Runner's own guns and they were in the cockpit of the ship

R2 units could be modified into assassin droids too. they could be quite good at it with those jets lol
Wait why do they have runways?

It's like people say 'why don't they just fly above the trees?' in the speeder bike scene. Doesn't always make sense. Wouldn't be nearly exciting otherwise. In the case of the walkers, I would think the AT-AT would do better than the AT-ST, but still a tad cramped in the middle of a forest. :p
To be fair, the Biker Scouts were trying to evade Luke & Leia. And I'm sure during their regular patrols they fly through the forest on the lookout for enemies anyway. Flying above the tree line wouldn't do any good for that.
I'm not sure what you guys are questioning about it... Luke is coming directly out of the side hatch of the AT-AT. So the AT-AT's main body is straight lined up to the end of that platform. Perhaps it is awkwardly positioned against the tree for support... though it seems incredibly lazy not to figure out another way.
And for the platform and the immediate area to match up you could either remove the trees you see in Luke & Vader's scene or you could add in all those trees in the other shots but then it would probably cover up much of the lower half of the platform. probably the reason for the discrepancy in the first place.
I would assume the Empire wouldn't leave behind huge trees to get in the way of AT-ATs docking to the platforms. They cleared that space when they put that thing in.
The platform doesn't match either of those shots.
And this is just pitiful.
Those trees shouldn't even be there behind them.
Hey did anyone ever notice that the cave on Dagobah is partially an ancient structure? right before Vader appears you can tell it's like an arch or something. i'd never noticed it before until the other day.
shame on Lucas for not having anything dealing with that in the prequels. he probably didn't even remember.
His snout is actually stitched up and attached to his face. that's what it looks like anyway
Resizing it just a little can make a lot of difference
The AT-ST view port has never bothered me but they do need a radar display grid on those screens for sure. No holograms try to keep it within OT technology style. perhaps for camouflaged Imperials this pattern would do well? Seems Star Warsy to me.
Well i suppose his relatively normal skin although quite pale could be explained by Star Wars healing technology advanced skin regeneration what-not.
Maybe it was reconstructive surgery and metal plating in his head... i'm not so sure that at the time the idea was that Anakin had merely been burned by lava one way or another.
Even when Vader picked up the Emperor in ROTJ and he's getting hit by force lightning having an x-ray type effect you can see in an instant that Vader has some artificial metal vertebrae in his neck.
Does Vader/Anakin there really look like he was a burn victim? more like light saber scarring and major radiation.
does anyone know if at the time of filming he was meant to have been burned in the past?
Flee or surrender- why did they stop fighting?

Proof, please.
uh.... the fact that the Battle ends at that point?
Call me crazy but i thought the CG'd version of THX 1138 was an improvement. i mean there was actually some smart decisions there

Anyone see the end of Farscape? spoilers for the END here.
yeah Beru is quite the GILF.
but there's nothing that indicates that Obi-Wan lies about anything else except Vader.
the worst set piece is Luke stepping off the AT-AT and talking to Vader on that walkway. behind them you see the AT-AT's head awkwardly placed up against a big tree. like they couldn't figure out another way to hold the head up? yeah great idea slam it up against a tree that wasn't even there in the previous shot. it takes me out of the film.
Yoda shouldn't have a green light saber because when i see it's like Lucas thought "well he's green his light saber should be green too! the kids will like that!"
adywan said:yeh, ROTJ:R needs to be done before i tackle the PT because i need as much practice at new FX skills as possible to tackle those films and ROTJ will be a great stepping stone to get those skills. I'm hoping to replace some of the obvious CG backgrounds, eg the jedi temple, with physical models
wow so hopefully the prequels won't look like videogames anymore!
yeah i don't get how she jammed all their comlinks. makes for a nice chase sequence though
i meant that if they weren't being chased they would drive around more slowly... mechanical walkers would be too slow. bikes glide over the shrubbery
it makes perfect sense to use that mode of transportation in the forests.
bear in mind that those piloting the speeder bikes would normally cruise around at a moderate pace easily minding their surroundings. once the Rebels showed up they had to get out of there fast and try alerting the base (although Leia jammed their comlinks by pressing something)
Chrille said:I think the biggest problem with this movie is the battle of Endor. The ground portion of it, anyway. IMO, it simply looks childish the way the Ewoks are taking out the storm troopers. They hit them with sticks and punches them, yet it is plainly obvious that their blows aren't forceful at all. It looks almost like their poking them. The battle is played for laughts, which it shouldn't be. The battles of Hoth and Yavin were serious without cartoony humour.
Those who defend the battle usually say that the ewoks were loosing, that it was only Chewie stealing the scout walker that changed the course and brought the battle arround. Fair enough, but the movie does not convey this fact. Before that point, the movie shows plenty of ewoks ambushing storm troopers, but only a measly 1 ewok gets killed. Compare that to the novel, where the ewoks are almost slaughtered, but their great strenght in numbers assures that they keep on coming.
I'm not sure if and how Ady would do it, but ROTJ would benefit greatly from cutting the silliest, most unconvincing parts, and somehow add many more ewok causulties. Not that we need to linger on them, like with Corpsey (yes, that's his name apparantly), but just show it in passing. How that would be done is another matter though.
Yes and even the Stormtroopers just stumble around like idiots or when they do find the rebels they tell them to freeze instead of taking them out. the whole battle is a farce. how can all this be fixed short of going out to the redwood forest and filming new scenes?
