Is there a 2001 reference in AOTC?
Time
a movie that Lucas has previously criticised for dwelling too much on its own set design accomplishments rather than drive the story forward

I'm pretty sure it was his idea, on the Episode III commentary Rob Coleman says that Lucas asked for it to be put there as an homage to Kubrick. I'm also sure that he loves 2001. Lucas was interviewed for the new Kubrick collection, and appears on a few of the documentaries in that set. The longest segment with Lucas is on the 2001 documentary, where he explains that he loves 2001 because its a mainly visual film, and that he found it inspiring that someone could make a successful visual film. Lucas says that he probably would not have made Star Wars if Kubrick hadn't made 2001 (or something to that effect).

Ewoks complete project (Completed)
Time
The official release consists of two made-for-home-video movies (at least I know the second one was definitely made for video). By this I mean they were haphazardly put together by editing together episodes of the series to be feature length (kinda like the Young Indy series official release). The second 'movie' suffers most because there is no story arc, it really seems like a bunch of episodes without credits in between. Because of this there are many episodes left unreleased.

IMHO, the Ewoks cartoons aren't the greatest, but they're not bad either. I like some of the stories, and I do find it moderately entertaining. For me there is also a nostalgia element. Anyway, I do suggest giving them a view at some point.

Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist
Time
I've got a few ideas. I always thought it would be neat if a few rebel fighters crashed into the death star shield when they all pull up right before the battle in ROTJ (like they originally planed). Also, as I'm sure many people know, Vader is holding Luke's lightsaber when he taunts luke (when Luke is hiding). Instead of digitally erasing the saber in Vader's hand, I've always wanted to see the saber fly out of Vader's hand (assuming that Luke retrieved it with the force). Unnecessary, I know, but I've always thought it would be cool. It would also be cool to see gunner stations inside the death star (like originally planed, or at least toyed with). Maybe cloned elements from Episode IV could be used.

Something that always bothered me in ROTJ is a big black matte that covers half the screen when Vader is kicked down the stairs during the lightsaber duel. Its at the end of Vader's fall, right before the cut to the next shot. I guess it was done to cover up a crew member or some kind of goof. I always thought Lucas should have fixed whatever goof was there originally for the special editions, without covering half the screen. It would be cool if the actual background (what should be there) was matted into the shot to replace the black area.

Well, thats all I've got for now.

Episode 3 - Editing Back in Progress (* unfinished project *)
Time
I was just listening to GM's Episode III soundtrack, and I noticed a small portion of (what I think to be) unused music, music that I really like. I guess it was cut because the scene was slightly reworked or something. It's just the small action-ish bit at the beginning of Enter Lord Vader (track 07 on disc 2). I just love it, and think it would be neat to re-incorporate it in your edit, not sure where it would fit though.

//RETURNING TO JEDI\\: NTSC & PAL DVD
Time
I am pretty darn sure that in an early Jedi trailer there is an alternate angle of Han breaking into the shield bunker that you did not include. I'm also pretty sure that in an old Jedi trailer there's a longer version of the shot where Leia looks at the camera on the sail barge, long enough to see some of her taking out that gunner (from that close-up angle). I think you can actually see her swing that electric halberd weapon before she looks at the camera. It'd be cool if these shots were in there.

By the way, I just love Building Empire and Returning to Jedi.

Episode 3 - Editing Back in Progress (* unfinished project *)
Time
I'll hopefully have a preliminary title crawl with 20th Century Fox Fanfare done and posted by the end of this weekend.

Neato!

Title suggestion: Rise of the Sith

Why I think its an alright title: I was originally going to suggest something with Jedi in the title like Fall of the Jedi, but then I realized I wanted something with a bit more of an active voice. Instead of the fall of something, I prefer the rise of something else. Return of the Jedi could have been Fall of the sith, but I don't think that's a very good title.

In terms of titles, not that I really don't like yours, I just don't like having 'the' at the beginning. Also, it is just my opinion, however I don't like Besieged. To me it just seems too fancy, and a little specific. Not to say that I dislike good word use, I just don't think its in keeping with the other titles. Not very serial. It needs to be an almost lame title, something kinda nerdy but in the end not really. I can't really explain what I mean better than that. I am also a bit curious as to why you really don't like Revenge of the Sith.

About the music thing. I too just love some of the music in gladiator. I guess all I'm saying is that I want Gladiator's music to remind me only of Gladiator. I'm mainly hoping that the stuff you want to use isn't the parts written by Hans Zimmer. I'm sort of against his stuff because, with the exception of Hannibal and Gladiator, I think its all a bit too similar. I really just don't want Star Wars to remind me of Zimmer's scores. He dosen't even write the best parts of his scores, for example he did not write Vide Cor Meum (the opera piece) in Hannibal, it was actually written by a fellow named Patrick Cassidy and only produced by Zimmer.

I look forward to the new crawl.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
I have a somewhat silly suggestion. In Episode II, when Jango Fett is walking up the ramp into Slave I as it takes off, he bumps his head as he goes in. Rob Coleman says on the commentary that Jango was clumsy and that it was "cloned into the stormtroopers" (whatever that means) and that's why one of the troopers in the death star bumps his head in A New Hope, (I think you know the one I mean). It was just a way to explain away an error in A New Hope, but might it be neat if there was a somewhat muted Temura Morrison"aghh" when the trooper hits his head? Hmmm.

On a completely different note, I noticed something not good in the garbage masher scene. I know it's quite late in the game and that this is probably common knowledge, but during a shot in the garbage masher Leia's dress has completely ripped down the side. All the way from the bottom up to almost the waist. Is this something you've fixed ady?

Episode 3 - Editing Back in Progress (* unfinished project *)
Time
I'm pretty sure that (anyone correct me if I'm wrong) the Sith want revenge for being cast out of the order or something like that. Ever see Star Trek: Insurrection? I always kinda thought of them like the Sona in that film (to some extent anyway). The Sith are also definitely looking for revenge because Darth Maul says it in Episode I, "at last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi, at last we will have revenge." I feel that it works with Return of the Jedi because a Jedi will not seek revenge, but a Sith sure will. It goes back to when they made the title for Jedi, which I'm sure you know was originally Revenge of the Jedi. The title was changed for the reason that I stated earlier, and because Episode III is about a Sith, it just seems fitting. To me it seems that Anakin hopes to get revenge in some form as well, against the Jedi Order and his master for not trusting him or something. He feels that they are stunting his growth as a Jedi and not taking him seriously, like he said "it's just not fair!" He also thinks they're lying to him, "I know there are things about the force that they're not telling me." So I guess if you are as misguided as Anakin, you might want revenge.

Overall, though, I wasn't really impressed (prepare for blaspemy!) with Williams' work for most of the prequel films

BLASPHEMY! Of course you are entitled to your opinion. But you should really take into account that a fair amount of his work for Episodes I and II was edited and tracked beyond recognition. I hope you don't replace too much. You should listen to the stuff on GoodMusician's complete score that was not used in the film.

Also one last thing about the crawl, I don't like Jedis either, forgot to mention it. Again, other than that, great.
