Millennium (1996 FOX TV) DVD Restoration/Upscale Project (RELEASED)
Time

Thank you so much … having just checked a few scenes, I must say this looks spectacular!

I wish someone would do such a thing for the TNG era Star Trek series’, especially DS9 and Voyager. As someone who is not a fan of recreated special effects, I’d love to see TNG itself getting this treatment as well. But I gues that will never happen.

Info: Star Trek HD Caps

Do you have a program to use for reading the newsgroups?

Thanks! No, I don't have a program yet. I had figured out how to download from the newsgroups ages ago, for the exact same reason. I downloaded HD Caps of TMP, TUC and FC back in 2007 I think. But never went back to the newsgroups after that, so I guess I'll have to figure out how it works again.

Is there a program that you can recommend? Something small and easy?

List of Blu-ray with altered aspect ratios

It belongs in the other thread then. What's on the BD is not an alteration.

Right; as I'd like to continue with this list, and AFAIK Star Trek III had the same variable AR also in theaters, I should delete it. So it is now deleted.

The AR of TSFS HAS been altered for the BD release. On both of the prior DVD releases, the opening credits are the same AR as the rest of the movie.

That's why I stopped myself from sharing it on the Trek BBS ... I think the "Thomas calls Marcus" clip would have ended at least one discussion over there.

So I going through my video on demand (the cable channel Epix in the US) and the copy of ST:ID is 16:9 the whole way through. I'm wondering if someone can rebuild the Imax version from this. Does anyone know which parts of the movie were filmed with the Imax cameras?

Can you tell if there is actually more picture on the top and bottom or if it's cropped at the sides?

The Blu Rays all have the same song for the bar scene, right? The UK version has "The Growl" by Conway.

Edit: I just checked my UK Blu Ray again, and although the end credits only list The Growl, there are different versions for the English audio (The Rage In Us All) and the Spanish/Italian (The Growl), as well as the French audio (I Wanna Race With You).

Interestingly enough, the German Blu Ray features The Growl on the German audio track and The Dark Collide (the supposed Australian variant!) on the English audio track!

I have a bunch of trailers on my hard drive, downloaded from the iTunes site back then. If they are needed for the project, just ask me. They are not rare or anything, though ... and I suspect that most of us have them already.

The Hendrickson name for Harrison/Khan is interesting however.

Wasn't it Erickson?

I agree that the Pike/Kirk scene works much better in the final movie, the only two scenes I would have kept in the movie are the ones about Carol's accent (blends in flawlessly into the scene) and the one where Scotty gains access to the Io facility (which is at least trying to explain how he has gotton in there so easily).

This thread is only 4 pages long. What I wrote was on the last page. Does one really need a search engine for that? ;)

It is 7 pages long for me. And despite reading through ALL the pages again, I couldn't find the hint I was looking for. Maybe it's a simple misunderstanding ... you said:

Yes. I was including it.

Maybe what you meant instead is: "Yes. I'm going to include it"? That would make a lot more more sense, since you obviously haven't uploaded anything yet.

It would be nice if you cleared this up before we fill another three pages with this discussion.

Oso -- need any help getting the extras/bonus from bluray->computer->MySpleen?

Thanks for the offer, but I think you misunderstood. I have already ripped the Target exclusive special features from the disc and put them on MySpleen. I didn't convert them to mkv though, but left the m2ts files as they were.

What we need now is the Best Buy Bonus Disc ... if there is any. The Best Buy content seemed to be available through streaming only, and some say that they have been on a DVD ... but is there a BluRay as well?

Once the project is complete, would someone be willing to burn all the bonus material to blu-ray discs for me (doesn't matter how many discs it takes, as long as I have everything). I don't have a blu-ray burner so I couldn't do anything with the HD files except play them on my computer.  I will gladly share any rare DVDs and fan edits I have in exchange.

I have never made a BD before, and we are missing the Best Buy disc anyway ... does anyone have it? I mean the actual disc?

 DVD or Blu-Ray?

Maybe some torrent tracker?

BluRay. It's 13 parts in total, six of them are on the standard release as well. And there are three trailers.

I'm not quite sure about where to upload this stuff. Is it allowed on MySpleen?
