I have TMP, TUC and FC in full hd resolution on my hard drive, downloaded it years ago. It's from an HBO broadast, as far as I remember.

Are you able to upload them to the newsgroups?

I had registered to the newsgroups for a test period only, just to get those movies. I'm not in there anymore, and I only remember very vaguely how it works.

But I could try to upload it somewhere else. Am I allowed to upload such material on myspleen? Or is there any other place I could upload the movies safely?

P.S. TMP looks like upscaled SD, so I don't think it would be worth much to anyone. TUC looks somewhat better, and FC looks like true HD.I

Can you grab shots? I only have the SD Itunes TWOK

Hmmm ... looking at the screenshots now, I'm not so sure anymore if this really is pre-DNR:

What about the HD versions on iTunes? I have downloaded the directors editions of TWOK and TUC and they are pre-DNR, possibly the same transfer as the 2 DVD editions that came out about ten years ago.

But what about the theatrical cuts? Are they the same as the current Blu Rays or are they old transfers as well? Does anybody know?

RELEASED: "Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Special Longer Version)"
Time

Thank you very much, FanFiltration! I haven't been able to watch the whole movie yet, but what I saw looked amazing! Finally, we've got the SLV in widescreen and on DVD!

On the anamorphic topic, I think it actually IS anamorphic ... the information is just missing in the IFO file, so the picture looks squeezed on the computer as well as on tv. In both cases you would have to adjust the width manually. I recommend using a program called IfoEdit to fix this before you burn the movie onto DVD. Just load the IFO file and change the settings from 4:3 to 16:9, then save the file and everything's gonna be fine.

How to change HD to DVD?
Time

I found a program called "DelayCut", which cuts the delay off the audio file. You just have to know what the excat delay value is, but that's written into the filename that DGIndex put out.

Then I loaded the AVI script (with only the telecide and decimate commands) and the audio file into DVD Flick, which did the rest ... resizing, remuxing, authoring. I am now adding chapters with TMPGEnc.

The only strange thing left now is that there should be very thin black bars above and below the picture. But there is no black bar above the picture, instead there is a black bar double the normal size below the picture. It's only visible on TV, not on PC. But that's a very minor problem that probably nobody will notice.

Everything worked out fine, finally! But I never could have done it without your help! So, if there is anything I can do for you ... maybe a copy of the movie in question?

How to change HD to DVD?
Time

It seems that thanks to your help, I have finally figured it out! I now have a working DVD (23.976 fps) and everything seems to be fine. After taking all the necessary steps one by one, I even found a program that can do the frame conversion, the resizing and the muxing all in one. It needed ten hours on my old computer, but it worked.

But both methods have one last problem in common: The audio is not in sync with the video. I'm ashamed to say that I know next to nothing about dvd authoring ... can you recommend a program that can solve my problem? I know I have to change the delay of the audio file, but how?

Edit: It seems that I have found a solution for the problem ...

I think I finally figured out what you are talking about. I can only thank you for your patience!

So, I have demuxed the original file and I have written the script. When I'm watching the file using the script, it seems to work.

Now, my next problem is this: How to I apply the script to my video file? AvsP can only convert to MP4 and Virtual Dub only to AVI. How to I get an MPEG file out of it? And how to I get the audio back into the file?
