Can you guys imagine being one of the majority of Star Wars fans out there that have no clue about these Revisited edits? That would be so sad, especially after seeing all of this amazing new stuff! Those Empire menus are pretty sweet. Ady, you rock man!

I'm surprised that the news of this hasn't got out. This is the biggest breakthrough in fan-editing since "The Phantom Edit". That was widely covered, I don't see why Revisited hasn't been picked up by major news outlets.

IMPERIAL COMMANDER: "Lord Vader, we can't board the Rebel ship yet, The LSO haven't started up the Imperial March."

DARTH VADER: "Williams, just play that boring Imperial Motif, the Sith have no need for grand entrances."

JOHN WILLIAMS: "Tell that to the designer of that enormous white triangle you guys came in on."

FAN NERD: "It's not white it's very light grey."

FAN EDITOR: "Not when I'm through with it."

THAT is funny!

I'd like to see a better love story in AOTC. Here's a rough version I made that I think works pretty well...

http://rapidshare.com/files/183848266/LoveStory_01.avi.html

I wanted to make it so Padme falls for Anakin more easily and naturally. First, I cut the politics. Everyone else tends to leave this in their edit. Not sure why. I never got the impression that Vader cared much about politics. I never really liked these "flashes" of the darkside in AOTC anyway. I cut the dinner scene. Anakin saying "grumpy" is terrible. I tried to get to the meat of the confession scene where Anakin declares his love for Padme and cut all of the cringe inducing dialogue along the way.

quite good. Your edit of the kiss is very similar to the Phantom editor's

You know... I'm sure this is crazy; but we have some freakishly awesome editors on here.... Why couldn't we re-shoot the prequels... I know how to shoot; and have the equipment... Someone has to know how to do some CG work... I know how to do green screen keying... We have all the music we could ever need.

I'm SURE this would never happen; but if some of us worked together on different aspects, I actually do believe it could happen.

Crazy dreams, I know... But how much fun would that be???

we'd need costumes, props ect. It's lots of cash and it still wouldn't look as professional as GLs versions

DVDs can be DVD-Video or DVD-Audio.  In a DVD-Audio, the VIDEO_TS folder would be empty (though usually those discs contain a DVD-Video portion as well, so players not equipped to read the audio part can still play it).  In a DVD-Video, the AUDIO_TS folder is empty.

In all honesty, for 99% of players, you DON'T need the AUDIO_TS folder.  But, there are a select few DVD players that read the AUDIO_TS folder first, and if it's not there they choke.

There should be an option in Nero to make a DVD-Video somewhere, or Video DVD, or whatever.  Use that, drop the two folders in, and you're set.  Alternatively, you can make a data DVD, drop in the two folders, and you're also set.

Actually what I've done it by draging only the VOB files, wich were the only ones I could select (in create a DVD video) what for my PC worked during 20 mintutes (he fusionned what had to be, notably)

But... Aaaaaarrghhhh !!!!!!!!!! My Nero is a test version and I don't have the licence for the pluggin to decode the sound in 5.1 Dolby... !!!

... Then I haven't burned it now.

So, if I make a data DVD instead, do you think it will run like any DVD on any player (and allow me to have the 5.1 channel with it ?) ... And is there an advantage in one of those way to create the DVD(Sorry for all these questions, and thank you !)

Yeah if you just copy both VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS as a data disc it should play in any DVD player.

OK, my download is now complete. Everybody talks about an ISO to unpack. What I have are .VOB, .BUP, .IFO all in a 4,7 GB file called VIDEO TS. There's an audio TS wich is empty.

Can somebody tell me how to burn a standart DVD with it ? (I use NERO)

I think you can just copy VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS to a data dvd. your DVD is already built

You may want to play with/consider blurring the buildings more and more as they recede into the background due to atmospheric effects (like when you look at a city from far away and it has an almost transparent bluish look).  Maybe that was one of the problems with the city effects of the prequels was that everything in foreground to background looked sharp, when you would have focal issues and atmospheric effects that could have made the scenes more realistic.

Things like the monorails and air traffic could be nice visually, but at the same time the focus should be on the main action, not the stuff moving in the background.

I would nix the trains, but maybe put those slow pulsing red lights that buildings here have on the top (for airplanes at night) and have one or two cloud cars VERY far in the distance... maybe just reduced to a black dot with running lights.  Maybe something enough to bring the city to life (like maybe the addition of audio effects to indicate a busy city behind and underneath them) but not enough to pull away from what we are supposed to be paying attention to.

at least in ROTS the backgrounds definitely were blurred. Just watched it.

Hi, can anyone recommend me some good edits of the prequels? Especially Episode III? I've already seen Attack of The Phantom and loved it. the Adigitalman edit and the slumberland edit both looked very different and both interesting.

The MagnoliaFan edits are worth a spin if you haven't yet tried them and all three Slumberland edits (including his/her Episode III) have lots of interesting choices (especially when it comes to the battle droids).

Both get around the Jar-Jar problem in different ways MagnoliaFan by using subtitles to turn him into a wise-ass Solo type character and Slumberland by trimming his buffoonery so he is actually funny (well I laughed at least twice) while remaining the same character.

I'll take a look at the Magnoliafan edits but the reversed Spanish really bugs me....

Well this is a forum for fan edits, if that's all that bugs you why not replace it yourself?

Well I am working on my own edit of Ep III right now actually.

it would be impossible, but it would be interesting if he turned earlier and was pretending to be good. but thats silly.

to be honest the AD ep III cut was ruined IMHO by the Liam Neeson lines insertion. Ep III, was a bit too busy for my liking, less would definitly be more. the only adition of voices i would support would be if we were to edit anakin skulking in palps office as discussed on the other thread, it could even be like the padmes ruminations scene, just loads of voices putting pressures on him.

- would it be possible to have the jedi conversation about removing palp from office leading to windu doing it, so the jedi almost did a bad thing. ui hate how black/white things are. the jedi should make mistakes, even moral ones.

things id prefer to see in an ep III edit;

anakin with a red saber at the end fight! its on youtube and really looks awesome

removal of vader in the suit. they really butchered it in ep III. id much rather see it gone.

removal of padmes death, and maybe even alot of the twins birth, we could just see her deliver, then maybe cut to the discussion about them, so we never find out what happens to her, would remove her death.

- perhaps if she is insanely whimpering due to her stress we could assume she is relieved of the children because of a nervous breakdown?

grevious - maul hint perhaps? could be in replaced dialogue, but if not, clone wars series could provide alternative dialogue.

the whole obi wans additional training thing, really unnecessary. if it had some form of hint in ep II or earlier in II i wouldnt mind, but as i said, the film is busy enough, and when we are winding down to the end of a film we dont want to be confronted with more titbits.

check out darkhelmets dialogue tweeks, they work much better

darth plageis creating anakin

trim anakin-obi fight, and even find a more tasteful yoda/sidious fight, id even be tempted getting rid of it all together, or at least trimming the lightsaber action. id much rather see a dumbledore vs voldemort style fight.

trim mace vs sidious of the silly jumpy bits. have you seen the reborn version of it? they did an amazing job!

what if order 66 was reworked? i dont know how, but what if it happened before windu goes to the office, and ani turns? it could be a retaliation taken against him.

no death star!

hope my ramblings help!

I like the Voldemort/Dumbledore style Idea. I think a way to make Anakin's fall more believable is to distance Anakin's becoming Lord Vader from his later evil deeds. The way it happens he suddenly turns and then decides to kill some kids. There needs to be some distance there.

No to removing the Death star, Vader in the suit or Padme's death. It may work in Ady's edit but I personally wouldn't do it in mine.

One FX change that would be cool though would be to have the Republic adopt a universal gray/black/red color scheme for their ships and troops. The blue and yellow trooper markings would be recolored red or white. This, however, is beyond my capability.

Handbrake is pretty fantastic - the newer presets can be a little odd, though. I'd recommend either using the "iPod Legacy" setting or the "iTunes" setting with the bitrate at 1500 instead of the new standard "iPod" setting - the new "iPod" setting has a standard size of 320x*** as opposed to the "legacy" setting's standard size of 640x***.

Well I think that the new iPod setting is just meant for the iPods 320x240 screen while the new "Apple Universal" setting or whatever its called was created to get the best possible quality that will work on all apple devices.
