Revenge of the Sith DLP Digital THX
Time
Here ya go MeBejedi. Its not a show anymore if anyone doesn't have the firefly boxset (joss whedon)...this show is incredible. There will be 3 movies, since fox dropped the ball by letting the shows go. So it ended up working out better. Sept. 30. I get to see the whole cast at Dragon*Con!!! Not to get off topic. But I will beg you watch it if you haven't.

Serenity in full hi-def glory!

I need to say something about Star Wars, so let me say its Serenity/Firefly is Sci-Fi, but develops characters brilliantly unlike the Star Wars films.

Thanks for backing me up ADM, and yes the theatre is probably 4 x bigger than any I've ever been in. I am actually considering moving, I love movies so much and see probably two a week out at the theatre with my wife. Now every sci-fi movie or action movie I will want to see there. War of the Worlds, Batman, Fantastic 4 (that may not be good), Serenity (that will be incredible), etc. Of course, now I want to star wars more there. They said in some articles I've read that its the best in the country. Beautiful High-def. Amazing. Let me know if any one of you guys from the board want to make the trek. My wife and I will go back in a second!

Ideas: I've been gone for some time now...
Time
Well I am going to get a copy of 3ds max and mapping from work in photoshop can be done and run through the films. I have plans for Darth grievous in my edit as well. I've written 9 scripts for 9 movies. I am learning vegas, acid, and sound forge now (which can do 5.1 sound fields), then I can do combustion/3ds max for effect (much higher end than after effects - main competitor is maya). Well, I guess I'll reveal some...Darth Grievous must get more than cut in half, there will be flame involved...this flame burns him then, flame burns him when obi kills him in ROTS, Anakin gets burned in ROTS then is lit in the Funeral pyre. You'll see.

Revenge of the Sith DLP Digital THX
Time
Wow, I just saw Revenge of the Sith in Greenville, SC. I drove 2.5 hours from charlotte, for my birthday to see, ROTS for the third time, but I am posting this because it may as well have been my first. If any of you have a chance to see this movie on a Barco DLP digital projector in a THX certified surround sound theatre...well...DO IT. My god, it's like I was seeing the movie in black and white with a mono track before. My quibbles with the movie seemed to fade away and I was lost, with my mouth open, my eyes wide and that little kid feeling like the first time I saw star Wars. The screen was huge. The colors so bright, so vivid, and sooooooo much more detail I never noticed. The sound rocked your bones and moved all around you. I praised the technical achievement after the movie, I just never knew the work was that good (I knew it was good...but not awesome).

This theatre maybe where I see War of the worlds and stay for another viewing of ROTS, June 29th...and of course I'll see batman at IMAX. I'll beg anyone to travel to see it digital. TFN has a list of theatres nationally showing in digital. Drive, cross-country if you have to. Wow.

I DO POST SPECULATIONS ON MY PART, AND WHEN I DO THAT I LET EVERYBODY KNOW THAT IT IS PURELY SPECULATION. WHAT I POSTED BEFORE WAS NOT SPECULATION.

BTW, X-BOX WILL NOT BE RUNNING HD-DVD OR BLU-RAY ON THE X-BOX 360*. I'LL HAVE MORE INFORMATION ON THAT IN THE "PSYCHO INSIDER."

Psycho Dayv... I said in my post that X-box will lack a next-gen DVD and said PS3 will have blu-ray, blu-ray will store more, and toshiba has already entered talks to do combination drives or just make its standard for pc storage. Blu-ray is winning in the market and many movie companies are very reluctant to have a dual format, because they may choose the wrong one. The retail industry wants this decided before it starts.

I am glad you have the inside track and look forward to hearing more. I've read in many places what I posted and it seems very logical. Now we all now GL is not always logical, but he does know how to make money.

Don't take any offense.

Why Kill Padme?
Time
I hated that she named her children....Luke...and you shall be leia...uhhhh aahhhh...DEAD. WTF. She has nothing to live for? How 'bout the kids she just gave birth to and named. I think in an edit, she should die and they rush to get the babies postmortem and its assumed that they are named either by obi-wan and organa or by the couples later on. What mother would not stay with her children and she even says there's still good in him and still "she's lost the will to live??!!!" Baah.

The chosen one
Time
MeBeJedi, you we're looking for some proof in print that Anakin "knew " he was the chosen one. I found a page in the Revenge of the Sith Visual Dictionary by DK, on pg. 9 I think, it says that Anakin knew this and was trying to live up to the expectations of the prophecy (paraphrased - don't have it on me now).

6 DVD Box Set for this November
Time
Why would the box-set release in 2007 on the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars Theatrical Debut and to push the 3D releases in theatres? Besides its not just a matter of who "wins" the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD war. From what I've read HD-DVD/toshiba has conceded on some grounds and the war will likely be over before it hits the market & PS3 going blu-ray and X-box dumping HD-DVD and Blu-ray storing more...my guess is bank on Blu-ray. But it is a matter of market penetration. Will everyone have the next standard by next year? Do you think they'd leave it on the market to linger, with sub-par sales that accumulate while the public is migrating to the new standard? And as more times passes, technology improves and more could be acomplished for the High-def release. 2007 makes sense on all of those levels. As far as november, I would expect the boxset to be out then. ROTS will release, Clone Wars 2 will release for sure. Now maybe they will release separately slightly ahead of the boxset, but you've got be on drugs if you think they wouldn't push the boxset during the holiday season sales boom. I wouldn't be suprised to see a special boxset that has clone wars as well. While Lucas has proven more than a few times he'll do what he wants to do, he also know how to make money and "milk it" as said above. Logic, deems the rumors to make sense.

STAR WARS REVELATIONS - FAN FILM
Time
I saw this with some of the cast and crew at Carolina Con last week. They used maya and Vegas to do most of it. The effects rival that of many sci-fi channel programs, but the acting was not just ok, or not great, it was crappy. Its frustrating on so many levels. Its like Jar-Jar, a tehcnically impressive achievement, but disappointing as well. The effects will blow your mind though...seriously sick. As far as story, i thought the sins of the jedi one is cooler. And the guy that was directing those is dropping off and Shaun O'Rourke is taking of episode 3 of Sins of the Jedi and it looks awesome, not released yet, buts a huge jump in quality, acting and effects (the last director was somewhat slack). They have a stormtrooper battle scene that looks incredible (he showed us a preview).

Obi-Wonton: And that actually made me think of this too. Who says being the Chosen One has to be about who is more powerful than who- it wasn't Vader's 'power' that killed the Emperor. It was his being in the right (or wrong) place at the right time. Taking the Prophecy at whatever face value it has, Vader really was kind of a dupe. He played along with the Dark Side long enough to be basically trusted by Palps and when finally he had a change of heart when Luke is going to die he just takes a bullet for him and chucks an old man down a shaft. Important? Yes. Powerful? Eh... not so much so- he DID die afterall.

So perhaps any number of Jedi were more *powerful* than Anakin (Obi did kick his ass afterall ) but instead he was just fullfilling a prophecy to be the one who gained the confidence of evil and took advantage of an opportunity.

and prophecies can be tricky things.....

Now greencapt are you saying that its simply a matter of right place right time, sort of like jar-jar blowing away droids kicking that broken one around or the tank turret or letting loose the explosive balls. (god I hate jar-jar). Maybe Jar-Jar is the chosen one! Just kidding Greencapt. I guess I long for something darker and more poetic...like anakin meets donnie darko

That is so true GreenCapt. He does say Obi-wan is holding him back and someday he will be the greatest Jedi ever. I think they repeatedly said they fear him, because though they sense his power with force they sensed his fear, rebellion, and conflict. Of course they stated he was too old. At age 8? he is already to hard-wired (so would say what about Luke...luke faced conflict and turned to the darkside in post OT, coming back later). If he was aware of the prophecy that weight could boost his ego further and/or give him too much weight/expectations that would hinder his training. The jedi know that he must train more carefully. It sort of reminds me of Gandalf not wanting to hold the ring from Frodo, knowing that through him it can yield an unimaginable power...too much power. Although to defeat Siddious it would take a Jedi greater than even Yoda, ultimately. He manipulated the entire Senate, Anakin, Padme, Dooku as a jedi and sith, Sifo Dyas, Jango Fett, and the Jedi Council. Even Yoda didn't see him coming. It would be interesting if Siddious said that to increase him anger against the jedi, about being the chosen one, but wouldn't that creat conflict against the emperor when it is clear who he is. Ultimately we know (thanks to MebeJedi for some of the answers) that he fulfills the destiny by killing the Emperor/Sith and returning to the Light side. Siddious did not want that obviously. The Jedi did not know for certain he was the chosen one (only Qui-Gonn sensed this and passed that idea to Obi-wan). Siddious tried to turn him because he knew he was the chosen one and would ultimately be his demise. Its like Satan trying to tempt Jesus in the Bible. Satan's greatest fear was the Son of God ("son of Suns - Journal of Whills) pulling away his reign on humanity and ultimately relegating him to the hell (shadows) post-Revelations.

Why is it that the Sith...
Time
Why is it that that the Sith cannot come back in ghost form (spririt) and Jedi Can? I know that Jedi have mastered the more difficult path and reached some karmic enlightenment, yielding the next step of a spirit of greater power that is not bound by the limitations of an earthly body. I assume that since take the darker path, the quicker path to power that they never reach the enlightenment required, though physically, it seems, they have more power in their physical bodies. So this is why Darth Maul, Darth Siddious or Tyrannus can not come back in some form in the movies. Correct?

An alternative to VobEdit, PgcDemux demuxes a DVD/VOB,IFO (PGC) in its elementary streams, video(m2v), audio(ac3,wav,dts,mpa) and subtitles(sup).
pgcdemux program

The solution to DVD Copy 1:1, IFOEdit allows users to parse VOB files, remove and add video, audio and subtitle streams to VOBs, create new IFO files, create DVD images. Also basic DVD Authoring. IFO edit

Some other programs that might help, again I haven't played with them...I will be attempting this soon myself. And thanks Mebejedi, for letting me keep bother you

Kam, I'd appreciate if you didn't add posts like that to this thread, it adds nothing...its not funny or enlightening. its wastes space and time and cheapens the thread. We're all here because we love the original trilogy and we're not all PT loyalists like at TFN. But this is a discussion and that has no place here.

Maybe so greencapt, but, maybe the moderators could choose people that would represent the site well and we all could do a booth and rotate out. I'd be very willing, with my wife and I, to take some booth time, explain what the site's about and give some highlight threads etc. I spread the word to a number of seasoned fans at carolinas con that only knew about starwarz.com or TFN.
