Lucas may have caved, here is a link to Barnes & Noble early review of the O-OT DVD's:
Time
I personally like the 04 DVD return better than the don't buy it at all, because it might backfire by Lucas deciding that nobody wanted the OUT and everyone loves the changes. But as said in another thread, maybe these discs will be anamorphic, so things might be a bit better after all. Now if we could only get the Star Wars Mono Mix/ESB 70mm mix. But that won't happen.

By the time a high-def version of the saga is released, the format war will be long settled. DVD had been dominant for years before Lucas got around to releasing the '04 DVD's. I don't see him getting in any hurry to come out with hd versions any time soon.
But yes, I would love to see the old documentaries get an official release, but I doubt that will ever happen. But maybe we will get some more bonus material at least.

Preserving the...cringe...Star Wars Holiday Special (Released)

ditto. anyway, i was trying to say that i figured out that i have that KCMO version (which is all the more sweet because that's the channel i could pick up to watch Transformers on). so i'm pretty sure that i've read that the KCCI version is better. Is this the case?

Supposedly the KCCI version was taken from a broadcast beta tape. However, I've heard that is now in doubt and is probably a first or very second generation tape. Its supposed to be the highest quality tape available, but I'm not sure how it compares to the KCMO version specifically. However, it is avalable on myspleen, if you want to see it and compare.

Ingo: you didn't need to get rid of the Ryu/Sagat pic, just scale it down a bit.
Not wanting to get too off topic, and Ingo might know more than I do, but IIRC, Sagat was the champion of the street fighter tournament (SF1) he lost to Ryu, who gave him the scar. Sagat then became obsessed with beating Ryu, so he joined up with Bison and his group to get another chance to fight Ryu and beat him. So they are pretty bitter enemies, or at least from Sagat's point of view they are.

Info & Offer: ANH CBS Anniversary Airing w/ bumpers and commercials... for anyone?
Time
I used to have this airing on VHS. I remember the Mark Hamil into/ending. The bumpers between commercials had lots of people talking about when they saw Star Wars. I think I might still be at my parent's house somewere. Unfortunately, I don't have most of the "good stuff" (bumpers, etc) anymore, due to an attempt to take out commercials.

I'm pretty sure that the audio mix for the '84 CBS airing was the standard 35mm mix. The mono mix only made it on the air once, in the UK, I think.

I for one would like to see these preserved. There used to be a thread a while back about transfering the bumpers of a couple of showings of Star Wars from the Sci-Fi Channel I think that had Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher on them. I think that having the options of watching these bumpers in a copy of Star Wars would be a great extra.

Info Wanted: What is the best Edit of Superman?
Time
The RIC is the restored International Cut. It is bascially Superman:the Movie, with every deleted scene in it. There are several versions of this available, one that was taken from a laserdisc or DVD, I don't know which, with the additional scenes added in. Another is a rip from a VHS recorded from an airing in Australia. There was supposed to be another copy that was aired in the US once, but I've never seen it.
I agree with Zombie84. Some of the added scenes are too much, and cause the movie to drag in places. The DVD(SE) adds in scenes, but not too many to where is becomes overwhelming, IMHO.

Should Wedge have been tried for cowardice?
Time
Didn't Wedge get shot before he left? So his fighter was damaged, he couldn't keep up with Luke anymore, so either he leaves, gets left behind and quickly blown up by Vader and company, or Luke has to slow down so Wedge can keep up, probably getting both of them destroyed and Luke doesn't blow the Death Star up before rebel base is blown up. He really can't do anything but leave.

Who the Y-Wing was is a better question.

Info Wanted: What is the best Edit of Superman?
Time
I don't know of any fan edits of Superman either. Someone on here was planning to do an edit of Superman II to put Marlon Brando back in at Zod's trial on Krypton As for the different versions of the film, these are the ones I can think of, but there are probably more out there that I've missed.
1. Theatrical
2. 80's TV edit
3. Special Edition DVD
4. RIC

I personally perfer the DVD, but the RIC is pretty good, but the quality is better in the offical DVD.

Video and Article: Rep Won't Let Customer Cancel AOL Account
Time
As I said, today Cell phone companies have gotten to where you have to prove that you are moving somewere that they don't serve, not just tell them that you are. In addition, their coverage maps shows more coverage than actually exists, so people end up stuck with a phone they can't use, and the cell phone company refuses to cancel service.

Superman Movie

I am too, Bossk, but part of that is that I am a Superman fan and desperately want this movie to be good, even if I'm afraid that it won't be. If for nothing else, than it has been quite a bit of time between Superman IV and Superman Returns, and I'm afraid that if Superman Returns bombs, then it will be another 20 years or longer until we get another Superman movie.
