Sorry, I interpreted 'bit part' as in not a major character, like Luke, Han, Leia, etc... By this interpretation, I'd have to go with either Porkins or the mouse droids. Do they count?

I think Stinky might be right here. I haven't read the book either, but from watching the commercials, I still have no idea what the point of this movie is. It looks like to me its a CGI special effects spectacular with no plotline but plenty of CGI. Hasn't Hollywood figured out that cool special effects can't carry a no-plot movie?

Oswald acted alone. So far, all evidence seems to point that way, and no real evidence has surfaced to show otherwise.

The main problem is with stuff like this is that people like conspiracies and don't readly believe that one nutcase could do this on their own. An example from history is the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. At the time, there were all these theories that Booth was an agent of the Confederate goverment, personally hired by Jefferson Davis, to kill Lincoln. Lincoln's widow, Mary Todd Lincoln beleived that then VP Andrew Johnson was also involved in the assassination and was actually a Confederate spy as well. No historians today beleve any of these theores. I think one will have to wait and see what history actually decides on Kennedy.

I haven't noticed that the PC gaming hardware requirements have slowed in the need to upgrade. I remember that about 5-6 years ago, one could buy a pretty good off-the-shelf computer and play anything out there. Today, you need a special "gaming PC" in order to play some of the high-end games. As I said before, in consoles, the manufacturers are locked into certain hardware requirements, so you don't have that as an issue.

JediSage is correct. PC gaming is hard because you have to be constantly upgrading to the latest and greatest video card or some other peice of hardware the moment it comes out or you are 'out of date' and can't play the latest games. It seems to have gotten much more ridiclous in the last few years. The games I play on the PC are mostly older games, such as MS flight Simulator, Red Baron 3D, and similar stuff. But I think one of the major reasons consoles have held as strongly as they have, is because it is much cheaper to have a console than a gaming PC and keeping the gaming PC up to date.

The SW Novel - Alan Dean Foster
Time
I'm assuming that the novel is still attributed to George Lucas because it always has been. I don't know a lot about the publishing world, but author's names never change. Everyone knows that Mark Twain was a psuedonym, and that the real author was Samuel Clements. But you will never see Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn credited to "Samuel Clements" in any bookstore, but always "Mark Twain". It might be something like that going on. Since it was originally attributed to George Lucas, it is stuck that way.

Judging by his pose, and what I have learned about him from the tape despenser, I am sure he would be delighted!
Did these ceramic makers in 1983 have a threepio fetish or something! Those are two positions I never expected to see a proticol in in my entire life.

They must have. The threepio stuff is just wrong on so many levels.

This usually happens with new systems, the first few games are mostly quickly done ports to get something out to sell by release date. That, and with new systems, the programmers don't quite know how what the system can do and how to make it do things, so the games aren't all they could of been. Its the games that come out after initial release that start to really show off the system.

Preserving the...cringe...Star Wars Holiday Special (Released)

funny how lucas is trying to keep the holiday special buried, and yet there is a screen shot on starwars.com.
I would say that Lucasfilm does not seem to be trying as hard to bury the Holiday Special lately. In fact, they seem to be referencing it more and more. There are numerous stills from the HS on starwars.com and Hyperspace, and they have shown clips from the cartoon both on the "Bucket Head" documentary (which wound up on the Episode II DVD), and in their Star Wars animation retrospective video that starwars.com hosted a while back.

I just hope it's a sign that they are more open to it now, and maybe we'll see it released someday yet.

Thanks to the internet and stuff like that, its harder to keep things like this buried and forgotten about, like it once was. So maybe we'll see something come out someday. After all, the O-OT wasn't supposed to even exist anymore, and we got a release of it, flawed as it was.
