I think you are right about You Bet Your Life, but it doesn't seem to be very reguarly.

I know that Burns and Allen actually used to be on TV Land early Sunday mornings, but I don't think that they are still there, and they are also very rarely appears on PBS late at night. But alas, not regularly, and they usually play the same dozen episodes or so, but at least they are getting aired. And I don't think hardly anyone remembers Jack Benny anymore. Maybe someday we'll get a proper release of some of these shows.

Who likes to go fishing?
Time
I used to fish quite a bit. don't do it much anymore, but still do occasionally. Its fun, as long as you catch something within a reasonable amount of time. Usually in lakes and rivers, but I have been to the ocean as well.

As for catfish, when I fished for them, I used to use stinkbait. It usually works. Being bottom feeders, you have to weight the line to get the bait near the bottom.

Info Wanted: Question about 1980 uncut Empire
Time
Rancher,
Pick up a copy of Jambe Davdar's Building Empire. You can download it from one of the torrent sites, but can't remember which one off the top of my head. He put in all the stuff that is currently available. He did a great job on reconstructing the lost scenes. He mostly had to use pictures, though. Little footage from these have actually been let out by Lucasfilm.

Is it that Full House is the only syndicated show that appeals to every generation, or is it that other such shows are not being syndicated (that was deep). In my opinion Perfect Strangers may have been one such show, if it only was given its proper respect. I'm not saying it was Full House caliber or anything, I'm just brainstorming here.

Its about several things. Some shows don't get syndicated for various legal reasons. Anything that is owned by Disney will only appear on the Disney Channel, and therefore aren't ever shown. Some other shows have a myriad of legal reasons why they aren't shown/can't be shown much anymore.
And yes, some shows just don't have the staying power that others do. Why does I Love Lucy, Leave it To Beaver, Andy Griffith Show, etc, stay on the air all the time, out of all the other shows that that was on the air at the same time as these shows? Its what most people today still want to see.
I know several shows I'd personally love to see on TV more, or at least get complete season sets released on DVD, such as The Jack Benny Program, George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, and You Bet Your Life, with Groucho Marx. But sadly, apparently not enough people agree with me, because they aren't available.

Let it go. I, for one, am tired of the fighting that has gone on between OT.com and the other site. Forget about it and move on. Welcome back, DAYV, caps and all.

Info & Info Wanted: Star Trek Theatrical versions - question

Yes, there are a quite a few Trek fans here. I believe that our webmaster, Jay, is also a big Trek fan.
Its good to see that there have been some preservations of Trek stuff. Now if we could just get them distributed somewhere.

What else in Trek still needs preservation, besides the stuff already mentioned on this thread?

Interesting that they are going to use the DS as a controller. Its a good idea, too bad its taken so long to get it done. One story I've heard is that the failed Atari Jaguar was going to use the handheld Atari Lynx as a controller. They planned on using the screen on the Lynx as a motion tracker for an Aliens Vs. Predator sequel, and as a tricorder for a planned Star Trek game. Maybe a system with proper support, like the Wii is getting, will finally be able to do stuff like this. I think it would be pretty fun.

Info & Info Wanted: Star Trek Theatrical versions - question
Time
I think its kind of funny that we have countless preservations of the OOT taken from laserdisc and other sources, but not much has been done with Star Trek. The theatrical edition of ST:TMP was on laserdisc, and there was some talk about transferring it, but as far as I know, nobody has transferred it to DVD. There were several other Star Trek related things that also, as far as I know, never been put on DVD, such as the 25th anniversary Special, that was released on Laserdisc as well, I believe. There are probably some other things that I'm missing.

The Amazing Spider-Man: A Spence Edit (Released)
Time
I think something that both the Spider-Man movies suffered from was the attempts to make it a typical teen drama with superpowers. There are too many scenes in these movies that show Peter's inner struggle, overkill Peter's crush on Mary Jane, etc, and having the villians/actual point of the movie to be secondary to the action. For example, in Spider-Man 2, it always seemed like to me that Doc Ock was a minor character, and it was in many ways a two-hour teaser trailer to whatever movie they finally have Harry Osbourne take on Spider-Man as the Green Goblin. I understand that some of the drama is very nessicary for the movies, but I think they really went overkill with it.

I've been avoiding this thread, but I can't help but to comment on something...
How can one be a repressed homosexual and an 'out of the closet' gay man at the same time? That doesn't make sense. If someout is out, then they probably aren't repressing it.

Should Yoda Have Been Part of the "Conspiracy"?
Time
You do have a point, Gaffer Tape. Another issue with the prequels.

From another view, remember that the Sith waited thousands of years and through countless generations of Sith Lords before they made their move and took over the galaxy. Perhaps Yoda thought that the Jedi would have to do something similar, and that Luke/Leia aren't meant to take on the emperor or Vader?

Idea: a 'Judge Dredd : Helmeted edition' fan edit?

How come ? There is a scene I think where they make him remove it. We see him from behind, and the guardians reactions are "ugh ! he is ugly ! put this back on !" So he get it back. It's totally illogic, but that is the whole point of Dredd. It's so funny seeing this man in prison, with the helmet still on !

OK, I see. I haven't ever read the comics, so I didn't understand the signifigance of the helmet. Having the helmet in jail is kinda funny.
I'm sure that Stallone would of loved to had that guardians are calling him too ugly to not wear the helmet. lol
