The Dream of the Giant Fractal Woodlouse.

I had a dream that The Last Jedi suffered from severe censorship and Disney tried to appeal to everyone, including Flat Earthers, so they scribbled out anytime the curvature of a planet was on screen. Harrison Ford made an appearance, looking for his whip from Indiana Jones for some reason. The film was completely incoherent and I ended up hating it more than Attack of the Clones.

I hope this isn’t a premonition.

I had several dreams of this nature before TFA opened. One of them involved characters in the movie wandering around several locations such as a giant department store stocked floor to ceiling with Star Wars merchandise, or a street vendor on Jakku hocking Star Wars merchandise.

There was a theme.

Here’s what the Conference room scene looks like on the print (gamma correction based on correction by age):

Edit: updated gamma correction

That’s interesting. There’s a notable color shift from the first images to the last image, which has more blue and generally more balanced tones. Which color cast would you say is more prevalent in these scenes?

Watched the first season of an objectively bad anime called Attack on Titan, but gleaned some measure of enjoyment (as hard as that is to conceive) out of it. It could’ve done with less padding, though; the plot didn’t justify twenty-five episodes.

I very much enjoyed Attack on Titan, and wouldn’t call it “objectively bad”. It is very much aimed at the Shonen (young males) demographic, which means that it’s often over the top, but it’s a fascinating world. Most of it is very well-paced in my opinion except for the two ‘Eve of the Counterattack’ episodes. They could have been removed with little problem.

Episode VIII : The Last Jedi - Discussion * <strong><em>SPOILER THREAD</em></strong> *
Time

Together
Fisher completed her part in Episode VIII late last summer, when principal photography on the film wrapped. “She was having a blast,” said Kennedy. “The minute she finished, she grabbed me and said, ‘I’d better be at the forefront of IX!’ Because Harrison was front and center on VII, and Mark is front and center on VIII. She thought IX would be her movie. And it would have been.”

Broccoli spag with flat leaf parsley, garlic, crushed chilies, pine nuts and cheese.

^This but now we grow the chilies as well as the parsley, garlic and broccoli. Can’t yet grow the pine nuts, cheese or spag. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVo_wkxH9dU

We’ve recently been making ‘noodles’ out of zucchini with the Spiralizer. It’s a bit trickier to cook since just a little too long and it becomes mushy. However, I’ve found it’s quite good with regular spaghetti sauce.

Denoise, Regrain And CC of ESB Grindhouse (Released)
Time

Okay, just got this downloaded and it looks really good!

In particular, the first part of the first Echo base scene, much of Dagobah, Arrival at Cloud City, Han in Carbonite, and the Rebel Fleet all looked especially good. The final scene in particular looked phenomenal.

There is an issue which plagues the grindhouse edition, and that’s the greenish highlights. Note how the core of Luke’s saber is often green, as well as any metallic surfaces which are in bright light. The best way I found to combat this was to hue shift everything from the greens into the blues, then selectively return the unproblematic hues to their original state. If you were able to adjust only the highlights, that may be even better.

It’s a tough balancing act, since as Dreamaster said the hair and gray metal can easily turn green with the more green walls. I’m also taking into consideration the fact that many of the Tech references have too much of a green push and I’m trying to ease that back in certain places where I think it’s appropriate, taking the most balanced frame for reference purposes.

As for the Luke ghost, he’s in every version of the SE so there’s a good argument for leaving him in. On the other hand, it’s clearly a mistake, so perhaps I’ll just remove him anyway 😃

The Force Awakens - Ridley's Edit (WIP)
Time

This is a more substantial edit than mine to be sure, and most of these ideas sound good. Some thoughts, haphazardly listed:

A lot of people seem to dislike the banter between Poe and Kylo, but I like it. I could take the boyfriend line or leave it.

Is this edit intending to preserve the Han’s son reveal until the Oscillator scene? Because I wonder if you’d be able to cut enough out of the Han/Leia discussion at the base without it becoming unnatural. I do agree that some of that should be cut, especially the Snoke references. In fact, all Snoke references in the film could go and I wouldn’t be sad about it 😉

My edit seeks to remove the Poe closeups on his approach to the castle to preserve the revelation, and I wonder if the trailer footage can be combined with the film shots to repair the single X-wing shot.

Overall, this edit is pretty close to ideal.

Extreme Prequel Plot Holes And Inconsistencies
Time

I don’t think it was a consistency-breaking plot hole, simply because I can easily imagine that during the events of ROTJ Anakin would have a conversation about what he hoped for in the future, perhaps after he has failed to become a master and Padme tries to cheer him up:

Padme: "Master or not, I’m sure a member of the Jedi council could tell me."
Anakin: "Tell you what?"
Padme: "Whether it’s a boy or a girl."
Anakin (moving closer and closing his eyes) "It’s a boy."
Padme: (jokingly) "Are you sure? Because I have the strangest feeling that it’s a girl."
Anakin: (earnestly) "No, it’s a boy, and when he’s old enough, he’ll…"
Padme: (sarcastically) "Let me guess. He’ll be a powerful Jedi like his father, and inherit your sword like the great warriors of legend."
Anakin: (sheepishly) "Something like that."
Padme: "So are you saying a girl can’t be a Jedi?"
Anakin: “You know that’s not what I meant.” (senses movement in the other room) "Obi-wan! What are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be on Utapau?."
Obi-wan: “I forgot something. Didn’t want to interrupt.”

Unfortunately none of this happened, so the plot hole is created.

That isn’t a PT plot hole, it is an OT one. Unless you just chalk it up to him lying.

How is that an OT plot hole?

When do you believe Anakin Skywalker told Obi Wan “please give this to my son when he is old enough”? Was it before or after he was hidden from his father at birth, per Obi Wan in ROTJ?

ROTJ only suggested that it was a potential plot hole, since it’s entirely possible that Anakin discussed his plans for the future with Obi-wan, even if he didn’t know for sure that he would have a son. The prequels confirmed it as a plot hole by not having this conversation, so it’s partly the fault of ROTJ, partly the fault of ROTS.
