It would be fantastic if this project can be completed before Christmas. This is one I pull out every year and never tire of. I was dreaming one day we would get the uncut version in WS.

I think I'll get the DVD5 version of now and wait for 1.2 to get the 720p version.
I also downloaded ESB yesterday but learned you starting again :O. Whats the main reason for that?
Will v1.2 be a huge improvement? I am wondering whether to wait for that or get the current versions. I am not overly fussy on things like colour correction but I do want a good version of original theatrical trilogy, well anything which is better than the 2004 DVD releases.
Apologies if this has been covered. How do I burn these onto a dual layer DVD to be watched on a Blu Ray player?
EDIT: sorry, I see the format is AVCHD DVD9. Do i just burn everything straight to DVD as a data disc? Can I use imgburn since its free software?

That's ridiculous, you might as well just get the DVD if size is a concern. When have you ever seen a full HD movie with an .mkv container be 1gb? If anything, I'd want a larger file with all the audio options muxed in. I'd prefer to put the original .avi file into an mkv container and call it a day... no re-encoding.
I wasn't asking for a full HD version (that bit wasn't clear), but rather a re-encode to something like 480p but with all the audio options. Just wondering thats all since my screen wouldn't really benefit from 720p and space is a concern for me.

Read up a bit more about the LD and apparently it had a cracking set of extras too (as you would expect from Criterion). A complete preservation would be fantastic!

Card sleeve being a snapper case and the DVD is a flipper? Thats the same release in the Trilogy boxset which I have. It still has the shortened documentary.
Was the video for this taken from the LD as well or from the remastered DVD?

I believe even the version on your R1 DVD is missing the interview which bingowings had linked to. I think it should be on Jonno's BBC recording.

I thought the original BBC version was the 74 min version plus the Mercedes McCambridge interview. From what you guys say, this seems not the case.

I was wondering if any Exorcist fans here have a copy of original BBC Fear of God documentary including interviews with Mercedes McCambridge (voice of possessed Regan).
I’ve been screwed over since I have the R2 version of Exorcist which contains the 52min cut. The R1 release had the 74min cut but still misses the above interview, and also is out of print and I have been unable to track down a copy. Also I understand there was a mix up because the UK version was supposed to get the longer cut not the other way round!
