The thing is, I don't think as many of us would have nearly as much trouble accepting the prequel CG if it didn't look so crappy. I always use Sin City as a comparison; every single set, with the exception of Katy's Saloon, is CG, yet it blends seamlessly and it makes for onr helluva movie.

And as far as the Church's "iron hold" during the Dark Ages, if the Church hadn't had said metallic grip, then a lot more history would have been lost, because the majority of literate people at that time were clergymen.

And as far as the early Renaissance thing goes, all that boils down to is speculation. All it is is "what-ifs".

Why didn't they teach you
the german way of life ? Many things in your country went the most possible
wrong way and as far as i remember my history lessens all the mess began
with the south states loosing the civil war...


Yeah, 'cause, ya know, if the South had won, we probably wouldn't have racial equality in the States, not to mention all the other positive results of the Northern victory. Then again, racial equality has never been very popular where you're from, has it?

Shim, I know I've already debated with you on this point in another thread, and so I won't bring up that particular argument again. I just want to say that I do believe that organized religion has done more harm than good, overall. It also served as a guiding light through the Dark Ages, until the Renaissance came along. There are hundreds of millions of people that would definitely disagree with you, myself included. Religion doesn't started wars; a few screwed-up higher-echelon people with a skewed perception of said religion start wars.

I'd have to say I think that Melee improved on the original SSB in every conceivable way. Tons of new characters, two new single-player modes, tons of multiplayer modes, arcade minigames, vastly superior graphics, the list is endless. I think it's safe to say that Melee has earned its way to classic status.

That is my exact opinion on the prequels. The only good thing about them was the music, and even then, only when it was rehashed from the OT.

There's no "quarterback". No "kicker". You can't change the whole team for the defence.


My high school football team (that's American football this time ) is so small, that we can't change out our teams for offence and defence, except maybe a couple of players. I will say that it is very intense, because not only are you actually encouraged to make physical contact with other players, but you HAVE to; otherwise you'll get your ass kicked in. That's why I like it better than soccer. From what I understand, you're not exactly supposed to run the other team into the ground in soccer.

Plus, even though the plays are predetermined, it requires a lot of teamwork. If the offensive lineman doesn't block his man, the runningback is pretty much screwed. I would know, I play runningback on my school team.
