if you're going to speculate,

prove to me you wouldn't care if the OT got restored...

would you quit this board? never complain again ?

no, you would find something else wrong, complain about some other

issue, the soundtracks wouldn't be right, there wouldn't be enough deleted scenes,

it would cost too much etc..

face it, you've gotten into the fact you've hated Lucasfilm, Lucas etc. so much..

that at this point, there is NOTHING THAT would satisfy you..

if you're going to be an asshole,

prove to me you wouldn't rub feces all over your body if the sun didn't set each evening...

would you flush your feces down a toilet? never to see it again?

no, even in the brightness of a perpetually sunlit world, you would rub poop all over your

body, perhaps even go so far as eating it, trying to rub it on other people, talking to it like a person,

making furniture out of it, etc..

face it, you've gotten into the fact that you want fecal matter in your entire life, mind etc. so much..

that at this point, no AMOUNT OF VISIBILITY could shame you..

how sad...and ironic

Whooohooooo!!!! Go Libritarian party!!!!!!!!!!! Whoooohoooooo!!! Unfortunately all the people who actually care about America are destined never to have a chance...

Yeah, as much as I didn't want Obama to win, I just couldn't bring myself to vote for Juan McCain either. So, yeah, screw all ya'll.

It's not that I really buy into the whole "Libertarian" mindset (because it seems like libertarian is the new trend these days anyway), so much as I hated both McCain and Obama. I felt like if I voted for either of them I'd be throwing away my vote, so I figured I might as well throw away my vote the right way.

Star Wars Saga: Silent Film Edition (Released)
Time

If you want an example of what the frame-removing approach can do to a more modern film, check this out:

Radiohead - There There

I think that's one of those things that I'd just try out on a little chunk to see if I liked it before I implemented it into the whole film.

Another thing is that most silent films were not exclusively black and white. The one I'll use for an example is Nosferatu, as it's the only silent movie I've seen all the way through (if you've never seen it, it's fantastic, by the way). The filmmakers would use several different filters throughout the film to denote either mood or time of day. For instance, the interior of the castle was sort of a yellowish tint. For night shots, the picture would be a light blue (I know both sepia and green made it in there as well, just not sure where).  Not sure if that's something you'd want to implement as well.

And I also don't mean to make the editing process even harder than it already is. :P (I've done my fair share as well; not a lot, just enough to know how much of a bitch it is).

Star Wars Saga: Silent Film Edition (Released)

Okay, first of all, I really liked those clips! Excellent job! Thing with the video though is that even though it looks old, it's not quite "silent movie" old (and again, I don't want to sound like I'm nitpicking, I'm just offering up a suggestion or two; take them how you will).

1.Perhaps you could try fading the borders of the picture to make it look like it was shot with an old-time lens, like this:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/NosferatuShadow.jpg

2. You could also try mucking around with the frame-rate. Perhaps either a) speed the frame-rate up just a little bit, or b) (and only if there's an easy way to do this, because doing it manually would be a monumental pain in the ass) find a way to remove, say, one out of every four or five frames, to make the movement look choppier.

Again, if it's too late in the game for changes like this, then disregard this post. I also don't want to seem like a nitpicker, I just you guys's edit to be as awesome as possible (because, let's face it, this is a really cool idea!)

I've been using Vista since last summer. It still sucks.

maybe your computer sucks?

1) Maybe you're made of money, but I'm a poor college student. I don't have the cash to run down and pick me up a new copy of XP

2)I didn't bother. I didn't have a say in the matter. I received this laptop as a gift from someone who knows fuck-all about computers

3) Yes, my computer does suck. But Vista isn't making it any better.

I'm thinking of dressing up as Burgess Meredith's Penguin just as a "fuck you" to the rest of them. :P

I don't think people will "get it."

Unfortunately, you're probably right. I wouldn't be the "cool" Batman character.

It'd be kind of like when I dressed up as Groucho Marx in high school. The only people who knew who I was were my teachers. :\

To be honest i never read the book i was only saying Spielberg, and that would Include Peter Jackson are not the kind of guys authors want touching their material.

As a Tolkien fan i was horrified by the hamfisted changes Jackson inserted into a work that was not his own.

Not Only did NewLine butcher the master fantacists work but they did not even pay the tolkien estate their 2% of the net profits. Which they are pursuing Legal action over and Christopher Tolkien is going to try and get all rights for the books back from Saul Zaentz due to breech of contract. Meaning no Hobbit Movies.

Furthermore if tintin is a 100% cgi movie who do you think Spielbergs going to go for ideas, Lucas or bob z who did Beowulf. Awful, awful, awful. Any movie having its effects done by ILM lucas has a bad amount of relation to. Even if weta does the effects for tintin what have they done since LOTR that fucking awful shit king kong, and lost the rights both to Evangelion and Halo.

Okay so the first narnia film was decent but the second one was shit.

How many traditional effects houses are left in Hollywood or as Independant's ? It seems to me that all new movies are crap cgi fests.

I wish the cgi overladen film era would implode. i am sick of paying to see movies that Look like videogames and were written by a bunch of monkeys. Cgi and bad scripts ruined star wars and Indiana Jones.

Or maybe Spielberg will use Dreamworks to animate it, considering he's been using that company for over a fucking decade, dingleberry.

The reboot of doctor who was a huge success, and is probably a better idea for him to work on that. I can hardly blame Moffat. I would keep as Far away from Steven Spielberg or George Lucas as possible they ruined 2 franchises. Spielberg is not the go to guy for adapting books Look waht he did to jm Barries peter pan, he did far worse than disney could ever have done. And while Jaws was a good film it did not stay close to the original novel at all. Spielberg made up the ending as it is not in the book.

1. First of all, Steven Moffat wouldn't have had anything to do with George Lucas. Tintin is being helmed by Spielberg and Peter Jackson; Lucas is not involved.

2. Just because a movie is based on a book doesn't mean that no change the movie director makes can be as good or better as the book. Peter Benchley isn't exactly a high-profile author, and to be honest, the "Jaws" book sucked. Half of it was devoted to some shitty love triangle between Hooper and Brody's wife. I'm glad they cut all that.

LOL, you just like to go against the grain don't you? I think no matter which way the river flowed, you'd always swim against the current. That could be a compliment in some cases, you know, think outside the box, but in your case it isn't so much thinking outside the box as it is disagreeing with and flipping around everything everybody else says. Just an observation.

"I'm glad Lucas kpt Spielberg in check for Indy 4, I can't imagine what else he would have done to it..." That is completely nonsensical. Even taking into account the context of your previous posts and your feelings of Spielberg's incompetence still doesn't explain why or how ypu think he would have screwed up Indy IV had Lucas not been there holdong his leash. I am pretty sure you are only saying it because everybody else says that it was a good thing Spielberg was there to keep Lucas under control.

I also like how you act like Tin Tin being CG is the end of the world, but the Clone Wars being CG is an amazing and very mature show for adults. If Clone Wars can be so great in all its wooden CG glory, why can't CG Tin Tin even be given a chance?

All I know is that Steven Moffat is writing Tin Tin, so it's gonna rule.
