Every living president hates Trump, W. included. That doesn’t mean there is no trend.

There are historical events and reactions and counter-reactions to them that obviously bring us to a place that Americans would vote for Trump, first in the primary and then in the general election. I only object to the silly one-sided logic of Bush naturally led to Trump. The rejection of moderate respectable people like McCain and Romney also got us to this point.

LOL. That Season 2 trailer is laughably terrible. Now my anti-desire to watch Discovery is petrified.

That was terrible. Is that the usual tone of that series? Felt like it was trying to be The Orville (which I’m not crazy about anyways).

No. The entire first season they were trying to be edgy. It was overly dark and serious.

It really does feel like they’re trying to ape The Orville now.

They’re listening to the fans! (who said The Orville is like Star Trek)

This certainly meets with my own world view in many respects…yet I do somehow manage to at times even go so far as to enjoy this brief pause between birth and death…although often it is quite challenging to find a purpose in allowing one day to follow the next…for one day I shall depart and very few will have noticed the difference…

Were your responses to mfm in the other thread representative of your own views.

Jesus fucking christ you guys are some whiny shits. 3 pages of fighting just because somebody fucking asked what a word they didn’t understand meant? And they weren’t even advocating it’s use either, they were simply asking what it meant since it had already been said. Holy shit. I should have just let you people think I died in the woods and never came back. Fuck this place.

You got room in them woods for one more?

We’re going to need a bigger tent.

Has the ok hand sign:

become a symbol of the KKK?

It is and it isn’t.
https://lifehacker.com/is-this-an-innocent-ok-sign-or-a-white-power-symbol-1825575794

Some people think it is, and some people do use it to mean that; but many who use it aren’t alt-right and don’t mean it to mean that. I think it’s still up in the air whether it’s associated with that or not. Some people are starting to associate it, but it’s not really caught on. So yes and no.

There also may be more people like me out there that have no idea of any sinister meaning to the okay symbol and just think it means “okay”.

There is sort of a sinister meaning to it, in that you’re supposed to get punched for noticing it.

Mrebo, are you a Trump supporter?

All Republicans are Trump supporters whether they admit it or not. It’s his party now.

You’d cry too if it happened to you.

Yes I would.

With that said, the right has been building towards this moment for a long time now. Trump is just the logical (absurd, yet logical) conclusion. I don’t think I have to worry about it happening to me because we aren’t the party of Fox News and Breitbart, and everything that comes with it.

It is the next logical step, although I don’t think it’s a conclusion by any means.

It’s what the right (or America in general, I suppose) gets for allowing the ball to roll down the hill starting from Lee Atwater, through to Rush, and Hannity, and Fox News. I talked to my family recently and lamented how disappointing it is that so many Republicans demonize opposition and glorify themselves so as to maintain lockstep with whatever nonsense Republican leadership is up to. My Dad then mentioned that they’ve been doing that since Lee Atwater was a political consultant for Ronald Reagan; and that Atwater, in fact, apologized on his deathbed for causing this.

Yeah but Bush and Obama right Mrebo?

Hey, who are we to contest chyron’s dad.

Trumps loyalties have always been devoted to Trump and nothing or no one else. I don’t know the exact reasons but I don’t think there’s any question he’s acting this way to try to protect himself.

Oh, absolutely. Nonetheless, his actions in protecting himself are putting this nation in jeopardy, alienating our allies, and appeasing the Russians at every turn. It’s just gotten so obvious I’m shocked nothing is being done about it.

Of course nothing is being done about it. Republicans have fully given themselves over to Trump and they’re the ones in power.

There was a whole lot of uproar on his Helsinki statements from Republicans.

Not really. Didn’t vote for him but have been pleasantly surprised by many policy decisions/nominations. The tariff and immigration policies are not to my liking. Then there are the personal issues and inability to be focused and coherent. On the other side are people in hysterics. Neither side makes it easy for people who care about the policy issues.

The Presidency is not just solely about policy issues. It is a leadership position. He is the commander and chief of the military. He has the nuke codes. The President is the person the country turns to during times of national crisis. Think natural disaster. Think 911. Even if I did agree with Trumps policies(and I don’t), I doubt I could vote for him.

Mrebo, do you think you’ll vote for Trump in 2020?

Sometimes Trump is said to be a horrible aberration contrary to conservative principles and criticism of him is uniquely justified and different from criticism of past (and future) Republican presidents.

Then there’s stuff like this, that he is the apex of conservatism and the whole movement needs to commit seppuku for the good of the nation.

While Trump is in many ways an abberation, I’ve seen the same criticisms and hysteria before. It was pretty much the same gainst Bush and against Obama.
