Bring Back Ric!
Time

I just read a Bit in the ric Observation thread, and I would Bote to bring ric back.

Argument Against True and only ric mightbe the sock puppet rule, but: normaly a sock Account seems to be defined as an account only the person behind it is aware of its sock Status. With Ric it is now sometimes different: (Almost) everybody would know of its humorous Origin, and that it is just an ironic contra Troll account. It won't really fool anyone. So it may be discutable, if the sock Account rule really Apply.

Can someone here help us get the retail BD Dutch release of The Neverending Story?

Thanks

It is just the US Version, afaik. But it is announced to have better color and better sound than the US release, even if picture is not as sharp as US release.

A dutch online store seems to sell it for about € 12 not including shipping. To bad my vacation is still 2 weeks in the future, its only ~60 km to Venlo from home.

EDIT:

freerecordshop.nl wants a NL adress at registering. Seems not very european/international friendly. I can't find any other sonline stores selling NL stuff. Maybe I can locate it on a trip in my vacations somewhere in a store, if I find time for a trip.

We just don't get into "bare bones" releases, that's not our style, I personally don't care for them myself but that's me and this was requested in our thread so if you think you can do it then go for it, at this time I do not have or even know where to get the HDTV file or iTunes file, but MrBrown is a damn good friend of mine and maybe he won't mind the "bare bones" approach.

After seeing the images of the BD, I won't mind a bare bone, if it just would make the movie in the better quality avaible for me. (I can't buy at US iTunes.)

Sure, I really would love some kind of great work with best image and best possible sound, Bonus Features and menu, but I love the movie, so seeing the BD Version just hurt my Disney Movies loving heart, and I care more about the movie itself, than about (cool) additional stuff...

I just saw the images comparison and know, that something has to be done. :) I just don't wan't any fights on this. :) Because: No matter, if Team Blu or some other team or single member: you all are always doing a great job, and one thing for sure: you all love what you do...

...damn I always get emotional when drinking a beer and talk on movies. :)

I would say, that Team Blu has much cool project in the future, and that it won't hurt if this little pice of gem is movie wise put together by another one. Maybe, one day, after the queue is down Team Blu may have time to add a great menu and some great additional features could be added, and a proper cover art. At last we all have one thing in common: we have a hobby, and shall not argue about it, because we are little, compared to the DNR loving masses! :)

Info & Discussion: Fullscreen Laserdisc / DVD Preservations
Time

I really like open matte Full screen Versions.

i.e. I've seen From Dusk till Dawn and Desperado open matte on German VHS first, before seeing them widescreen.

I really would love to have the open matte Versions as DVDs, but afaik they were matted for LDs, and they were only Fullscreen on VHS.

My first DVD of Bad Taste was a bad full frame german release, which I gave away after getting a better quality Widescreen Version. Now I am trying to get that again. Same with Evil Dead. I am glad that at least the US company released Evil Dead as Full Frame Version.

I have a german languaged only DVD of an open Matted "Killing Zoe"

Too bad that open Matte Versions seem to die away, because I always loved the way some movies show some more informations, or some faulty of screen things like microphones...
