I like the PAL Video Format
NTSC is like "Never The Same Color"
but I don't like the speedup of PAL.
Poor thing that the boots are bad Quality, It would been a nice source, if they where better.
I'd like to see the 1997 SEs in good quality, but I don't prefer them. But they are a part of the history of the Star Wars Saga.
I own the German Specilal Edition Trilogy Box (In german of course :) ) and the japanese LD Special Edition Trilogy Box, but I was never able to watch the LDs, because I did'nt own a LD Player. :(
Regarding to a german website, theire may be a Malaysian Bootleg DVD Set with the Special Editions and DTS Sound. It is stated as an copy of the US Laser Disc with DD 5.1, DTS 5.1 and Dolby Surround, some asian Subs and english subs. And additionally theire may be a bootleg from same country with DD5.1 EX and DTS 5.1 Sound with video format in Widescreen.
Yeah, but Shipping costs for LDs from Germany to somewere else is very High ;)
I paid about 40 $ for my japanese Star Wars 1997 Special Edition trilogy. about 30$ from that amount were for shipping from Japan.
My point was, that I would never trust my rare LDs to such an eBay offering. Expecially if it is in a far away country. MAYBE if it would be somebody in my own hometown, where I could take one Movie at time, but even than I would prefer somebody I know.
If I would use such a service I would look for a service, where I could go to the Store/Shop/Person myself, carrying my Discs, and carry them home afterwards. But I won't use service of somebody far away, shipping my discs.
I dont' own a LD Player, but I would prefer to get my few LDs converted by someone I know, not someone I never met.
Why? ;) I am from Germany.. so the German Disc make more sense to me ;)
Never found a hint, that the much green and the unsharpness was wanted.
And, if it was wanted, why don't these effects apply to the DVD Extended Versions, like the other "damages" whicj are added into the movies?
So I don't think that the green, unsharp Picture quality was wanted.
I will see what the german Grindhouse will look like.. *sight* ..yes, I plan to buy it... even if I own the Us Extended Versions, the German limited Extended Versions (In Tin Boxes with some little Gadgets, like smelling Discs: Gasoline for Death Proof.. something other for Planet Terror, a BBQ receipt for Planet Terror, ...) and the 6 Disc japanese Box, already.
I heard a German Release of the Theatrical Version is announced for this year (09-29-2008).
Maybe it is better than the japanese Version.

the poor thing:
theire just german Audio tracks announced so far...
(but if the movie is optical better than the japanese.. mhm... maybe speeding the PAL version down to NTSC speed.. and get the english audio from the japanese disc...)
The Revisited Edition is AWESOME! Thanks for this!
After getting the DVD 9 PAL Version via PIF from Englang (THAAANKS!!!).. I have now three PIF places.
I only own the DVD 9 PAL Version, nothing other to PIFfing jet. Because of not having some possibility to print (I only own a Black and White Laser Printer) I would just PIFfing the Disc.. so.. first come first serve ;) Three PIF Chain places to go..
Edit:
Sorry, while reading the disc in my PC I allways get CRC errors. My PS3 is playing the movie (not testet it fully, jet) I will open my PIF places when solved this problem. Hope it just a problem with my DVD drives...)
