People dont doubt he spent millions of dollars just to throw down the drain, and that he wasted ten years of his life for nothing, but storywise why do people say there are plotholes continuty errors and inconsisties, do Star Wars fans/people say it for a laugh and a joke at Georges expense or because they see flaws in the story, you have even brought up the Leia remembering Padme issue yourself......

The U.K version is cut by the uk censors by 28 and 47 secs and this version may have filtered around Europe

DVD Versions Comparison

There is nothing on the IMDB about an Alternate European Cut (though how reliable this is, is questionable)

IMDB Alternate Versions

I have a feeling it may just be the censored U.K cut, titled as an Alternate European Version, though a bootlegged alternate cut may exist somewhere..

if lucas had left the ot alone

I sure for some, they may have accepted the Prequels more, had the Classic Trilogy been left alone but because of whats has happened they may have taken their frustrations with Lucas out on the Prequels, but had the Classic Trilogy been left alone then released, I am sure some fans would have walked away from Star Wars seeing where they thought the Prequels were heading or headed and not stayed around to bash them

some are just fans because of the cool Special Effects etc and some dont have a clue what Star Wars is a about, and just like some girls just like Sith because Hayden is a great looking guy and in turn a great actor(trust me ive seen it)..

Yes that annoys me slighty, it was fun at first now the novelty has worn off slightly and I just cant wait for the Emperor/Dagobah/Rebellion scenes to start, and some of the Endor scenes annoy me once the Speeder Bike chases finishes, I just wait for Vader, Luke scenes to start etc

I do still like the film alot but I dont think it is as good as ANH or the ESB quality wise. and prefer ROTS to it at the moment..

Thankfuly (IMO), for the future, we still have the two new TV series (possibly more) to look forward to. Not to mention a massive supply, and constant flow of EU to keep the adventure alive. You put into words my exact feelings on the quality of the films, that ROTS, ANH, and ESB are the true classics, while TPM, AOTC, and ROTJ will always be flawed.

How can Sith be a true classic after being around for less than year, I think it is a good/very good film, surely if it stands the test of time like Star Wars Empire and maybe Jedi, the way some talk(not neccesiry here)its flawless but Sith has flaws to me , that not to say I dont like it, but you cant compare it to Star Wars and Empire as classic because it hasnt been around long.....

OK, it's not a classic... yet. All films have their flaws. I'm saying that ROTS, along with ANH and ESB, has to be considered the best of the SW films.

I agree totally agree with you are saying, and all are flawed except A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back , and I wish the other two were as enjoyable and as good as Sith to me, and given time it may well reach Classic status.

Other than this site and the stuff that goes on here and obtaining some of it, and seeing if the O.O.T would ever be released, I have no real interest in the rest of Star Wars and the future of Star Wars,I am happy to if it was to be released I would keep touch with Star Wars from here but carry much more with my other film interests.

They are welcome to the future of Star Wars from what I see on other places some P.T fans already think S.W belongs to them already and are the future and present and the people who love the O.O.T or just the O.T their views are not welcome in S.W, considered old and the past of Star Wars and some not considered "True Fans" for questioning old George and not liking the Prequels and his S.Es, so they can have it. and then argue among themselves one day......

In the future and I think some will dissapear from Star Wars and go to next "in" thing, in the future because the novelty will wear off and probably not support everything he releases, I am sure it has happened with the O.T but I feel with the quality issues a younger persons view of the prequels might change when that person grows up,

I also dont think The Prequels will/would stand the test of time as a separate entity, although because it "linked" to the originals it wont dissapear probably ,even if one day it is considered as one big story to most one day I am sure there will still be haters and people questioning its quality etc compared to the Original Trilogy and on its own it will never reach the legendry status of the Classic Trilogy.

We shall see, I personally cant wait for George to turn his beady eye on the Prequels and change things so some of these people moaning at the O.T guys for complaining, making an opinion about changes etc on other places etc, to see how it feels when some scene or something they liked has changed because the bearded one has changed his mind about his "vision", and to be sure some will complain, but that they slightly luckier they have a more modern format to fall back on..

For some acknowleging the exsistence of films/versions that made him famous, millions in cash, and helped him collect numerous awards

they were not billed as "rough drafts" to the record numbers in 77 80 83 and to the people he collected awards from around that time

(youre a nice chap sometimes Adam but you do have a bit of a cheek calling R.M an asskisser and gloryfing everyhing he does when you do pratically the same)

We know they are Lucas movie I am not saying that, but people mention continuty errors, plot holes, things not covered that is why people say things like should be,its not just us here, its people everywhere, now in the end its upto Lucas, but they are only films and he is only a filmaker and can be critised(though to some people around not nessecirly here he cant and nor can the films) I will not accept that Lucas has done everything right in his Prequel descions both editorially directing wise and screenwriting wise etc, now i am trying to point out that instead of long FX sequences etc the time could have been used wiser IMO to cover issues and make Sith seem not so squeezed, now thats upto Lucas, but /we have a right to comment and form an opinion( the reason I mentioned those I have seen the Edits and by cutting alot of that out/down it improves the movie IMO, and maybe commenting with the time editted out/trimmed Lucas could have put something else in there instead and maybe cover stuff that would bring less critism) but Lucas decides in the end...

Thank god it was released on Laserdisc as people would be screwed as it can be transferred to DVD and as VHS doesnt last as long and isnt as good quality. but while agreeing with your post it is in the end rather selfish and not being grateful of some of the people who made him a household name and helped make him big money by not putting it on the accepted format of today......

But George was happy to make millions and collect awards for these "rough drafts" he wasnt really complaining then, what about some of the people queuing up in 77 when he wasnt famous who dont want as he intends it for future generations why cant they have a choice, some/all dont have a problem with his changing it for future generation but it should not be at the expense of some of a generation who made him a household name and a rich man. all most are asking for is the choice, christ even he released on a limited run for a few months it would be preserved and people happy for him to change it for future generations
