I agree with Kev Thats a load of old crap the so called "Star Wars purists" are the only ones that hate the Prequels, I know and read loads of other type of film fan that hate them and mock them. and i am sure a percentage of Special Edition Star Wars people dont like as well as read elswhere

Surely that would show, a sign of a bad filmaker (not saying he is), if he had to cut lines out of a film made 22/24 years ago to fit with a film made less than 2 years before if done in 2007 just to ensure contuinuty.

It was probably along the lines of something I imagined, but maybe never imagined he be would responsible for insitigating the Clone Wars and was pleasently surprised, the bit of a dissapointment i had was the way his looks changed to his Return of the Jedi look, i thought i would be him ageing naturally or more likely through the Darkside rather than an lighting thrown back in his face.

I have a problem with all the little stuff that was messed up: Anakin's and Obi-Wan's "friendship", the way Beru and Owen played into the story, the failure to show the beginnings of the Rebellion, Anakin's and Padme's romance.
Then there was the stuff that just came out of left field: Anakin creating C-3PO, the midiclorians, the conception by the force, the allusion that Palpatine created Anakin.
Then there are the major points: Anakin's turn to the dark side, Padme's whole role as Anakin was falling to the dark side, Padme's death, Boba Fett's origins, Palpatine's seizure of power, the Jedi being portrayed in a way that we don't really care when they are killed.
The basic story to the Prequels was okay at best....nothing really mind blowing to me, but when you throw all this other stuff into the mix, you hurt things a lot. If Lucas had dropped much of this stuff and gotten the rest right, the Prequels would actually be quite good.

I hate when Prequel fans say you dont like the Prequels/Prequel story because Lucas didnt write it they you wanted it or expected it when i find BS it just wasnt executed good enough thats the problem IMO for me and others probably...

Agreed, this what i meant partly by execution C3p0 should have been introduced if he was that necessary without a possible plot hole/continuty issue arising rather than Anakin building him etc and showing us stuff we heard about in the O.T and P.T and more important stuff like Anakin and Kenobi friendship instead of wasting time on Jar Jar and a Droid Factory etc

I dont think much of the cartoons, i found the animation to be quite good, i just found some of the Jedi powers stupid compared to the films, and found the cartoons on the whole a bit boring( and i like animated features) especially Vol 1, as it seemed to just action without much story.
To be fair to Kev i am sure there are many many others and is not only one who hates everything except the O.O.T if thats true.....

In the mid 80's (when I was 6-7 years) I got an AT-AT for my birthday. That was so COOL!
I had quite a few "star wars" birthdays,
The one i remember the most was one when i got the Star Destroyer playset, I was playing hide and seek about a week before my birthday with some friends, and i hid in cupboard and there it was the Star Destroyer playset, eventually my mum found out because of my guilty actions and looks, and she was angry said she was taking it back, so all week i am begging her dont do it, but she said she had,
So i was dissapointed for a week as i believed her, but come my Birthday i was happy again as not only did i get that, I also go the Imperial Attack Base and Turret and Probot playsets, and by the evening it was even better when my friends came round, I was about 10 Star Wars figures up plus a Death Star and Cantina playsets up, from my friends would thought I would like them more than them....

Whats the betting it will have new merchandisable chracters, that will be merchandised to death, to me it looks another excuse to make more cash out of Star Wars. and it will more than likely complicate the Story more than it is now and would Mcgregor (who would be needed if Obi Wan is to appear or will they get someone else) or say a Mcdiarmid actually appear.
My final word...
Mr Lucas please move on from Star Wars and do something else

To me Star Wars is/was always too big for T.V (even the Ewoks and other stuff), it should have/been stayed as just films not lower it self to a T.V sci-fi show IMO
and to me it shows how far the franchise has fallen when you need a Star Wars T.V show to show things which should of/maybe have been in the actual films
