Thats the MagnoliaFan edit, that and the ADigitalman edit are the best edits of The Phantom Menace IMO

rotj sucks now because of the PT?
Time

I would have liked now if back then Jedi not being made into the last Star Wars Episode, so they couldve carried on, so they didnt necessarily have to have Leia as Lukes sister and all the other stuff which made it seem so squeezed, and if they end it kept to the Had Abbadon idea it may have been better than a second Death Star, but as it is The Prequels ruin the Dagobah scene with Luke and Kenobi and the Leia and Luke scene on Endor in my opinion. so I try and forget them when watching them scenes

I don't care one bit about the fate of prequel characters
Time

Yeah, I did feel more for O.T characters such as Yoda and Kenobi, and seeing the fates of the characters in the montage, I just didnt find Anakin likable and didnt feel for him, and felt he got what he deserved, which is not the intention im sure. and the way Padme died didnt make feel sad i was just like oh well!! shes dead, now if Anakin had killed her it would have much better and may have felt more emotion

Any GOOD memories of the PT?
Time
I do have good memories of the Prequels, less so with TPM as I never saw it at the cinema, but with Clones i went with a couple of friends to see it, we had a few drinks before and a laugh, and then watched the film and kinda liked it, though we didnt think it was a special as the originals, and then went to the pub afterwards for a good few, as for Revenge of the Sith i took a day off work to see it with some friends on the very first day at an early showing, we really liked it, and again afterwards we made a day of it afterwards and then I went again some more times with different people and again tried to make a day of it as and treat it as occasion as it was probably the last time a new Star Wars film would hit the cinema.

'Merge' Article- Lucas in his own words
Time

I dont believe a word Lucas says about it being Darth Vaders story all those years ago if you watch the OT without bias it clearly isnt, and that had everything planned from the 70s and didnt make it up as he went along, horsecrap, he has such ego he cant even admit he has changed his mind over the years and had no grand plan but instead lies his ass off, and his gullible followers believe every word.

I would be shocked if Lucasfilm didnt market it to death, with Burger King tie ins......with video games, toys and god knows what else, i would also be shocked if at least one merchandisable character isnt invented.

Ive been to the Netherlands(Amsterdam) twice and was surprised the first time how liberal they were about sex and nudity on DVD etc and in general, they would never allow any nudity on kids tv here, and battlewars you cant beat good old violence in US films though Hong Kong films have at times surpassed them in violent content.

Now, I don't know what anyone else thinks, but being in Canada, I get to watch a lot of American and European television and movies. I don't think that either has more censorship, but simply that it's in different areas. That doesn't make sense, but it will. It seems to me that American censors (based on what comes out) don't care as much about violence as they do about sexuality. Network television is all crime shows and murder and this, and they don't have a problem, but you don't see nudity (almost ever!). European censors, on the other hand, don't seem to blink at the sexuality, but come down hard on the violence.

Now, I'm not saying that the Americans don't care about violence or the Europeans about sex. It just seems that they're more desensitized to it. A little bit of violence gets a higher rating in Europe than in America, but a more sexually explicit film will get a higher rating in America than in Europe.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the impression I get.

Eyes wide shut is a small example in the US DVD nudity and sexual movements in certian scenes have been digitally censored, but the rest of the world "region" DVDs are the uncensored prints...

Basically yes it is ok to show crowds of people being blown away, it will be now usually just be given an uncut higher UK rating depending on what the level of violence, the rating is then based on the level, but it isnt ok to have a headbutt at a certain low UK rating it will be cut unless the distributor(Lucasfilm? Fox) take the higher rating offered by the BBFC another example is Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom that is cut over here in the UK because the distributor refused the higher rating and wanted a more audience friendly lower rating ,some distributors do that over here sometimes(very very rarely now thankfully) they are offered a uncut higher rating but go with the lower cut rating, this is why i import a lot of my discs to be certain,

Sith is uncut, it had the "12" higher rating, they have certain rules on things like headbutts etc in films for younger people like Star Wars, they used to be very strict even with adult rated films until a few years ago, when they changed the person in charge of the BBFC. so they are less strict now and most things now get through uncut, but certain things like animal creulty are still a big no-no and are still cut from films etc

***//BUILDING EMPIRE\\: PAL & NTSC DVD - NEW EDITION NOW ONLINE! ***
Time

Edit..

Thanks for this great disc. this is a really informative disc and every fan of ESB should get this!!!,

The things I liked

The commentaries. very interesting and most I have never heard before, perfect amount of commentary unlike some audio commentries which just drone on and on

The Deleted scenes, the comic sections and the photos give an insight what was taken out of the final cut

Alternate Angles and Behind the scense stuff, brilliantly put into the film

The subtitles made interesting reading

etc etc

This really is a great companion to Deleted Magic and Jambe Davdar deserves a big thank you for making up this excellent DVD, and hope a Return of the Jedi one is made, and everyone should take a look at this...
