As it’s one of the opening scenes of I’m hoping that the same emotion carries through but I have been looking for other dialogue for loop to say “it’s my time” or something like that. If you have any ideas please let me know.

Did I see someone do a version of Kylo looking over Coruscant somewhere? Can’t remember who did it but it was awesome!

Hmm, completely cutting Mustafar seems… like a radical change. I’d almost rather just have a single establishing shot, like poppasketti’s Tie Fighters than not having Mustafar at all. That was one of Kylo’s most badass scenes and it’s where we are introduced to the Wayfinder.

I must’ve reworked that scene aboyt 50 times and I can’t seem to fit the castle in anywhere that transitions well. I’ve worked everything else in though. Troopers were the cherry.

Nice edit, I’m still not 100% on having TIES being about to track people in lightspeed. Just doesn’t sit right with me

I’ve actually added it in just as Lukes ghost flashes first. Gives me goosebumps. I see it more as “You got this kid!” rather than “You’re on your own”.

It’s been an absolutely blessing after reddit. So good to be in a place full of encouraging talent.

I’ve removed that entire scene when Poe & Finn return. That whole bickering back and forth did my head in. I cut straight to the message.

I’ve added a bunch of changes on my “The Last Hope” thread if you wanna check them out.

I’m having internet issues at the moment. Upload speeds are only 0.7mb and I can’t even stream full movies but a friend has been doing zoom events for me which have been working really well.

I’m a little burnt out atm but I’ll let you all know when I’ve reduced all my new scenes to one movie.

This time last month I was ready to give up after a bunch of crap from reddit and not being happy with my final rough cut but since joining this site it’s been nothing but encouraging and now I’m having more ideas than ever!

I just did a rough cut premiere for friends and fans that helped from the start. Once I merge these ideas into one edit I’ll do another one and let you know if you’d like?

If you end up being able to remove even the TIEs, I would consider whether the later conversation about lightspeed skipping will make sense.

I feel that if you see the Ties before the cut it’s an edit mid scene so it has to be either before you see them after the wall break or keeping the lightspeed scene.

I’ve now got 3 different versions of the movie that I’m working on as I have so many ideas but every time I watch a final cut I just come up with more. I’m losing it a bit Haha!

I can’t encode a clip right now because ROTJ is exporting but I wipe away from the lightspeed scene after they blast through the ice wall and are followed by TIES. Skenera extended the shot to allow for a smooth transition.

I was trying to cut just before the Ties as I’ve cut them out the end of that scene. I’d like to see your edit wgen you can.

How far in from finishing a rough cut are you?

I’d really like to watch your version of the Mustafar sequence.

The soundtrack from the falcon scene going into a natural history forest extra scene with added forest sounds just doesn’t go at all. Leaving the lightspeed segment gives me the climactic crescendo that fades really well into the peaceful jungle scene.

I’m trying to set up a vimeo account but do you have to pay even for basic account? I thought it was like youtube years back.

Yeah the game’s graphics are just next level stuff. I believe there’s a cinematic option that let’s you play around with the camera, creating different scenarios.
A useful tool.

I really wanted to cut that scene but it wouldn’t work with the edits I’m doing. It’s frustrating to leave it but the transition just doesn’t work at all.

Yeah I’d say go for it. With a workprint it helps to convey the changes holistically, making it easier to give back feedback.

I still haven’t had time to set up Vimeo or a Google drive yet but I’ll switch out the soundtrack I’m using and replace it with some royalty free stuff and add it to Youtube next week.

I’ve got various Nasa planet clips I wanna use and I may even change the forest clip I’ve already finished as I think it needs a more sunset warm coloration.

Leia & Luke scene is so emotional! I thought Leia was a little defeatist at the end of TLJ so I’ve taken parts from that talk and recreated something new. It’s really beautiful, IMO. Just need someone to help with the day to night fx as I’m colourblind and it’s tricky to get right.

I’m thinking of releasing a rough cut and asking for help in my next video. What do you think? Glad you like the list so far though.

Thanks! I’ve just seen your post about Mustafa. Couldn’t find where the original post was those. Really like the look of those troopers running out etc.

Managed to watch around half way. Some interesting choices of edit. I feel like you’ve gone a little heavy in place I.e. Zorii just popping up. Also seems to be a lot of cringe moments left in for an anti cringe cut. Most from Finn and 3PO saying “my friends”

You’ve made me think about Lando and the dagger a little more though, so thanks.
