I did a similar cut removing all of Leia’s parts. The scene seems to flow so much smoother when it’s father and son. It has so way more gravitas removing that part, IMO.

That is amazing! I’m only on a phone scene but it looks great. Maybe a little too grey scale compared to the amount of blues on the X-wing but very impressive.

Is it tricky? I’m looking for someone to help add an X-wing to a background in the exactly way?

Haha haha! That’s kind of how I’m feeling. This is the toughest edit of all the franchise.

If I could rewrite the script I’d have Rey stay dead and Ben come back as the new Luke. I’ve give Han full redemption for Kylo killing him.

Does anyone happen to have a HD version of Netflix ‘our planet’ documentary series? Episode 3 has some amazing jungle clips that fit extremely well with the lighting in Rey’s meditation scene.

I actually like the thought behind Canto bight. The fact that super-rich sell weapons to both sides was very controversial for Star Wars in my opinion.

That’s a good point about Rey’s point of view. Thinking about it, it’s not impossible to combine that idea with the Mustafar vision idea. How about:

Kylo kills the cultists and comes to a stop. Before him is the stone container inserted via VFX (cut the shot of him turning). He opens the box and places his hand on the square item inside. Use shot of him turning and then his environment dissolves into the interior of the cultist’s base on Exegol. After the Exegol scene it returns to the shot of Kylo standing over the box, this time with it open and the Wayfinder still upside-down inside.

This allows for the audience to put the pieces together as Rey does.

That’s incredible creative. I’d love to see that just because it sounds awesome.

Only to have a more positive ending. I’m Killing him straight off at the start of TROS but I’ve been reworking the start middle and end thanks to people’s amazing creations on here.

I also can’t thank you enough for making the amazing force ghost scene. I actually rewatched all the prequels and had footage ready to start working on Qui-Gon etc but you did way beyond anything I could do. I applaud you, Sir!

As it’s one of the opening scenes of I’m hoping that the same emotion carries through but I have been looking for other dialogue for loop to say “it’s my time” or something like that. If you have any ideas please let me know.

Did I see someone do a version of Kylo looking over Coruscant somewhere? Can’t remember who did it but it was awesome!

Hmm, completely cutting Mustafar seems… like a radical change. I’d almost rather just have a single establishing shot, like poppasketti’s Tie Fighters than not having Mustafar at all. That was one of Kylo’s most badass scenes and it’s where we are introduced to the Wayfinder.

I must’ve reworked that scene aboyt 50 times and I can’t seem to fit the castle in anywhere that transitions well. I’ve worked everything else in though. Troopers were the cherry.

Nice edit, I’m still not 100% on having TIES being about to track people in lightspeed. Just doesn’t sit right with me

I’ve actually added it in just as Lukes ghost flashes first. Gives me goosebumps. I see it more as “You got this kid!” rather than “You’re on your own”.

It’s been an absolutely blessing after reddit. So good to be in a place full of encouraging talent.

I’ve removed that entire scene when Poe & Finn return. That whole bickering back and forth did my head in. I cut straight to the message.

I’ve added a bunch of changes on my “The Last Hope” thread if you wanna check them out.

I’m having internet issues at the moment. Upload speeds are only 0.7mb and I can’t even stream full movies but a friend has been doing zoom events for me which have been working really well.

I’m a little burnt out atm but I’ll let you all know when I’ve reduced all my new scenes to one movie.

I just did a rough cut premiere for friends and fans that helped from the start. Once I merge these ideas into one edit I’ll do another one and let you know if you’d like?

If you end up being able to remove even the TIEs, I would consider whether the later conversation about lightspeed skipping will make sense.

I feel that if you see the Ties before the cut it’s an edit mid scene so it has to be either before you see them after the wall break or keeping the lightspeed scene.

I’ve now got 3 different versions of the movie that I’m working on as I have so many ideas but every time I watch a final cut I just come up with more. I’m losing it a bit Haha!

I can’t encode a clip right now because ROTJ is exporting but I wipe away from the lightspeed scene after they blast through the ice wall and are followed by TIES. Skenera extended the shot to allow for a smooth transition.

I was trying to cut just before the Ties as I’ve cut them out the end of that scene. I’d like to see your edit wgen you can.
