//RETURNING TO JEDI\\: NTSC & PAL DVD
Time
I've had a while to digest RTJ. What else can be said? Bloody brilliant is all I can say, and I'm an American who wouldn't normally say such a thing! I have to say that Jedi has always been #3 on my OT list (I agree with your Harrison Ford quote about the teddy bear ending). However, I can honestly say that I have a little bit more affection for this film now. Your knowledge and the depth of material you were able to acquire still blows my mind. How the hell do you know all of this?! I, like most people watching this, learned an incredible amount. I'm really looking forward to your SW project. Like others here, I am proud to be a member of a group that includes such talented people as yourself. Your work amazes and inspires. End of story. Thank you!

It's not really a review, but here are some of my favorite parts...

Lightsaber!!!!!

Sandstorm

Yuma (unbelievable!)

Pruneface (had no clue)

The Puggo Edition - webpage and screenshots (Super 8 transfers - Released)
Time
I haven't read about any problems regarding the usenet posting. I know Mallwalker posted some files that he found were different, but I made my post files from the disc I received from Puggo (straight from the disc, not from the HD). Is anyone having problems with an already burned disc that they made from my posted files? The disc I got from Puggo plays just fine.

Not so much mistakenly, more as unwillingly (at the turn of events). The error was unforseen in my eagerness to share this with you all, and i cant appoligise enough for the fluke up

I wasn't meaning "mistakenly" with a bad connotation. Things happen. No big deal.

I will be posting 012, 013, 014, and all future releases to usenet as soon as I can. I haven't received 012 and 014 from babyhum yet. 015 is a relatively small post so I thought I'd get it out quick. 013 is dual layer and will be posted next...

I don't mean to put you guys down, My comments are directed toward the software here.

I totally agree. The only part I might ever use would be the opening fanfare. I just think it's geeky cool that there's someone out there putting energy into writing a freeware app like this. I'll stick with Rebel_1138's crawl work myself!

Colink, I just overwrote the old files with the fix files and burned with Toast.

To Mac users out there, I totally recommend LiquidCD. It is fully featured FREEWARE. Toast is great, and I use it for a lot of stuff. But, an annoyance I have with Toast is that when you burn a UDF data dvd (DVD-ROM, not DVD Video) it automatically puts invisible "Desktop DB" and "Desktop DF" files at the root level. Unless you have your Mac set to view invisible files, you'd never know until you copy a disc for a Windows friend and he asks what the hell those files are. Anyway, LiquidCD burns in DVD-ROM data format without adding those files. Oh yeah, it's free...

BTW... I burned my usenet version using LiquidCD and it plays fine on my Mac and my piece-of-crap Apex stand-alone player...

I think the artwork should be on Disc 1 in a "DVD_ROM" folder that we add. Either that or add the artwork files to the existing DVD-ROM folder that is already on Disc 4. I think Disc 2 would be an odd place for someone to try and find it...

Secondly, having got the DL PAL version off Demonoid and applied the patches, then run the whole thing through pgcEdit (layer break at Ch18) and finally ImgBurn I've got a DL disc that plays ok in my PC but is an 'invalid disc' when I pop it in one standalone dvd player and plays the menu screen just once when placed in another...

Can anyone tell me how they went from their patched DL PAL vob/ifo set to finished dvd ? (I assume people are burning the whole thing, DVD-ROM folder and all).

Is the set now on a.b.sw any different to this patched set (other than extra artwork) ?

I applied JD's IFO patch set and then went in and did further IFO editing to change some of the content's viewing behavior from pan&scan to letterbox on a 4:3 display.

From a viewer's perspective (other than no P&S) there is no difference. It is not a new version of the edit. It just works the way the torrented version should have originally. In the usenet post nfo I said that it should be considered v1.0.1

Sounds like JD's been working on his own personal v1.1...
