The account had been banned before I saw it. I did check the IP but I couldn't resolve it to anywhere specific; I think an anonymous proxy was used.
Keep watching Harmy's avatar. I had to open the image in a new tab before I spotted it.
And no, I don't see that.

Hi Karyudo!
Great to hear about this.
As far as I know in 1993 only pre-THX discs were released in PAL countries. Are you sure those contain high quality video?
I think Karyudo probably meant 1995.
The PAL laserdiscs of Star Wars have several improvements over the NTSC Def Col (and the GOUT DVD) - a less aggressive application of DVNR being the major advantage.
Conversely, the video on the PAL LD of TESB (well, the French one anyway) suffers from DVNR artefacting that is worse than the GOUT DVD, although it doesn't have the split lightsabre problems. The Faces LD is probably the best source for Empire.
Never compared ROTJ.
There might be more appropriate threads in which to continue this discussion.
ImgBurn is still my preferred disc burning application.
Position of the layer breaks was mentioned back in Post 1777. It is safer (for player compatibility) to leave the seamless flag off.
Sir Alec Guinness had a lot of admiration for him.
Talking of which, found this.
Re-downloading sounds a bit drastic. To rule out any corruption, just use the following checksums with a SFV checker:

i burned the new hope despecialized fine. any ideas? should i try redownloading esb off jdownloader?
Use better quality discs. Verbatim DVD+R DL are the best.
Out of interest, what is it about the GOUT-sourced versions that you find objectionable?
Although Harmy's versions are probably my preferred option too at the moment, they are not without their own problems.
Previous thread here - good to hear progress has been made.
Still can't help with locating any lost episodes, but if you need any advice on capturing VHS let me know.

Also, my avatar was changed to a picture of a rat, and my IP addresses have been blocked...
Are you sure it wasn't a picture of a lemming?
Of course it was.
This guy is a troll, he doesn't have an X0, he definitely hasn't captured the JSC laserdisc and he hasn't got a clue what he's talking about.
On this occasion, Jay got to the ban hammer first.
In other news, hi Karyudo, good to see you back again. If you want to continue the colourlike discussion, you can use this thread.
If you've never watched Spaced, you need to. Now.
I always wondered whether Pegg shared the same opinion on Star Wars as his character in the show. I think with him posting this gif on Twitter (and his other recent comments) the answer is a confirmed "yes".
31 Aug: I'm hearing some rumblings about supposed audio additions to the original trilogy on the Star Wars Blu-Rays. Is this a hoax? Suspect it is.
31 Aug: Wasn't going to buy them anyway. Not even going to watch borrowed copies now. The only thing I'd buy is the original, original three on blu.
31 Aug: Always loved Vader's wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin's ghost. What a fucking shame.
31 Aug: Can't believe it still bothers me. It's like getting upset because a dead relative's corpse has rotted a bit more.
31 Aug: I wonder if George Lucas will ever replace himself with CGI. He should do. He's a muppet.
4 Sep: My final word on the SW Blu-Rays. When they hit the shelves, just say NOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm sorry, but this thread sends my troll-o-meter off the scale.

Yes, I have a refurbished, cleaned, tweaked and near-faultless X0 to transfer from.
OK, my request:
1. Write "Moth3r, you've been pwned" on a post-it note.
2. Affix to your X0 player
3. Take a photo
4. Upload and post the image here

I can't say I noticed any errors - it all sounded seamless to me. They must be very minor.

... someone's going to have to rip the audio and send it to me...
As much as I value your opinion, this is the point where I suppose I should point out that this would be piracy, and therefore against the rules of the forum.
But there's so much bullshit surrounding this whole release event that to be quite honest I'm completely "meh" about the whole thing.
I used to have it, and at one point I uploaded it to my old Geocities site because other links were dead. Geocities is now gone and a search of my hard drives didn't turn it up.
You could always use g-force's Median script which performs a similar function.

And what the heck are the speeder bikes are doing there?
This is the answer posted further down in the thread:
micdavis said:
It took me 25 years to find out, but the speeder bikes were there simply because they were on the same trucks with the skiffs, from the manufacturers. So they stored them under the platform until they moved on to Crescent City, CA for the Endor scenes.
Is this the same guy who provided Jambe Davdar with the Super 8 footage in Returning to Jedi?
To answer your question green, when this section of the forum was first set up xhonzi suggested a load of threads to me that should be moved in here. Looks like we both missed that one. I will move it now.

Really? Because to retro-delete all your posts from a thread is very bad mannered and extremely disrespectful.
I've done what I can to rectify the situation. I'm leaving this thread open in the hope that someone can relay updates from Facebook and generate productive discussion about the edit itself.
Yes - 16mm prints can either be 'scope' or 'flat' - the latter having a cropped full-frame image.

A short video sample of it without audio: http://www.sendspace.com/file/sgpy3s
Just IVTC'ed, resized...
What method did you use for the IVTC and resize? I ask because there's a fair amount of aliasing visible (it's actually as bad as the GOUT) and I wondered if that was from your processing or present on the source.
