Never used ReJig; a combination of PgcDemux, Muxman and VobBlanker works for me.
Never used ReJig; a combination of PgcDemux, Muxman and VobBlanker works for me.
Too late!
Just an observation - the first post in this thread seems to be giving people the impression that the "full set" is available. Might be worth making it clear what has been done and what hasn't.

i've been doing this for over 15+ years now.

You still don't get it, do you?
Forget the business about Return or Shift+Return, you do not need to press anything when you get to the end of the line.
Just carry on typing - when the line is full, your words will automatically appear on the next line below. It's called word wrap. Amazing isn't it? Why not try it out now...
And don't come back to me with any bullshit about "that's the way I've always typed on the newsgroups", every Usenet client I know will wrap your text for you at ~72 characters.
It can be done, using filters and delays and whatnot, but at the end of the day you only end up with a fake upmixed stereo track. It might sound more exciting to the ears, but as far as I'm concerned that is not 'preservation'.
skyjedi2005 said:Also the mono mix from a better source than the tv broadcast, is also much appreciated and welcomed.
Don't hold your breath - see post #33.
Nobody has ever put out a disc authored with the belbecus restored mono mix...
Wrong - the Pwnage Edition includes the mono mix sourced from Belbucus' restoration.
Re-install the OS.
And while we're on the subject let's
type really short
lines and
start a new paragraph whenever I feel
like it... not to mention the
multiple exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the link on the Doom9 forum; more details, and the script he used, can be found here:

Do you have write access to the drive? Is there enough space left?
So the original cable broadcast was time compressed?
It's an old VirtualDub plugin called Colortools by a Doom9 member called Trevlac. If you can't find it let me know and I'll send it you.
Regarding the advice above, I've since discovered that you can avoid clipping if you use VirtualDub's capture mode option to extend black/white points. Using this option, your captured YUY2 video includes "illegal" luma below 16 and above 235, with no hard cut off - and therefore is suitable for multi-pass averaging.
(The illegal pixels will of course get clipped if you convert to RGB, however to my surprise I found that CCE retains the full luma range - in YV12 - if you encode to MPEG2)
The 1985 Japanese laserdisc was officially available.
In Japan.
In 1985.
And it's a similar case for the 1985 Greek VHS...
Everything else on the disc is I believe from unofficial sources.
That said, what exactly is your arrangement with linktalk? A fan project does not neccesarily have to be listed on the fe.org main site to be uploaded there, does it?
See No Evil said:I really hope there's either some torrenting or RapidShare uploading of this set, as it looks sickeningly wonderful.
I might be able to do a rapidshare upload as I would have to only upload the 7GB once, although I wouldn't want the board to get flack for posting links, and enough people would need to download it to keep it from going offline.
Not sure how Rapidshare works, but if you were to get someone who pays for an account to upload it, then I think the files would be kept online permanently? It's true that we don't allow posting of RS links on the board, but you can post the links on another site (e.g. linktalk) and direct people there.
If your DVDs do not contain material from the original DVDs, they can be put in the firstling fanedite section and if approved on fanedit.org for technical quality, could be moved to the fanedits section.
Technically speaking, and as far as I'm aware, none of this exact video material has been released on legal retail DVDs before (with the possible exception of some semi-bootlegged german DVDs) and that includes the contents of the DVD-ROM folder. I either sourced it from a laserdisc or VHS tapes, nothing came from retail DVDs. apart from the seperate issue of the material itself (from whatever source) having a copyright.
Who are you quoting there? As far as I'm aware, fanedit.org do not put what we call "preservations" on their site.

Greg
Clense is a filter that's contained in the RemoveGrain dll.
Legal ways to get the trilogy in 1080p:
There are also, however, several illegal ways to get the trilogy in HD. Take a look at the following threads:

I'm now closing this thread because it doesn't belong in the technical discussion forum.
This is a very well put-together disc, it certainly ranks amongst some of the best fan-made discs I've seen and I'm happy to have assisted with the LD capture. The only minor nitpick I would have is that the Greek VHS footage seems to have a strange frame-rate stutter.
I haven't forgotten that I promised to get this up on the newsgroups in the near future. Just need to sort out some ISP issues first.
I've been through all this before.
There is no accurate and reliable method for hobbyists like us to measure LAeq. While RMS measurements are a useful indication, they don't take into account subjective or "perceived" loudness.
In fact, it seems that the AC3 tracks on most commercial DVDs have been encoded with dialnorm left at the default of -27dB, so I suspect that some professionals don't fully understand it either.
I briefly played with the Replay Gain measurement in LAME (think it gives a value as an offset from -20db instead of -31db) and initially thought I was onto something, but after further testing found that results were not so reliable.
You want to measure only clean dialogue spoken at normal conversation level, so yes on a 5.1 track that's just from the centre channel. Furthermore, it is the long term average level you are trying to estimate - if there are pauses in a conversation, that can skew the readings to the low side. You could try, as I did, editing a section of dialogue to cut out all the gaps between words and carrying out measurements on that. Great fun to hear the results, but you may still find that different sections of dialogue in the film have varying levels.
The LFL Pwnage DVD I did has 3 audio tracks all with different relative levels. In the end, dialnorm for each track was set using trial-and-error. Although the actual dialogue ended up being louder on the tracks with a lower dynamic range, the final levels are set so that the louder sections of these tracks are still at a reasonably high level.
Jay is currently working on a redesign of the entire site, to include a new petition and a closer integration of the forum and fan project wiki. I don't know if he's planning to do anything with the site logo.

Probably shouldn't have taken amphetamines before going to the cinema then.
It seems that there was a PAL VHS on ebay.de:
