I also like the idea of not even showing Anakin becoming Vader... just end it with him burning (take out the last moans so he goes quiet, ie. audience thinks he's dead) and Obi looking on. Then (as Muddyknees I believe wrote) you see Vader in ANH and go with it. That way when you get to EMPIRE and Vader does the reveal, the kids go "Holy Shit! I thought he was dead!" Combine that with the whole "fake Harvey Dent-ish" funeral, and it makes Obi Wan and Yoda a little more dimensional as characters.

If you go that route, then you also have to take out the whole "A pupil of mine named Darth Vader..." speech Obi-Wan gives in ANH. Because it would be pretty obvious that he was talking about Anakin if one had seen ROTS.

See what I mean? The Prequels are a mess!

Curse you and your infernal logic (I was going to say to just remove Ben saying "named Darth Vader", but being that we SEE Obi-wan do the deed, it still wouldn't make any sense other than being a lie).

Angel: I guess Aloha (hello/goodbye)?

Sad to see you pop up and then go away again, but there is an alternative. You can just re-up your images on your image hoster and delete the current ones. It will mean a bit of work on your end, but it will also mean that any images linked here will show up as blank boxes.

I like the idea of just cutting out the Emperor coming to save Anakin and end it with Obi looking down on Anakin (cut out Obi walking away). That way if you do the funeral on Alderaan scene it would appear that Obi brought Anakin's body with him to be buried on Padme's new home world... which leads to:

- has anyone considered the idea of Naboo being destroyed (if not like Alderaan, then the surface of the planet laid to waste)?

I also like the idea of not even showing Anakin becoming Vader... just end it with him burning (take out the last moans so he goes quiet, ie. audience thinks he's dead) and Obi looking on. Then (as Muddyknees I believe wrote) you see Vader in ANH and go with it. That way when you get to EMPIRE and Vader does the reveal, the kids go "Holy Shit! I thought he was dead!" Combine that with the whole "fake Harvey Dent-ish" funeral, and it makes Obi Wan and Yoda a little more dimensional as characters.

Overall though... these movies are just a mess. Editing, acting, voice work... this is going to need an entire make-over, with new voice acting and editing and LESS SPACESHIPS LANDING. Jesus Christ, these films would probably be an hour or 3 less if you cut out all of the landing and taking off crap.

I agree with you, Muddy. Yoda and the Emperor did not have lightsabres (even cute tiny ones) because THEY DID NOT NEED THEM. That was (at least to me) the entire point behind being a Jedi Master. You did not need a lightsabre.

Lucas kinda forgot this with the prequels, or more likely didn't care. Besides, how else are you going to show 2 masters duking it out?

Disagree. Vader's arrival and conversation with Moff J sets up the ominous news that "The Emperor is coming here?!". The fear in J's voice, followed by his immediate, trembling resolve to redouble his efforts, tell the viewer a lot about the Emperor.

But you get all of that when the Emperor arrives. You don't need Vader to talk the Emperor up when he comes off as ultimate evil right out of the (shuttle's) gate, not to mention Moff J is pretty much a useless character, as you never really see him much (other than that one scene, and the rest were cut out).

And what is up with the coding on the talkbacks?

I love how just the visual of a beard or facial hair can connotate a long passage of time.

I still think that you could just cut out Vader's arrival in the beginning of JEDI and just start with C3P0 and R2 walking up to Jabba's palace, and leave the reveal of the Death Star 2 when the Emperor arrives. Vader's arrival to the DS2 adds nothing and is redundant, as we're reintroduced to the DS2 with the Emperor.

Now what you do with the rest of the editing is the next question. I think THE WAR OF THE STARS has some really interesting ideas throughout (one way one could include the "raid on the bunker" scene is have it on a screen with the Emperor, Vader and/or Luke watching - thus a way to deal with the limited resolution as well as show Luke/the audience that the Emperor is not just one step ahead of the rebels, but is literally watching their every move).

I also think that when Luke "freaks out" after Vader's taunt to tempt his sister (try saying that three times fast) one should add pieces of the surrounding area flying/pummeling into Vader (which would be a nice turn on how Luke was handled in the Bespin fight) and/or lightning from the electronics zapping Vader to show just how much power Luke has, as well as explain why Vader is defeated so easily. Even regardless of adding any of that, I would at least edit OUT Vader "taking a knee" and purposefully falling down and exposing his hand to be wacked off.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Has Adywan left any general updates as far as how things are going? I don't think there is a need for any more clips or images, but a general update a few weeks or once a month would be nice (even if it's just "Hey everybody! I'm still alive and so is the computer. God hasn't shat on me in 3 weeks, 4 days and 23 hours, so everything is going rather smoothly. Should be wrapping things up in 1 to 6 months.").

I would have to concur with ImpFighter. Here are some screen caps:

Replacing the sky area around the Slave 1 could help it stand out more. Another thing: what about those 2 stormtroopers that were watching Solo be loaded aboard? Would we see them walking away on the platform? Would their bodies be somewhere in the following scenes?

Also, would the buildings in the shot about need to be altered to match the ones in the new shot below?

I would also ask: should the buildings in the "Slave 1 taking off" shot be angled the way they are (as opposed to more level, as indicated by the red line)?

BTW, love those new clouds...

Backstroke of the West Dubbed Version (Released)
Time

I can confirm that the 8gb file is properly timed with the dub and works fine.

Katharsys: you may be able to use Nero DVD burner to create a DVD-R... I have Nero, so I'll see what I can do with it. You may also be able to use ImgBurn as well (though the issue then would be: would it just transfer a MKV onto the DVD-R, as most DVD players do not recognize MKV files unfortunately).

Still, to see that "Do Not Wannnnnnnn(ooooo)!" scene in 720p is just too much. :) I will definitely be subjecting this to my friends later this week.

That is completely possible. It will take some tweaking, as I believe the YouTube clips contain some overlap... but that can be taken care of with even a basic editing program. It will just be a matter of figuring out how to work said editing program and putting it all together.

If you have all the clips, you can upload them on Mediashare if you like. The MP4s would be preferable, as it will help to have the video to track audio qeues and the like.

If I were to say anything about the transports in the distance in the shot mentioned above, they appear a bit too fuzzy if anything... I know they are at a distance, but the shot does have deep focus, as the mountains have a good amount of detail to them.

Even so, I personally didn't find the movement of the transport coming out to be distracting at all.

I wouldn't worry about it, Brash. Nitpicking is the nature of criticism, which is all good as long as there is a valid point.

I see it more from a purely visual angle as well as functional one (as far as: functional to the purpose of moving the plot/movie). If the deleted scene or added FX doesn't improve what was already there, then there isn't really a point other than to just throw it in there (compare the original scene of E.T. on the left among the branches looking up at his ship leaving as his heart glow fades away, compared to the replaced Special Edition version where a CGI version of E.T. shambles up to the edge to look out. Not only unnecessary, but ruins/deletes a beautifully composed shot).

In regards to the Executor's engines, I don't remember them being RED red, even back in 1980...
