Definitive? If you think so, I'm happy for you. And about providing it for free, do remember that's piracy, won't you. And yes, there is plenty to complain about, when people like you and Plaguis post things like this. It's embarrassing.

Okay, what I meant to type was WHETHER this can be considered the definitive edition or not... while this will be the version I watch, that's only until I can figure out how to do my own re-edit for me (fixing those little nitpicks I have) or get the unmolested GOUT.

Regardless Mr. GF, why do you come over here other than to bust balls? You know, forget about praising or trashing Ady or the movie, you've been doing this same rant for 2 to 3 pages now. WE GET IT.

Can you lay the ball-busting to rest and come up with some suggestions or do some editing of your own? Because if you can do the TIE scene better, let's see it.

well to each there own,but mkv does not suck,I used to think that but not anymore, and I am not going to re-encode all my raw HD files and then upload, that is just to much damn work,I will get better results with my full untouched files anyways, plus I have to many projects on my plate now.

just upload a 1-2 min mkv file with the audio/video and let me take a look at it,you are making 1080p AVCHD's right?

The two I am working on now are HOWARD THE DUCK and ALIEN:DC, which are both 720p MKVs.

With HOWARD, I get a video error saying the PS3 can't play the file (during conversion, I set H.264 to Profile: High@4.0), and with the ALIEN:DC, I get video and audio, but the 2.35:1 image is crammed to the top of my Toshiba 65" HDTV with a huge green bar filling the remaining space below (during conversion, I set H.264 to Profile: High@4.1).

My question then is: how do you convert a MKV file to a TS file so I can transfer the HD file onto DVD so it will play the video and audio without green bars, error messages or any glitches?

If you like, I can use the "split and cut" and post it as a torrent.

I've done that; MKV files just seem to be a roundabout headache when the file can be muxed into a TS file and work perfectly well. Either there are audio issues, video issues or non-compatibility issues. If the TS format holds all the information a MKV format does, why pick the more problematic format?

And I don't understand why you can't re-encode the 10 to 25 gb files you have to 4.5 or 8.5 gb size to fit onto a DVD-5 or DVD-9 the way Rasputin did. I can understand not wanting to torrent or host a bunch of 10 to 25 gb sized files (since you would need a 1tb hard drive, internal or external, just for your hosted files), but if they can be re-encoded to smaller sizes, retain their HD nature AND be extremely easy to make blu-ray DVD-5s and 9s out of, why not do it that way then the pain-in-the-but MKV version which one will have to convert into a TS file anyways?

Is there a particular program you use to create TS files or a setting in TSmuxer that actually creates workable TS files? Like I mentioned in detail before, all I get is errors of various kinds. I'm sorry if I offended you, but just out of my personal experience, MKV sucks.

I would also suggest putting a time code on the bottom black bar area so when someone writes a critque they can post the time (minute: seconds) as to the movie element being written about.

Also, whoever is selected to do the task make sure to keep your finger on the pause button! >:)

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Hear hear,

I would say ditto to you Darth P. That is EXACTLY how I feel about all of this: watching ANH:R made me realize that ONE MAN and ONE PC can do the impossible, which is pretty much the feeling I got when I first watched STAR WARS at 7 in 1977. Before, it was obvious models with wires and stop-motion critters.. and while it was all good and cool, you could still tell it wasn't quite real.

STAR WARS blew that notion out of the water in the first 2 minutes and after that Star Destroyer went overhead there was no nitpicking or seat squirming.. it was like what everyone is saying AVATAR will do to your eyeballs over at AICN. If my eyes could have smoked a cigarette after watching SW, they would have.

And again, you grow older and more cynical, if for no other reason than you just know what to look for - the wires, the matte lines, the zippers. Even if it is unintentional, after you see THE WIZARD OF OZ for the first time, the next time you KNOW what's behind the curtain.

Yeah, after watching ANH:R multiple times and being on my 6th or 7th time, the magic is a little worn off.. there are still little niggles here and there, but damn if the Falcon escape and the Last Battle don't make me feel like 7 all over again no matter how many times I see it. And one guy did that. On one home PC.

Because of ANH:R I want to see if I can do the same to those movies that I feel could use the spicing up or had a major impact on me... and I know that it can be done. In my house on my PC. I may have to ask or beg others for help, I may have to spend 2 to 4 years cracking my brain to figure out what Ady already has, but the bottom line is he has proven it CAN be done, which is where the bulk of the praise comes in.

Forget that this is the definitive version of STAR WARS or whatever.. ONE MAN did this for FREE. Jesus Christ on a tap dancing pogo stick, is there really anything to complain about, being that he did the work and provides us the movie FOR FREE?!?!

PS: if you can release any of these as TS files

I will not be upping any of the .TS files, they are just to damn big.

Really? The ones at Cinemageddon are 3.5 and 6.5 gb in size... which is the standard DVD-5 and DVD-9 sizes. Granted, their bit rate is around the 5.5 and 7.5 kbps rate (which is okay, but it seems the HD transfers around the 8 to 10 kbps look better naturally), but they are still what I would consider average size and comparable to any MKV file of a similar nature.

I'm just saying that so far TS files are the only ones I can actually get to turn into blu-ray discs in which I can play in full 720p or 1080i on my PS3, which is the end result that I want - all other methods have created major bugs: green bars on the bottom, sound or video not playing, video errors, day-long conversions with HD transfers with dgital artifacts.. you name it.

PS: in regards to tehparadox, I still don't understand why people use MKV when making a TS would work just as well, on top of the fact that it seems so many people have problems with MKV conversion (sigh).

Is there a truly proper way to convert an MKV file to TS that WON'T cause problems? The TS files on Cinemageddon are main 4.0, whereas when converting MKV to TS with TSmuxer, the setting is usually High 4.1, which results in the green bars on the bottom of the TV screen. When I convert to High 4.0, I get a video error message. Is there something better than TSmuxer out there?

PS: if you can release any of these as TS files, that would be great (since I can get the TSmuxer on my machine to properly make blu-ray disc folders that will work on my PS3 that way).

BTW, there are some good examples of good TS files over at Cinemageddon - they have a 1080i MOTEL HELL and THE GATE that look fantastic!

Can I post the links here (just wanting to make sure Muthr)? If not, PM me for those who want them.

** how do you convert 720p/1080p files to DVD and retain the HD? **
Time

I will post the info from tehparadox MKV files tomorrow, but the ones I am having problems with are the ones in the correct aspect (1280x720p). The TS files of MOTEL HELL and THE GATE (1440x1080i) transferred perfectly and play without any problems. It is the actual conversion of the MKV files that is the issue, since THE GATE and MOTEL HELL were already in the TS format. It's GETTING to the TS format that is my issue.

I also know that the ALIEN and HOWARD THE DUCK MKV files are in the 5.1 format - I tried converting them to 4.0 and 4.1. 4.0 seems to result in an unplayable video file, whereas the 4.1 results in a green bar appearing on the bottom of the image, with the movie shoved to the upper part of the screen. I will take some screen caps to show you what I mean later on...

i thought you had to pad the video to exactly 1080p or 720p

That may be the case, but it also comes across as (at least with TSmuxer) some programs just aren't very consistent in their performance. I know I'm a dummy when it comes to this stuff at the moment, so user error is a definite culprit, but when I've managed to get 3 different results by doing the same exact thing... well, this is what I'm looking like lately:

Regardless, the TS files of MOTEL HELL and THE GATE that Rasputin created over at Cinemageddon muxed into blu-ray discs just fine (created said folders and ImgBurned them onto DVD-5s). It is when I attempt to create a TS file from the MKV files downloaded from tehparad*x that I get the problems.

I am pulling my hair out regarding TSmuxer; I am getting 3 different results when trying to make a blu-ray disc (to fit said 720p and 1080i TS files onto DVD-5s or DVD-9s).

(1) it works fine - I downloaded the MOTEL HELL 1080ip TS file from here. H.264 Profile is Main@ 4.0: 1440x1080i. Converted TS to blu-ray disc folders, used ImgBurn to burn to DVD-5 and it played without a hitch on my PS3

(2) won't play at all - converted HOWARD THE DUCK 720p MKV file to TS file using TSmuxer. H.264 profile is High@4.0: 1280x688p. Converted to blu-ray folders, used ImgBurn to burn to DVD-9 and got "video won't play" error on PS3

(3) plays, but huge green bar on bottom of screen - did the same thing as above with ALIEN 720p MKV file, only this time H.264 profile is High@4.1: 1280x544p. Converted to blu-ray folders, used ImgBurn to DVD-9 and it works, but 2.35 image is crammed to the top of the TV screen with big green bar on the bottom.

Is there a difference between the 4.0 and 4.1 settings? Where is the green bar coming from? Why doesn't this program provide consistent results when doing the same procedure?

I like the VO idea. Anything is better than its present state. All good ideas really, except maybe the recoloring and adding/changing pieces of the robots, as that would be neat but impossible to do on a moving image.

Yes, but we have some crrraaaaazy people around here! >:)

Besides, whether it is done in the (or "a") film edit, I think it would be cool just to see some still images ("cough, "cough" Vaderios... when you get back from vacation) with StarScream looking like... well, StarScream. And maybe Devastator too. In fact, he may be a bit easier to do since you would only have to create a green sheen over his entire body, as opposed to StarScream who has unique parts with different colors.

I would DEFINITELY be up for a true HD version of THE GATE. I'm trying to get a 1080i torrent over at Cinemageddon, but no one is seeding (I'll have to email the guy who made the original seed to see if he still has it). Screen caps look great too.

Quick question DJ: I have some MKV files and am using TXmuxer to convert them into blu-ray compatible DVDs to play on my PS3. Problem is, there is no sound. How do I fix the audio issue so it will play? I know I may have to remux the audio from DTS to AC3, but do you go about that so you can play the 720p or 1080p file with sound on DVD on the PS3?

I also know there are HD versions of MOTEL HELL, DERANGED and WAXWORKS from Monsters HD as well...

And yes, FLASH GORDON and SHEENA would be great! Can't get enough HD Tanya in a waterfall...

Ideas Thread: for Transformers 2...
Time

I agree with a lot of suggestions here. I felt the action was pretty spot-on for a change, though it would be interesting to see it edited to see if it flows better.

I agree with:
- Megatron NEVER being submissive

- edit down or delete terminatrix and college roomie intro

- edit down or delete the "all kitchen attack!" sequence. I know the RV has to come alive, but at least when the minibots first come alive, there could be some snips here and there.

- may not be able to get rid of ALL of the Car Car Binks stuff, but maybe (at least) make them LESS blatantly offensive (edit the ears to smaller sizes, no gold tooth, etc)

- give Optimus the face mask at all times, so at no time does he have a regular face with a mouth.

- see if the colors of the robots can be altered - i.e. make Devastator mostly green per the original, as well as maybe give the various robots some color to help distinguish them apart (so they are all not chrome and silver). Hell, would it be possible to give StarScream his red and blue paintjob, or at least something similar?

maybe someone could try taking the above image and play with giving him the more "white and red" approach (or even a lighter silver in the outer body panels, with reddish metalic on the inner panels - it doesn't have to be bright primary colors, just as long as SS isn't solid grey)

you know, like this:

(more images here and here)

Hell, for the SERIOUSLY talented and obsessed, one could even alter the heads of Star Scream and/or Megatron:

one could at least maybe file his teeth down... never knew why a robot needed sharp, pointy teeth...

- consider going to the TRANSFORMER series and 1984 movie for audio dialogue clips; it's not as if you have to synch the dialogue to mouth movements with the robots...

- get rid of Devastator's balls (can either edit out the scene or CGI the balls out), as well as have the rail gun fire 2 or 3 more times, as opposed to firing ONCE and never again.

- edit out at least 40 minutes, especially the out of left field NATIONAL TREASURE sequence - there are a few times where Megatron or other characters wander off and then reappear 30 minutes later, or some random extra adventure pops up when maybe another plot device could be employed to move things quicker (like Jet Fire can track the location of the Prime grave and simply leads them to it, as opposed to the round-about treasure hunt that takes 20+ minutes out of the main movie)

- edit the more goofy "old robot gags" with Jet Fire. We really don't need to see him using a cane or at least fart out a parachute.

- edit/alter the mini "doctor" decepticon's voice so it doesn't sound like Doctor Ruth.

- slightly edit the colors of the Matrix of Leadership to match the one in the TRANSFORMERS 1984 movie (with the metal having bluish and gold tinges where they should have them)

maybe make the center more "gold" per the original... or even the whole thing...
video of the Matrix in action as well as some other cool stuff (scroll down all the way for images_

- in regards to the "robot heaven" sequence, maybe we don't need to see it... if you have the dialogue playing while we see Shia's body and his parents/girlfriend mourning over him, it could allude that either he went to robot heaven, all intelligent beings go to the same (or similar) heaven or it's all in his head... as in the matrix is what is speaking to him, and is in essence the "essence" of the Primes' consciousness.. hence why it reforms (nanotech maybe?).

That would also explain why all Shia has to do is stab Optimus with it and it doesn't have to stay on him... the nano element of the Matrix (the dust form) stays within him even after its pulled back out. If it is the sum-total conscious of the prior Primes, it would also explain why simply putting the Matrix into the MASS device wouldn't necessarily work... the Matrix has to willingly activate the machine.

Idea & Info: 'Watchmen - The Graphic Novel Cut'...
Time
ChainsawAsh said:I don't think there's enough material available to make it into a decent miniseries, but I could look into doing 20- or 30-minute segments. They wouldn't be the exact same chapters as the graphic novel (obviously, since that would be 5 and a half hours long if each chapter was 20 to 30 minutes), but it might work.Hello CSA, hope you don't mind my two cents here...

Being something more akin to the actual comic book, it might be at least interesting to try and structure it like the CB (or even the moving comic blu-ray). Regardless of whether it is watchable at 5+ hours non-stop, the 5 part breaks would allow for the same rhythm as the CB.

I'll look into less Nixon. No promises there (it's generally unavoidable).

Maybe you could replace the DR STRANGELOVE war room scenes with actual clips of Nixon. One way you could get around having Nixon say the lines in the movies is have the focus on Kissinger while Nixon speaks and vice versa. You could take footage and whiten the hair of both characters (or not).

Or you could just excise him. I would have to watch the movie again to get a better feel as to how necessary the scenes were. I would DEFINITELY see if you could work some Adywan magic on those Nixon posters and replace the bad make-uped actor with an actual Nixon image.

Definitely more Philip Glass, I'd like to use more Dylan (I'm going to try to find a new spot for The Times They Are A-Changin' since I'm removing the credits). In re-reading the graphic novel, I've discovered that Desolation Row is quoted in the first chapter, so I'll look into placing it in that section of the film if possible. If not, so be it. It'll likely go in the credits, mainly since I can't find that John Cale song (Sanities) fucking anywhere.

I agree, or at least play around and have some fun with the music - maybe use 1940s to 50s music during the earlier years footage and take music from the 60s, 70s and 80s to play with what is happening according to the time that said event is happening. One idea I always wanted to play with was to take songs like ELEANOR RIGBY or any number of GENESIS songs in Phil Collin's early days and take out the vocals and just use the background instrumentals as a form of a soundtrack.

Here are the Rorschach's-death-scene shots I'll likely have trouble with, and they all involve removing Dan from the image:

The motion is what will make this hard (duh!), BUUUT the good thing I guess is that Nite-Owl is standing within a fairly plain tunnel. You will probably have to start with erasing Nite-Owl and then recreate the blue glow around Doc M. When Rorcharch blows up, maybe you could create a "blood cloud" similar to what happens to Willam Defoe in WILD AT HEART when he blows his face off with a shotgun. You would still have the chunks, but some added chunks and blood mist/cloud effects may be enough to obscure what Nite-Owl elements you can't erase.

Other than that, I would LOVE it if you could:

(1) play with all of the ludicrous "slo-mo" and speed some of it up to normal speed. Granted, you are cutting out a lot of the scenes that pretty much involve the slo-mo stuff at its silliest, but something to consider. I do love the idea of the Comedian attack being interwoven with the cops at the crime scene.

(2) is there any way to recreate the MAD MAX ending to the child molester (as opposed to the hatchet to the head)?

(3) I don't want to start a tennis match back-and-forth on this, since it's been done to death at AINT IT COOL alone, but is there any way to bring back the Squid? I know, short of taking a HD DISCOVERY channel doc and doing some heavy editing and FX work, it would probably be impossible, but again, just a suggestion (one idea to bring the squid back is that said squid is inside the spherical container Doc M creates - that way you can still keep the stuff that is in the movie. That would only leave the climax to alter).

Regardless, sounds pretty ambitious. Good luck and take your time!

Info Wanted: Coloring question regarding VHS preservation...
Time

I don't think images can "fade" on a VHS so much as just not work anymore. If anything, the image quality is strictly due to the source quality as well as the limits of the VHS tape itself - things like chroma and analog noise. Maybe it looks faded due to the transfer process when the tape was first made.

I guess that is the good thing about computers now... you can take the VHS and enhance the colors so as to have the saturation you like while retaining the detail that you want (short of the same video being put out in higher definition).

I've had the idea to color correct the prequels on my mind for some time, now that I've got some time I made some tests and this one I'm quite happy with. Besides color correction, I also changed the music since I thought the original piece was weak. IMO it quite changes the overall tone of the scene. I'm considering to do a full blown edit, do you think it's worth it?

you know, it's pretty sad: your short edit probably has more emotion than all 3 of the prequels (as filmed) combined. I love how there are no words being spoken and yet you get the broken love theme just with the images and music. If you can do that for the rest of the film(s), go for it!

PS: I'm still pestering people as to how to do color-correction (still trying to figure out what I need to do and with what program would be best) for my ALIEN:R. Is there a tutorial you could point to, or just information to give?

PPS: the color correction is PERFECT! I love the color pallete you chose - no more ORANGE!

My point is simply for comparison. I do not think anything is going to be changed in EMPIRE:R regarding the end with the Executor, as that argument was made many moons ago with Ady stating that nothing needed to be changed.

But this thread isn't for ESB:R. I stayed on topic and never brought up ESB:R. I'm just saying what could be changed in ANH:R, just as the topic of the thread suggests.

I'm not talking about EMPIRE:R. I am making a reference that is similar in nature: the Falcon is out of range of the TIE even though it is pretty close (and in JEDI the Falcon is shooting TIEs out of the sky pretty quickly at roughly the same viewable range) and the Executor is out of range of tractor beam usage even though the Falcon is scratching their paint.

The topic was the far-fetchedness of the TIE being out of range when they could clearly see it and I just made a similar comparison that happens in another SW movie. The bottom line is that silly things happen in STAR WARS and some of it we just have to either live with or re-edit in some way to satisfy our niggles.

The only issue I still have with ANH:R is when the Falcon comes out of lightspeed in the Alderaan System, and is passed up by a TIE Fighter. The Falcon follows VERY CLOSE to the TIE for a long time, while Han says things like:

"I think I can get him before he gets there. He's almost in range."

Yet we see the Falcon easily fire upon TIE's in ROTJ at around the same distance, very accurately and easily!

If I were ever to do a follow-up re-edit on ANH:R myself, I'd put a lot more distance between the Falcon and the TIE in the Alderaan asteroid scene.

Note: I'm surprised this wasn't brought up before....

Well, it's just like how at the end of EMPIRE the Falcon is damn near making a drive-thru burger order with the Executor and yet they are STILL not in range of the tractor beam. Even in that dreaded argument a few months back, I just watched EMPIRE on Spike recently and sure enough the Falcon passes in front of the Executor nose (if that is the only location for a tractor beam on a ship 11 to 12 miles long, with hanger bays roughly 5 to 6 miles from the nose) for good 5 to 10 seconds if not longer before jumping away.

All I can say is it's STAR WARS and there's no point in arguing about it...

Well the good thing is that you wouldn't have to SHOW Piett or even another officer saying anything. You could have someone who can do a good "Piett (don't know the actor's name)" and have a voice over a TIE cockpit scene per the order to guide the Falcon to the reactor (with the expected "what?!?!" from the pilot, though if the Emperor was mad enough to start wiping out everyone in his path, I don't think the fleet would be TOO far from agreeing with such an order if it was the only way to survive).

Similarly, you could dub in extra/alternate lines when Piett (or anyone) has his back to us.

My angle is along the lines of QUO VADIS and how even the Praetorian Guard turn against Nero when everyone realized he was the one who set Rome ablaze, not the Christians. Also keep in mind the general mindset of the German army as compared to the SS - a good point of reference would be the scene in THE KEEP between Jurgen Prochnow and Gabriel Byrne: I would want to see an end that would truly be a relatively happy one. Simply killing the Emperor does NOT stop the Empire, but if you had in essence the next in command making a truce after all the crap they took from Palps just to see a lot of your friends get killed... well that would settle things quite nicely.

PS: even before the Prequels, I always wished they had Chris Lee in JEDI as a imperial general plotting to take out the Emperor ala the Valkerie plot. Maybe it would have been too much to add to what was already there, but if there was one STAR WARS movie that damn near needed to be LORD OF THE RINGS EXTENDED VERSION long, it was JEDI.

Vaderios:
we shall see what Ady has in store. Maybe he is double jiving us, maybe not. Like he said in a much earlier post, he always wanted to see Lando do an INDEPENDENCE DAY to the reactor ... until INDEPENDENCE DAY did it. I still wouldn't mind seeing Lando sacrifice himself, but again I can go either way - I like the YAHOO too.

Even so, there are going to be some radical changes just due to the fact that he plans on remaking half to most of the battle footage, so you never know. JEDI: REVISITED is a looong way away, so anything can change from here to there.

Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist

Some ideas for Endor battle:

Ideas that have been mentioned before:

(1) make the rebel fleet MUCH larger (hundreds of ships), but with smaller ships that are faster than the SDs. Maybe instead of one singular fleet, there are multiple fleets that are enmassing and they all jump in at the same time (you could show said extra battle fleets jump in on the left and right side of the DS/Endor when they come out of hyperspace). You could add a throw away line about remote controlled ships, ala the kamikaze transports,

(2) which would account for the massive damages the imperial fleet takes. Ady (or anyone for that matter): reference the battle of Jutland or the battle at Okinawa - the latter of which was bloody as hell due to all of the kamikaze pilots ramming into US carriers.

(3) I don't know how, but I would either do something with Piett along the lines of Bingo's suggestions and have him do something heroic - if so, there would have to be a reason. Maybe the Emperor goes nuts to a degree and has the DS laser do a swiping arc and starts to destroy both rebel and imperial ships. Earlier in JEDI, someone could take one of the scenes from EMPIRE where Piett looks uneasy or upset and work it in to show he already has his doubts about what is going on. Seeing the Emperor start to destroy everything just to get at the rebels could tip him over to give the order to attack the Death Star even if it is just to save his fleet.

I would still like to see something along the line of Piett shaking hands with one of the rebel generals at the teddy bear picnic to signify a true ending where the Empire COULD become a new republic. Whether than means showing Piett escape, or having him (A) fire at the shield generator, which destroys it, then (B) rams the Executor into the DS, which takes out enough guns that the fighters have a clear path ahead to get into it. In fact, how crazy would it be to see 2 TIE interceptors escorting the Falcon to the reactor (on orders from Piett)?

(4) for the general battle (before Piett gets his chance for redemption), I would also show the TIE interceptors taking a few hits before being destroyed (as they have new shields ala the X-wings, to show the Empire can adapt too) as well as get some more kills to show that the pilots have some actual skill. I would also show an X-wing bounce around inside the DS pathway to the reactor as opposed to a more nimble TIE, whose pilot could possibly use his computer to input a trajectory, being that he could access a map of the DS (whereas the Falcon and co may not - unless there was a detailed map in the captured plans).

(5) EXECUTOR destruction: either Piett ramming into the Death Star per above, or have multiple kamikazi ships ram into it and overwhelm it with massive destruction. I do like Vaderios' idea of having the Executor fire a barrage and maybe wiping out a good 10 or 20 mid-sized rebel ships in that one volley.

It might be fun if the walls of the reactor chamber were to spin making the whole chamber part of the reactor rather than just the giant chalice thing in the middle (like being inside an enormous turbine).

It would add an extra obstacle to escaping the chamber too if the Falcon and the X-wing had to line up with the gap they entered through.

That would actually be pretty cool! I can imagine seeing something like that on my 65" HDTV... it would almost be like one of those carnival tunnels with the spinning lights you have to walk through without keeling over to one side...

Cool mock-ups once again! I think that if I had some comments to add, I would maybe darken or modify the SD in the 1st cockpit shot so it stands out from the cockpit controls better, as well as add a viewscreen to the black box in the center. LOVE the added Endor!

PS: I'd still like to know how do you do that... >:)

Personally, I can go either way. JEDI is just so damn goofy I don't know what you can do with it.

If you wanted it to be more serious, you would have to do a HELL of a lot more than just wack Lando, of which we've talked about:

(1) more native-esque, VC-ish Ewoks, with some storm trooper limbs getting tossed into the air during the dogpile scenes, as well as showing the Ewoks ability for digging tunnels with claws or tools; have more pit-related traps that the Imps wouldn't see coming (like logs on top of a cleared hill in an otherwise dense forest)

(2) a stronger voice for Vader with maybe some lines from EMPIRE to help him come across as a stronger character (or at least as the SAME character as what we saw in EMPIRE)

(3) if we have the whole corelation between Luke's mech arm and Vader's mech arm, I would still like to see Luke tearing off peices of machinery and throwing them at Vader during the final fight ala what Vader did at Bespin to show just how close Luke is to turning to the Dark Side, much less give a reason as to Vader taking a dive like he does. I have NEVER bought that whole bit where Prowse damn near "knees the ball for a safety" and allows Mark to whack away at his arm and that is somehow supposed to convince me that Luke had the powa to overthrow Vader.

(4) being that the original intention before Lucas "prequelized" JEDI was to kill a main character, I know these edits are primarily for Ady, being that he is doing all the hard work, but it would still be nice to see what Kurtz and those others who seemed to take all of this more seriously than Lucas had in mind.

Regardless, if you wanted to keep it more or less the same, that would mean less editing and altering.. but then what is the point? Ady can redo the space battle to make it more exciting and a little more serious, but if the ewoks are still a joke and Darth Vader is still a lame lackie, it's still going to be the same "prequel before the prequels" JEDI.

Even more regardless, this is a good 3 to 5 years off, so we'll have plenty of time to banter until then....

Just please don't think it was ME saying they should fly above the trees. Even as a little kid, I never thought that. It's usually non-sci-fi fans that bring up issues like that, not thinking about how it's a movie, and how boring it would be if they weren't among the trees. ;) Just using it as a fantasy vs. reality example. (as "real" as repulsorlift technology can be, anyway)

Yeah, but even as a kid there gets to a point where you just throw your hands up at it all. Flying down the trench on the Death Star was one thing; flying a speeder bike 100 mph+ in a frickin forest is something else... REGARDLESS of how cool it may look.

Let's not even bring up how there were something like 9 scout troopers all hanging out at the same area, and ALL 9 got wacked by Rebels who had no training in that environment nor on that equipment (and not ONE of them thought to use their radio)... or how when Han does his little "radio in front of the face" trick, they ALL come running out of the bunker without closing the door behind them or even standing IN the doorway so someone could run back in and shut them. Again... really? Can we just CGI the Emperor and replace him with Wile E. Coyote and get it over with?

Maybe when Vader throws Emperor Coyote down the elevator shaft, we can see him throw an anvil down after him...
