Attempt to restore the original 20th Century Fox logos (Released)
Time

AVI Clip, XviD 0.9, 704x300, No Sound (858 KB)

This is a hack. I don’t think it’s very good but it’s my first try. I think the timing may be wrong.

Nonetheless, I’m sure I have the logo right (note the tilted zero). It comes from here and purports to have been ripped from the “Alien” PAL DVD.

The resolution of the video matches the resolution at which I am planning to encode the final reconstruction (and the resolution at which I encoded the Dr. Gonzo-derived AVIs I have of teh OOT).

We need a Java Chatroom

I really do have that MEGO factor... XD

Anyway, the unofficial channel Jaster and I had on ChatSpike, I'm still holding that open, I don't like EFnet because there's no nick protection, no channel protection, and a 9-char nick limit, well, there's an unofficial chat page on http://www.dosius.com/irc/originaltrilogy.htm that points to irc://irc.chatspike.net/originaltrilogy - it's a Java applet. If you want Java chat, or if you want IRC, this gives you the best of both worlds. XD

My relatively simple experiment: ROTJ Fix (revert many changes back to the 1993 form)
Time
Working on the infamous Ch.49 - my preliminary edit is off by about 20 seconds or so. If I leave it, I'll have to do some major hacking on the audio (and I'm doing it blind) - so I'm going to rebuild the laser-rip clips, and measure the time difference per chunk one file at a time...

Most of these chapters can just be kept as they stand, I think.

LOL I know it means very little, but at least I'm doing what I can within the limits of my hardware and software. The real trick is going to be fixing the celebration, which I'm still not sure how I'm going to do it - but I'm going to do that first, and get it the hell out of the way. It's probably going to require a lot of splicing, and work without sound, adding the sound later. Considering my computer is too underpowered for anything much more complex than Virtual Dub this will be a real undertaking indeed ROFL.

Anyway, I plan to make SOME kind of release, though it will prolly be XVID.

Beginning of Day 1: I’ve ripped the disc, and I have a second reference also in vob format to use for comparison.

I’m going to make a reconstruction of Jedi. The target is an AVI which I can watch on my computer, since it’s too slow to handle mpeg2 encoding.

I’m going to revert many of the changes back to teh 1993 form of the movie. XD I’m working on it as we speak!

Currently: Breaking the vobs into more manageable pieces.
