I didn't release as an MKV, so what you have is a re-encode of my (admittedly crappy) DVDISO...which was re-encoded from a settop rip.

I thought "Team -1" was 3 people.

There's a couple people around here who have that capability, though it would take a lot of time and money, but I think it could be done by one of them in theory...

You can if you need to transcode them for some weird reason (like, PAL <-> NTSC)...

Well to be nitpicky, the DVD standard does allow fo PCM audio... But I can't think of any DVDs that actually used it. 

Lyrical Nanoha DVDs in Japan use it.

That translation seems very literal, more than I expected.  (Then again, I've seen some very VERY literal es_MX dubs before.)

Yeah, I got it from someone who got it from someone else, and was asked to keep the flacs close to the vest.  I think GonbeFAN was my proxy, but he went through someone else too.  (I'm not at liberty to say who the other people were, but I think they might both be from Daizex too.)

And Daizex, well... they're a bit uptight about these sorts of things (they cost us a chance of getting the AB dub of Blood Rubies), in addition to the mentality I see among the fandom that Toei's colors must be right, even if they're OBVIOUSLY wrong.  Because Toei...or something like that.

And DBZ... yeesh.  At least DB and DBGT get some respect, while Z keeps getting mangled and mangled and mangled.

The closest we got to perfection was the Z 1-34 (and 35-39 on xbox live).

I have original broadcast audio of 2-17, it sounds great, better than the R2Js, and almost as good as DBK...what happened to Toei and Fuji's copies?

I’m kind-of clumsy at this color correcting bit.

On one hand, the R1s (“Blue Brick”) seem to have more or less the right colors from the 80s and are sharper, while the R2s are very much shifted to green (Z and GT have this shift on the R2s as well; GT even has it on the R1s).  On the other hand, the R2s (“Dragon Box”) have more detail and more image, plus better audio; and it is possible to get a R1-like look (minus the colors) out of the R2s if you know what you’re doing.

My attempt to color correct the R2s was a disaster, and I’d like to try to improve it before I try to restart my project in earnest, which originally was just merging crudely the old pre-Brick R4 and R1 singles with the R2 video and audio.

As you see…I screwed up hard.

Got 16 on the color sensitivity test.

Most of my issues were concentrated in the area centered on red; the center of the blue area was also screwed up.

Sounds like what I tried to do with DBZ, and burned out hard on after 3 eps.

Heh, I usually use more specific terms like "es_MX" (most Latino Spanish dubs) or "es_VE" (Batman TAS) or "es_CL" (I've got some translated anime songs that were recorded in Chile), or very rarely "es_US"...

Haven't ever heard before of a generic abbreviation for Latino Spanish o.O;

There was a VHS, CLV LD and CAV LD release in the US in 1988.

I have the latter two, though the CAV edition is with someone else atm along with the rest of my collection and my player.

Dunno what use it would be in the scheme of things.  Being "stereo", the audio is prolly a remix.

I also have, and have released a cruddy encode of, the 1995 CLV release.

I have a Belgian friend who posted here a couple times in a style not unlike -1.

The main difference being his lines were longer and I think he made more proper use of caps.
