I was randomly thinking about how back in the day, Lucasarts would produce a lot of videogames that were essentially spinoffs or reworkings of the movies - but there were always a lot of direct tie-ins from Super Star Wars to The Clone Wars movie game. The former is now defunct of course and they took 1313 with them, but where are all the other random titles outside Lego and Battlefront? Factor 5 is also dead too I guess. But I’d probably play a random action title just called The Force Awakens.

Where’s my generic TFA arcade space shooter or third person action adventure with combo force powers and bad voice acting?

They’d be more like to release a set that includes all the original cuts including the PT theatricals, since they can sell it as a “SAGA”. That or they do nothing. I’m betting on nothing.

It all depends on the script and whether JJ has any real powers of scrutiny when working on the story with the other writers. Star Trek Into Darkness is utter trash, and he gave a lot of odd things a pass in ST09 and TFA. The possibility remains that Johnson will produce the only above average entry in this trilogy.

I expect the latter. A Martha moment to get the Luke/Leia style twist in there perhaps.

The too much too fast ego theory fits with all three instances of people being fired though. It’s speculation, but it’s easy to imagine. These “insiders” need to be more wild and imaginative.

It’s always been labelled as a Solar Array. I don’t particularly mind, since real technology has no place here. But the lack of consistency in design and progression of the fighter types is just weird.

They walk into SEEDY CANTINA as a pair of droids are seen leaving just off camera.

Threepio and R2 can be shoe horned into an embarrassing cameo if they choose to show right up to the moment Han and Chewie enter Mos Eisley, just before they meet Obiwan.

Ugh. I mean sure I get it. But it only serves to highlight the general design problems with the First Order. Why are they even using basic TIE Fighters at all? Plus if white solar panels (wat) were specifically chosen how come they’re missing on this model?

The protagonist would have to be someone in his circle trying to gain favour or obtain wealth, or just escape. Something like that. Then you can have lots of underworld betrayals and clashes like a real gangster movie. We can revive Nar Shardaa, and throw in Bossk and 4-LOM for good measure. Problem is Jabba is presented as a 100% evil mollusc who lives like a medieval lord throwing people to their deaths and stuff, not a calculating mastermind.
