Despecialized.
Despecialized.
It wasn’t very consistent before though, it’s much more pale in SW compared to ESB. Probably because of the visual effects change. Then the prequels that feature it are different again.
What’s a fandom?
Dark Corners Special - The Road to The Phantom Menace
It’s all awful apart from the speeder effects, and I’ve never been entirely sure how they cleaned up so well.
I used to have a taped cassette of ESB and listen to it all the time. The best theme (from the best the score) is The Asteroid Field but Yoda’s theme is also very nice. I used to get really confused about all the extra Hoth music before I knew how the film was scored.
The Lando series would be a better fit, if it ever happens.
He should keep making sci-fi but not anything like this.
Oh I was just going to post that. It’s a cool series and it’s dumb that the newer movies don’t have such interesting designs.
If I remember correctly all film stock will degrade with time fading or turning pink, and it’s worse with movies from a certain era onwards, which is why movies are stored underground away from moisture or light. So they can be preserved for long time but not forever.
It’s not that I dislike the title itself, but since you now have to say SW77 or SE97 or whatever I’ve grown to be annoyed by the whole mess.
Or did he plan to use the same effect to repeat Marjorie Eaton’s performance?
After the post ROTJ Ewok movie dirge SW started back on an upwards climb in popularity thanks to the all novels, all the Lucasarts games and all the toys from Kenner and Galoob. The PT may be the zenith of that journey but I think the OT movies would be remembered all the same without them.
Well either there is a profit in collectors items and the ‘limited’ style of release they often do… or they are testing the waters to see if demand is low enough to stop. In some ways it might just be a way of keeping the public eye on certain brands. But one thing is certain; that poster art shows they think that the consumer doesn’t remember what the art is actually for, and that the legal release of OOT is likely doomed.
That sounds like what they call a waking nightmare.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve only seen season one so far but that’s fair. I also thought Hidden Enemy was a good combination of the best elements: Clones and Asajj Ventress. It was also worth skipping anything that begins with the narration “Representative Binks…”
Probably just and oversight since Empire of Dreams has been given it’s own Special Edition treatment with a disclaimer. There doesn’t seem to be any clear control over which OT clips are allowed and when, which is kind of strange. Maybe they just want the lines to be intentionally blurry.
I mean maybe, if you really want to collect the artwork on the inserts.
Good news! It’s also an audio drama!
FTFY
It will also be animated on youtube… eventually.
ALOL that was a good one.
The shot where Ben Solo arrives on Exogol and the camera reveals an Imperial TIE next to a Rebel X-wing.
I guess I’m just a miserable killjoy who sees a short range fighter without a Hyperdrive and wonders how the hell it got halfway across the galaxy.
Should have been a later model. Also the markings on the X-Wing don’t match the OT and the helmet Rey wears looks weird.
Uhhhh on topic… I enjoy the Kimiji sequences both the way it all looks, the John Williams cameo, and the Force Link Duel.
I don’t know if there’s a thread somewhere but Empire of Dreams has a “we changed stuff” disclaimer at the start now. Presumably because it now includes the pink saber from 2004 and the Ewok eyelids from 2011, amongst other things.
Edit: I also watched the Clone Wars CGI movie. It was real bad. Like worse than I could have even imagined. Good grief.
Streaming exists so save money, so no thanks.
I just watched some of the first movie and I don’t like it. Not much else to say, it was the standard HD version not 4K but it looks way too cold (despite possibly more detailed than I’ve seen before).
I enjoyed the show quite a bit. It’s got the problem of many shows where the first and last two parts are all the best stuff, but overall nicely done. One part that left me puzzled was how the AT-ST was seen as any threat. Doesn’t the Razor Crest have guns? Can’t they hi-jack it stealthily? Can’t they get a couple of logs roped up?
If someone can explain tracking in this universe that would also be nice. Not exactly sure what’s going on, since it makes the ever present threat seem weirdly contrived. Also takes away from the actual bounty hunting since it’s more like bounty geocaching?
