There are many films I’ve grown to appreciate over time. But not with Star Wars, they either hold up or get worse the more I watch them until I have to stop.
Anything ‘could’ return. It’s easy to be vague, that’s part of talking to the press.

They’ve given out the directing job to a few people over time. Time will tell if Johnson or even Waititi actually do anything.

If he’s uncredited in the first place they can probably erase anything. It’s not on brand to say that originally it wasn’t Morrison.

Is it me or have certain SW related channels got squashed by the algorithm and have next to no views? Jamie Stangroom has the same problem, but that could be because he tried to rebrand everything and add other types of content too often.

Luke is very Vader like when he heads into Jabba’s but that is deliberate. You see him wearing all black. He force chokes a Gamorrean guard. He is there to get revenge on Jabba for his treatment of Han Solo and to free his friend. He at first tried to bargain with Jabba but Luke was prepared to carry out murder if necessary.
Well that’s the whole point, you’re not sure if he will turn in the finale. It’s a character moment, like in a real movie.
Crazy thing is I don’t even think George watches these as much as we’d like to think he does. I think it’s just simply a case of he wants them “finished” just for the sake of them being “finished”.
Or… he’s just saying that to justify this stuff.
Obi-Wan wearing the same clothes for like 60 years is hilarious. But yes, many of us have had this gripe. Luke’s ROTJ outfit would have been the logical choice. They even acknowledge the ridiculous lack of practically in the prequels when the robes get thrown on the floor every time.
Vader was only trying to get the plans that were stolen. All these people were in his way shooting at him, it’s either sit there and let the firing squad kill him, or mow them down with a lightsaber. I myself, in that situation would have done the same thing.
Because if he loses the plans, he has to face the Emperor and the consequences for failing.
Darth Vader’s a fictional character though, justifying a story decision with in-universe facts doesn’t work. The writers could have just not had that be the case.
Imagine if a WW2 movie, which people like to reference to RO, ended with a scene in which a Gestapo agent slaughtered a bunch of resistance fighters. And then people cheered.
Palpatine’s theme plays in TLJ. It would have been easy to dovetail a third movie into what came before, in all kinds of ways. But since the writing of TROS is so atrocious the results speak for themselves.

They should make a new SW themed racing game that takes itself seriously. As for this? I don’t know, is it a real remake or a new game on top of the original bones?

These were referenced above–now, I haven’t really watched much of them, but are people saying them because they are good PREQUELS or because they’re just good QUALITY? What did they change about the perception of the original story?
I chose these specifically, and didn’t pick Temple of Doom or The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly for example.
Prequels barely work in general.
Can people really come up with any prequels outside of SW that enhance the original?

It seems even stranger in hindsight that in ESB the Rebel base is so small. Vader had to scour the galaxy for them but they had all these Mon Calamari allies from such an early date? I always presumed the largest group they had was in ROTJ.

I see Star Wars in general as being a ‘band effort’ rather than the sole vision of one man. Yes, SW is/was Lucas’ creation, but the input of folks like Kurtz, Dykstra, MacQuarrie, Johnston, Burt, Marcia Lucas, Kershner, Kasdan etc etc really helped shape this universe significantly. If anything I see the PT as the equivalent of Mick Jagger reforming the Stones with an all-new lineup. So I don’t buy into the ‘George as canon’ thing at all. A Lucas-ST probably would’ve sucked.

The Empire Strikes Back. There’s no screwing around, you know exactly what this movie is going to be about. It’s not that I think more interpretive titles or more vague titles are bad, but I just think it’s kind of funny how absolutely straight to the point it is. If you count “Star Wars” instead of “A New Hope”, this is why I’d also say “Star Wars” has the second best title.
