FILM DISCRIPTION:

Sequel to 1986's Highlander, in which Christopher Lambert reprises his role as Connor MacLeod, a member of the alien race known as "Immortals," banished to Earth from his home planet Zeist some 500 years ago. In the year 1999, Lambert owns a corporation that has created a shield to protect the Earth following the depletion of the ozone layer. But the shield is seized by an evil cartel, and Virginia Madsen plays a scientist who assists MacLeod in his mission to destroy the cartel. Sean Connery also reprises his role from Highlander as the Scottish Immortal named Ramirez


ABOUT THIS DVD:

This cut is about 11 minutes longer than the Renegade release and a full 31 Minutes longer than the original American theatrical version. It has elements of the American Version, The Renegade Version, and the European Version.

It has the original special effects with orange shield, and contains the fairytale ending. It retains the references to planet Zeist. In many scenes it contains different and/or longer dialogue and in many places, different music.

This edition was made for those, who like us are fans of the dreaded planet Zeist editions of Highlander II, but also want the longer scenes.

This is the MOST COMPLETE version of Highlander II: The Quickening you will ever have!

Hey Track,

I think they are talking about the crashed spaceship in the scene before the "500 years ago subtext". In the Special Edition DVD w/ new effects they changed the effect and added a Roman structure to resemble the past.
In the original movie they had a crashed spaceship in that scene. So if this is the Ziest edition I think they wanted that picture since thre is no past in these versions.

Ye! The film was shot in that manner, have you seen the Highlander Endgame workprint? It was released a few years back, that movie gives you an idea of what they do. They save money by filming full matte in some areas and them crop it, some scenes are shot 2:35.1 but most dialog scenes are not.

I hope thats a good example

I have been doing some thinking, I would love to take the Serenity movie, deleted scenes and the new upcoming extended scenes to create 4 or 5 new episodes, sort of like a new season two - imagine if that happened and the movie didn’t?

Firefly - Season Two

I think with all the new scenes I could create four or maybe five episodes. I would like to add some falshback scenes from season one, for example Mals’ lost battle from the original Serenity Pilot, some footage of River, some friendhip scenes with some of the cast including the ones that buy the farm (Die) in this movie.
I would like to really touch on the friendship from season one that the movie lacked.

Taking the film from 2:35.1 to 1:85.1 will lose image but it will be needed to give it a television feel.

I had this idea after viewing the movie, it felt sort of like a TV show in away!!!

Who knows maybe someday my partner and I could do this project, but for now I just wanted to throw it out there and gain some ideas!! I just wanted to see what interest there would be?

Any ideas would be a great help!!!

DELETED ZEIST - BUSHWACKED

- Not included on the upcoming DL/SL set -

This is a deleted footage from the
Extended Zeist Version "Rough Cut".

We originally added all the Cannes footage festival scenes, all of the deleted scenes and anything else we could find into the first Extended Cut. After the first viewing we realized that the added footage just doesn't work, as it adds nothing to the overall feel of the film. This exiled footage was intended to be cut from the film originally, therefore, by removing this footage from the Extended Zeist Version we now include all of the studio released footage. The final EXTENDED cut is much better without all the poor quality deleted, extended workprint scenes and other footage and audio that was in the original " EZV ROUGH CUT".
There was a reason why some of these scenes had been cut from the original commercial releaes of Highlander II in the first place.

The wait will be worth it now that we have that Italian footage in all it's glory of 2:35.1 to add to the film.

Now we will be able to view the Extended Zeist Version in full 2:35.1 / 16:9 Widescreen throughout the entire presentation.*
* So for now here is some deleted EZV that was never intended to ever be viewed by other than us.
