2007 Star Wars DVD Collection Release

Boba Fett was digitally inserted into that scene as he was not part of the original shoot, having been developed by Joe Johnston in 1978; he was filmed in 1996 and played by an ILM employee IIRC. And yes, he was put there for fan-related reasons.

That's right, and I think it's laughable how Boba Fett stops and looks in the camera.

I think asking for a list of things muddys the waters and makes the petition less effective. This site has had the most successful sw-related petition in terms of participation/signatures and ONLY asked for the OT on DVD (well, maybe they should have specified "anamorphic" although that probably wouldn't have done much good).

I think if Jay decides to start a new petition on THIS site, and simply asks for the OOT on blu-ray, that would be great and I'll gladly add my name, just like I did with the original petition. Unfortunately, I don't think that just starting a petition on one of those petition websites will have any effect whatsoever.

I hate to admit it but I would also consider paying $500 (not that it would ever cost that much).

I mean, I paid $300 for a laserdisc player for the sole purpose of watching the OOT on laserdisc, plus God knows how much on the LDs. My mom bought me a VCR for Christmas in 1984 that had to be at least $300 so that I could watch a $80 VHS tape of Star Wars on it. But like I said before, it would have to be the original versions on HD now.

When I think of how much money I've spent on SW over the last 25 years- geez! But most of it was spent wisely, on stuff that I could recoup my money on (if I wanted to).

That's fine, I understand that some fans really want the original-ORIGINAL sdtks, and the orig crawl, I'm just saying that it makes no difference to me, as long as the soundtrack isn't the screwed-up one from the '04 DVDs.

I'm hoping that GL will change his mind about releasing the OOT in the near future, when he realizes that he needs another trick to pull out of his hat. But I don't even care about getting them on DVD now- they need to be in hi-def.

As far as I'm concerned, the blue tint and the crushed blacks in the '04 DVDs is a non-issue since I refuse to watch the SEs- but in all honesty, I wouldn't mind if Lowry gave a similar "blue" treatment to the films again as long as they were the 77/80/83 versions (in HD). The sound issues with the '04 DVDs (like the missing force theme from the death star attack) were actually more bothersome to me than the color issues (the one time I watched them, that is).

But then, I'm not as much of a purist as some. I don't care about the "original-ORIGINAL" soundtracks- the ones they did for the DC/Faces laserdiscs (that were ported over to the '06 DVDs) are fine to me, and I don't really care about the original scroll (since I saw SW for the first time theatrically in '82 with the amended scroll already added).

I just want the non-CGI'd versions in HD now, and like I've said here many times previously, the '06 DVDs were the last video purchase I'm making from Lucasfilm LTD until they are released.
