We should sue George Lucas.

I love all the fan edits that this site does, but man you guys posts are exhuasting to read....do you like anything?

Yes- we like the 1977, 1980 and 1983 versions of the OT films, which is the reason this site was created.

This site was not originally created for fan edits. That has been a fortunate side-affect, but the main purpose of this site was and is to get the 1977, 1980 and 1983 versions of the OT films remastered and released in a up-to-date format (which today means anamorphic DVD or blu-ray).

Since the goal of this site has not yet been realized, I imagine (& hope) that there will be much talk about the subject for some time to come.

Yet ANOTHER DVD boxed set...*sigh*

I think it's important to buy the GOUT to prove there's a demand for the original versions. I bought multiple copies. I even use the revised version disks -when I want to remind myself how bad Lucas's revisions are all I need to do is pop in a disk and find the scene and be revolted. But even I have a hard time going to the scene where they replaced Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen.

That same argument was made in '06. I bought multiple sets, too (two sets, to be exact).

I can't watch the SE discs at all. I've heard they make good coasters. ;-)

I'm sure they are the exact same discs from before. This goes for the prequel dvd's as well as the 2006 oot. So this is just a new box. Nothing is new or different. That being said, I think this is still a small victory. It's far from deluxe or even basic standard but think about it, there has been progress.

You're probably right, but I'd still like a definite from someone who's bought them and watched them.

I know most of us here either bought them in '06 or refused to buy them, but I think there are still a few people here who want the GOUT discs but haven't bought them yet.

I also agree that it's a small victory in that it's the OOT released again to store shelves. Such as it is.

Why do you people support the rich so much?

Because rich people own the businesses that  employ most of the middle-class people in this country. No rich people=no jobs.

The reason there is so much outsourcing is because we have the 2nd-highest business tax rate on the planet. McCain wanted to lower those tax rates to encourage businesses to come back to the US, and prevent even more companies from leaving. But, that's obviously not happening now.

Another positive is that our days of hearing the constant Bush bashing is coming to an end. But perhaps not, every mistake Obama makes he'll blame on Bush I'm sure. "Well, uh, this economy thing is still bad here in 2012, but, uh, you see, Bush left it this way and I had a lot to clean up. Uh, it's still bad and I need four more years to fix it, and maybe four more after that, becasue Bush sure made a mess!"

Yes, that's a huge positive. If there's reason to whine, they have only themselves to blame (but they'll still probably try to blame a republican from several administrations back - lol).

I agree, almost everyone who even meets Bush, even if they supposedly hate him, like him as a person. I bet he'd be fun as hell to party with, I just wouldn't give him any gas money. His fiscal responsibility tells me that we'd stop every four miles in a Nissan to get gas.

He did wonderful things for Africa- gave them tons of money to fight AIDS etc., and I give him credit for that. I also give him credit for the fact that we haven't had another terrorist attack on our shores, but he went crazy with the spending (aside from the war expenses) and he did NOTHING to secure our southern border in the eight years he was in office.

They are all the same as previous DVD's released. If you take them out of the box, they are the same PT discs, just in a slimline case. And the OT is the 06 release, again in a slimline case.

Same old shit again I'm afraid.

Do the OT "bonus" discs physically look exactly the same as the '06 release, though?  I'm so curious about that.

I'd also like to know if they still have the Lego content on them....anybody know?

And what about after Empire Strikes Back came out and from then on down to when the prequels started to come out in 99, was there any sign whatsoever of the celibacy thing, even a hint?

Not really, but I did read an interview once with Mark Hamill, and he wondered aloud whether or not Jedis were supposed to be celibate. It obviously wasn't explicitly spelled out to him, either.

When was this interview done?

Around the time ROTJ was released, I believe. It might be in the ROTJ 'making of' book.
