We should sue George Lucas.
Time

Guys, don't knock yourselves out.  -1 has stated previously that Star Wars was just a film that came out in 1977 and is not worthy of being studied by film students, etc.

I still have -1 on my 'ignore' list, but that doesn't also block his quotes in others' posts........

Of course, we know that the success of the Special Editions in 1997 had NOTHING to do with the new CG effects. We realize that an entire generation of people never had the chance to experience the Star Wars Trilogy in a movie theater and THAT is why the Special Editions were successful (coupled with the fact that a bunch of old school SW fans wanted to see them again theatrically and bring their children along for the experience).

Anyone who thinks that watching a VHS tape on a TV and viewing a 35mm print in a movie theater are comparable experiences has no concept of.........well, anything. LOL.

-1 reminds me of someone who goes to a Corvette enthusiasts' convention, and announces:

"You know, the Corvette wasn't really that big of a deal as sports cars go. Oh and by the way, I just bought a cherry 1967 'vette. But I really don't understand why the rest of you are so into these cars- I mean, it's just a car- just something to get you from point A to point B and plus the '07 'vette is better in so many ways..."

Don't let him get to ya. ;-)

That's the problem with the Phantom Menace duel to me- it FELT choreographed, and as such, there was little suspense or tension. The best duel to me was in ESB. It felt like a real duel, not like a predictable dance routine. There were surprising moments all throughout the duel and you could feel Luke struggling towards the end- his weariness was tangible. I didn't get any of that from the duel in TPM.

George Lucas & Seth Green collaborate on ROBOT CHICKEN: STAR WARS
Time

Supposedly, the backstory was that Vader and Ben had a duel and Vader fell into a volcano, and then it became a lava planet or whatever in ROTS. But falling into a volcano doesn't necessarily = no eyebrows, lol. I'm sure some burn victims re-grow hair in areas where the hair follicles weren't totally destroyed.

I'm totally willing to suspend disbelief enough to accept that the back of his head was more injured than his face. I mean, the skin on his face didn't really look like a burn victim's either & he has lips, right?! Don't most people with severe facial burns loose their lips? Maybe in the next EXTRA-extra-special-edition they should digitally remove his lips!

One of my friends thought it would be funny to do a different type of Brokeback Parody. Instead of making it look like two men were lovers, why not make fun of the fact that George Lucas made Luke and Leia brother and sister after having them make out in Empire.

Here it is:

I like it- good job! :-)

puppet yoda or cgi yoda

otherwise puppets need to be replaced with cgi technology.

They don't need to be. Puppetry is an art form that goes back thousands of years. There's a theater near me that's called The Center For Puppetry Arts- should all of the performers there be fired and forced to take computer classes?

It should depend on the film. I don't think films like The Muppet Movie or The Dark Crystal would have been better served if they'd had cgi instead of puppets.
