These days fan word of mouth can really boost or fatally damage a film.

^ Some of the comments under your clips are unbelievable. Makes you just want to weep at the lack of knowlege and understanding some people have. Well done for putting these guys right.
Fingers crossed. I was looking for some hopeful news like this today. I've been getting pretty discouraged about this lately. :-/ Sometimes it seems like they're just slipping away, and it's very depressing to me.
For what it's worth, my 2 remaining uploads of GOUT clips on YouTube (I removed the other 2 clips due to YouTube/Google threats of general nastiness) have garnered close to 2 million hits:

Keepin' 'em out there, anyway.

I saw the 1985 screening does that count?
As for the 30th No i cannot celebrate with the current BD its shit, Hayden And NOOO! And the Gout DVD even upscaled is no replacement for seeing it in 35mm. A Good BD of the 1983 version would be nice but Disney have not put one out and probably won't.
I think I might have that too- was that a poster book?
Books and posters were my favorite SW-related items back then.

I had forgotten all about that scene.
How could you forget that scene?! It's the most memorable one!

THREEPIO: Oh, no! I've been shot!
This is a very dramatic moment. We laugh because it's 3CPO, he's a robot. Yet think of a human in a similar situation: imagine a corpse of a soldier (torso, head, one hand) resurrected from the dead, recalling that moment. "So we were assaulting that position, I threw a grenade towards that MG nest and... wait, that's when I took the bullet!?!?"
Creepy. That's why ESB is so grand.

Did anyone get a "Jedi Adventure Center" display in their local mall that summer?

I remember the ticket booth sold memorabilia, the ROTJ storybook & Official Collectors Book were there......over at the sweet counter, they sold other things, posters etc.......why do cinemas nowadays not cash into these sort of things....well not in Northern Ireland anyway.
I do know of someone who has 35mm prints of all 3 OT films (in addition to a lot of other 35mm films that he screens at his house regularly). He works at a place that does telecine work, etc.
He usually works late at night or early in the morning, so I've never had a chance to meet him to ask if the prints are SE or OOT.
True. That's what I ended up doing anyhow. ;-)
Just more bonus stuff to eventually get released on the OOT Blu-Rays. ;-)

Someone who clearly didn't understand Han's character.
There's no way I'm going to re-buy the books to get extra content. It will show up online somewhere, anyhow.
There was a lot of bonus material in the DC '93 LD set (unlike the '95 Faces LDs that just had the Leonard Maltin/G. Lucas interviews as bonuses). The DC bonus stuff has been preserved as well.

I've said before that Hardware Wars captured the spirit of Star Wars better than the prequels did.
This! Too bad Ernie Fosselius never got around to zinging ESB. By the time of ROTJ, he was working for George!
I've said before that Hardware Wars captured the spirit of Star Wars better than the prequels did.
Guess I'm sayin' it again. ;-)
I wanted to search for an older post the other day....and then realized that I couldn't find the search box.
Is my browser just not showing it or is it gone?
(Not that it's that much of a loss since it didn't really work, anyway. :-P)
EDIT: Nevermind. I should have looked in the "bug" forum first.
Read this if you want to know what 20th Century Fox stupidly did to their entire Technicolor catalog (post #8):
http://www.hometheaterforum.com/topic/323596-help-required-what-happened-at-fox-in-the-1970s/?p=3956832
I have both the '93 and '95 LDs and the 2006 DVDs Echo3 spoke of look FAR better to me than either LD set. However, the LDs still sound better (fuller, less compressed).
There have been many preservations of the 93/95 LDs, but I don't recall if any of them were able to preserve the original LD sound quality.
It would seem that the trailer in post #3 would be earlier than any trailer with the Tommy Jung logo, since that trailer just used a standard font - not even one of the earliest SW logos. :-/

Holst's "Mars" was used as a temp track for the actual movie, specifically the first shot of the Blockade Runner and the Star Destroyer, before John Williams composed any of his scores. I would guess the movie at that point was still at workprint stage.
"Winter" may not be easy to recognize like this, I suggest speeding up the video up to roughly 140% or 150%.
